    Detroit/Clarkston show very confusing

by MeandMe on 2014-09-01DTE Pine Knob - Clarkston, MI

Queensryche .... plays one hour. I dont get this. 3 opening bands. One being Great White who fit with Queensryche about as well as an extra small baby T on a fat man. By the time Queensryche hit the stage it was clear this would be a short show. If you are going to headline then play a full show. I shouldn't have to sit thru once bitten twice shy when I come to a prog rock show. My time was wasted. For the hour they played it was good. Although Wilton looked like he really didn't want to be there. The rest were given a good effort. But again. I came and paid to see Queensryche. Travelled, waited, waited, waited and then got 2/3rds a show. Judging by the attendance this was a poorly organized event in many ways. Never saw this venue so empty.

    NOT Queensryche

by Bigmakk on 2013-06-04Casino Rama - Rama

I love the original Queensryche, but this band is NOT Queensryche. Geoff Tate was very good, and the band was not bad, but without Degarmo and Wilton, it just sounds staged, and not natural. That being said, I still enjoyed the show, but was disappointed when compared to seeing the original lineup.

    Queensryche rocks!

    by Brent123 on 2013-06-03Casino Rama - Rama

I had no idea that Geoff Tate had separated from his original band mates, until after I bought the tickets! So I was concerned about what it was going to be like. But I was not disappointed ... Geoff was in top form, band members were a who's who from top metal bands and had the Queensryche grooves down to a tee. They played Operation: Mind Crime beginning to end as the first half of the show. It had been quite a while since I listened to that epic albumn... Since the concert I have listened to that album 3 times thru along with Empire and selections from all the others... What a great inspiration this performance was! Sass Jordan opened with and acoustic set, she is an incredible entertainer. She showed her chops when she took the stage with Geoff during the Mind Crime set and rang out vocals that matched Tate note for note... Gave me chills!

    Queensryche rocked!

    by GeoffTateFan3 on 2013-06-03Casino Rama - Rama

The Queensryche show at Casino Rama was awesome! They played many of their hits over the past 25 years. Geoff Tate has an excellent stage presence, and a great sense of humour. The encore was one of the best! I wanted them to keep playing!

Fake QR Band & Legal Issues

by iHub on 2013-06-03Casino Rama - Rama

I didn't bother attended even though I paid as I found out late that this was not the real QR band. Also, heard of the poor show put on by the former front man. Plus Sass Jordan should not be the opening act for QR....I wish the venue had disclosed this information ahead of time.

great band Queensryche with Geoff Tate

by pinoymetal on 2013-06-03Casino Rama - Rama

the setlist was awesome. they played the whole Operation Mindcrime album. great line-up with Geoff Tate, the original Queensryche. terrible boring crowd though for a great 80s metal band they should have played in a smaller venue in Toronto such as the Phoenix and the audience would have been better. i still thank the band though for coming to Canada. this is the real Queensryche though, not the other version.

Geoff Tates Queensryche: still queen of the reich!

    by RUSHfan74 on 2013-06-03Casino Rama - Rama

"25 year's of Operation Mind Crime and we're gonna play the whole damn thing for ya" exclaimed Queensryche front man Geoff Tate after blazing through the first three tracks of the bands operatic opus. Nevermind there's currently 2 touring versions of this band. It is Geoff Tate and his personification of the consummate rock god that strikes you right in the face! Those who are familiar with "Mind Crime Live at the Moore" pretty much know what your in for regarding Tates vocals. While he may not be able to hit the high notes of years gone by Tate clearly makes each track his own. This version of Queensryche is rounded out by veteran rockers Robert and Rudy Sarzo although the latter was being filled in for by John Moyer of Disturbed fame. Kelly Gray, Randy Gane, and Simon Wright (AC DC, Dio). The musicianship is tight and this is a band that by any other name would rock. Their cohesiveness in just a few weeks of touring is better some veteran bands with no line up changes. Canadian fans might be surprised to see opener Sass Jordan return to the stage in the part of Mary. And while her husky voice is not what you might expect from Mary, props to Jordan for stepping up. Tate engages his audience enthusiastically if not slightly mellow dramatically....but even in that, he does not disappoint. Queensryche at Casino Rama gets 4 Revolution Callings out of 5

    Queensryche Rocked @ Snoqualmie

    by Coostar on 2010-02-06Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

It was an extremely successful evening with lots of different acts @ entertainment. Queensryche continues to keep changing things up with this unforgettable show. The only constructive thing I would like to add for the venue itself is that maybe the use of risers for the seating to ensure everyone has a clear view of the show. Alot of shorter people (not including myself), but my wife couldn't see. Thank You Queensryche for yet another GREAT Show! Hope you come to Vancouver soon...

