About

What started as the RPM Gold Leaf Awards in 1964 by RPM editor and publisher Walt Grealis and record label executive Stan Klees, soon became The JUNO Awards in 1971. Named in tribute to Pierre Juneau, the first chairperson of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), the JUNO Awards were founded to raise the public profile and recognition of musical artists in Canada.

The JUNO Awards has evolved from an industry awards event to a weeklong festival that travels city to city across the country. It encompasses both public-facing fan events and industry/networking opportunities featuring a diverse array of Canadian artists and emerging talent. In addition to The JUNO Awards Broadcast, JUNO Week event programming includes JUNO Songwriters' Circle, JUNOfest, and more.

In 2002, The JUNO Awards went on the road to take the music to the fans and expanded its scope to include a series of public and private events outside of the Awards broadcast. Each host city has embraced their opportunity to support the JUNO Awards and build an enduring legacy of music programs in their market.

I had the best time. Michael Buble is the best host, the artists were great. I’ve been to the Juno’s many times and it’s always a fun experience.

  • Loved Buble and Murray. sad so few nominees attended

Needed a bigger stage..higher up. noe enough raxzze dazzle honouring the nominees and wi ners. but not many winners attending. loved the Canadiana spirit and patriotism expressed but could have been more.

A night of Canadian music from every genre. It was great to see all the variety of musical talent, from Michael Buble to Anne Murray to Nemesis to RezKidz. Rogers Arena was full of people who were there to hear some great music and they were not disappointed. The sound was amazing! How nice to go to an event and understand what was being said and sang. Plus my ears were not ringing when we left. I think there would have been more people there if the tickets weren't so expensive, they could have had the artists more visible to the audience but it was still a cool experience.

It was so nice to have a variety of great Canadian musicians performing. The greatest thing about the event was Musaca organization raising $ for kids across Canada to get instruments to play which they donate, in the schools!!!

  • What a party!!

by Nancy on 2025-04-02Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Loved it! The energy was eletric. I have two comments: 1. The last two Juno awards shows I have attended (Toronto in about 2023 and Vancouver 2025) I was dispointed or perhaps more surprised that the host does not come out when it is over to say good night and thank the audience. I realize the televised portion is over most likely but just a quick jump back on the stage and say good night just to end our experience. The Toronto show was especially quick ending, viola, the lights went on, atleast the Vancouver show ended ith Sum 41 doing a bow, but what a better ending it could have been if Michael had come out and said good night. 2. Plus a little warning on ticket purchase that some seats are in the direct path of extreme lighting. Myself and party were is diret line and had to hold our hands up to even see the stage when those lights came on. Luckily that was not for the entire show but sporatically thank goodness. A nice man in the walkway in front of us, threw us one of Michael's "HOME"tshirts as he could see we were quite affected by that light. Not a biggy, just part of a live show. My #1 comment more important then my #2 comment. Thanks for the party Michael and everyone involved. I / we had a ball! Nancy from Ontario
