About

RAH RAH IN CONCERT:

Canadian indie rock sextet Rah Rah has won over critics and fans alike with their sunny melodies, creative instrumentation, and the distinctive voice of lead singer Erin Passmore. In concert the band is all buoyant energy, bouncing along to upbeat songs like “Prairie Girl” and “My Guarantee” as they pass out Pop Rocks candy and toss confetti. They’re all phenomenally talented musicians, and they keep fans on their toes at their live shows by switching instruments on songs like “First Kiss”, where Passmore unexpectedly takes over the drums. With their sing-along-worthy melodies and infectious onstage energy, Rah Rah lives up to their name and gets ticket buyers cheering with party-worthy performances every time they take the stage.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Rah Rah was formed in Saskatchewan in 2005 by Erin Passmore (vocals/drums), Kyrie Kristmanson (trumpet/guitar/vocals), and Marshall Burns (guitar/vocals). They issued their debut EP Songs for Pasquala the following year, supporting the release with performances at the Regina Folk Festival and Pop Montreal. After expanding their lineup to include bass, keys, and violin, Rah Rah released their 2008 debut album Going Steady. They returend to the studio following an extensive tour of Canada, and in 2010 they released their sophomore album Breaking Hearts. The album was well received, but it was 2012’s The Poet’s Dead that really put them on the map, earning them their first appearance on the Canadian charts as well as a nomination for Canada’s prestigious Polaris Music Prize. In 2015 Rah Rah released their fourth album Vessels, a much-anticipated return that has fans eager to catch them on tour.

    Waste of money

by NotSoDearRouge on 2015-11-06The Mod Club - Toronto

Liked the song and listened to the album on Spotify - should have left it at that. They made people wait until 10:30, the opening band Rah Rah was a completely different genre. When they finally got on stage all I could hear was noise and feedback. Left after one song - waste of my time. Even the first band - from Montreal, was better than the rest. So the two stars are for that.
