Im not one to say this lightly. Until last friday my most memorable concert was U2. Some have come close to matching that since. However, when Yoav came out on to the stage at the intimate Marquee Room and began concocting sounds from his guitar and looping them, I was hooked! If you ever get the chance, do not miss him! And sit as close to the front as possible paying close attention to his feet working he pedals. Simply Amazing!
Went with a buddy and we were both very impressed. The man is so talented! Would definitely see him the next time he's in town again.
Awesome night! I love Yoav, he is very talented. It would have been great to see him play with a band as watching only one person on stage can be a little bit boring. However, he is too amazing for words and I really enjoyed it. The venue is also great.
Stumbled upon Yoav by accident. Loved his music and talent - something refreshing and different. Would have loved to take my teenagers though - this was at a "adult only" venue.
We loved the intimate setting of this concert! Yoav is so talented! Can't wait til he comes back to Calgary!
Yoav is soulful and creative, using only his guitar and his "beast" he creates a musical experience that is difficult to explain, but thoroughly enjoyable.
I was absolutely impressed with Yoav's amazing performance. He is incredibly talented and genuine. I was awed by him again. I was hoping he would have played a few more songs, but the fact he came out to sign autographs and chat made up for it.
There was little information about the event. All I could find out was that it started at 8:00. Which meant that the doors opened at 8:00 and we had to wait until 11:00 to actually see Yoav. We had to pay a $5 membership to get into the Starlight Room, which was something we didn't know. There was a long line of people waiting to buy memberships with only one person selling them. The concert was good, though the sound wasn't great. I would never go back to that venue for any reason.
YOAV IS AMAZING!! You really have to see him in person to realize just how amazing he really is!! Was my 2nd time to see him!
Having gone to Yoav's previous show in Edmonton, I knew to expect some amazing things, fact is: those expectations were blown away. He's improved immensely in just a couple short years. He's clearly much more comfortable on stage, which adds to the overall experience as he engages the crowd more. It's hard not to smile when Yoav so enthusiastically shows the crowd his new toy "The Beast" and all the neat little things it can do. Yoav played a solid set with favourites from his first album and great selections from his new. All in all? Absolutely fabulous.