    Queensryche was great!!!!!!!!!!!

by bigbird1 on 2009-08-04The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

The concert was great. It was really nice to them soo close. Saw the a few times in the past and had to watch the big screen to get a close look. Going to see a show in a small venue like the pheonix theater has it's advantages. Very Loud!!!! Had a great time.

    QUEENSRYCHE WAS INCREDIBLE!

by RAGEFOREMPIRE on 2009-07-31The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

THE BOYS FROM SEATTLE PUT ON A GREAT SHOW. I HAVEN'T SEEN THEM SINCE THE PROMISED LAND TOUR AT MOLSON AMPHITHEATRE. IT WAS GREAT TO HEAR THEM PERFORM SONGS OFF THEIR NEW CD-AMERICAN SOLDIER AS WELL AS SETS FROM RAGE TO ORDER (THE FIRST MUSIC I LISTENED TO-AND BECAME A BIG FAN BACK IN MY HIGH SCHOOL DAYS) AND EMPIRE. GEOFF TATE'S VOICE WAS STILL INCREDIBLE TO LISTEN TO. EDDIE, MICHAEL AND SCOTT WERE ENTRANCING TO WATCH. IT WAS INSPIRATIONAL TO SEE AND HEAR GEOFF TATE AND HIS DAUGHTER SING TOGETHER ON HOME AGAIN. THANKS FOR THE PERFORMANCE AND THE MUSIC

    Queensryche in Toronto

by blugirl on 2009-07-28The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

There is no question this is one of the best progressive metal bands out there. The emotional lyricism in the dark, heavy guitar laden sound underscored by Geoff Tate's incredible vocals is what captures me about this act. In fact, each player shines on his instrument and contributes equally to the whole. They definitely did not disappoint. All seemed to be head banging to the enthralling rhythms despite the lack of air -conditioning and a few miscues when Geoff's vocals and horn playing got lost. I think a bigger venue perhaps something like Massey Hall would have done them better justice acoustically but I suppose appealing to the more discerning, intellectual metal listeners has its downfall as they are highly underrated by music consumers in this market.

    Queensryche is king

by domhnullach on 2009-07-28The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

A truly amazing show. This was first time seeing this band in person and I'm kicking myself for missing all of their previous tours. Here is a band that knows how to entertain. From Geoff Tate's amazing presence and showmanship to asskicking guitar riffs. The show was engaging, thoughtful, and truly sublime. I'm in awe !!!

    Queensryche was tight.

by Beeker on 2009-07-28The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

Its been along time since I have been to a smaller venue to see a band that was as big as these guys were. Immediately you felt like you were a part of the action. The sound was great and the band was tight and seemed like they were having fun. They played songs from 3 albums. "Rage Against Order", American Soldier, and Empire. I found the middle of the set lacking but that may be because I have not listened to the new album and was unfamiliar with the material. American Soldier includes voice interviews throughout the songs which I am not a fan of. Overall the music was great and I thoroughly enjoyed the night.

    A great night of music!!

by GDog on 2009-07-24The National - Richmond

Although they hit the stage 1/2 an hour late, Queensryche more than made up for it with a blistering 2 hour set of classics from "Rage for Order" and "Empire" as well as their latest album "American Soldier". Geoff Tate's vocals were album quality throughout and the band matched him stride for stride. No extended drum solos or pyro shows here, just one great song after another. If your only interest in the band is their 1988 release "Operation:Mindcrime" you're out of luck with this tour. The album is not touched. I think advertising for this event should mention the music being performed. "Mindcrime" is one of the best hard rock/metal albums ever produced; and while Queensryche's other works more than hold their own the fans that want "Eyes of a Stranger" and "Revolution Calling" should know ahead of time they're not going to get it. My hope is they have something big in the works for the album's 25th anniversary, as it was a disappointment to not have that album represented. Sidenote: "The National" is a fantastic venue with great acoustics and sight lines. Any chance you get to attend an event there will be well worth your time.
