About

AC/DC IN CONCERT:

With dozens of driving anthems and countless epic concerts under their belt, AC/DC has become one of the most successful and recognizable hard rock bands ever. Powerhouse numbers like "You Shook Me All Night Long," "Highway to Hell," and "Back in Black" get ticket buyers headbanging along from the first few iconic chords, while a pyrotechnic stage show complete with fireworks, Jumbotrons, and stacks of cranked amplifiers ensures the whole arena sees, hears, and feels the thunder from start to finish. Legendary duck-walking guitarist Angus Young keeps crowds pumped with his relentless energy, doling out crushing riffs and lightning-fast licks with swagger to spare. And on the 2016 Rock or Bust Tour, special guest vocalist Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses steps in to lend his trademark range to AC/DC's earth-shaking sound, bringing a new edge to their larger-than-life performances.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Brothers Angus and Malcolm Young got the name AC/DC from the back of their sister Margret's sewing machine ñ the same one she used to sew the campy Catholic schoolboy uniform Angus used to wear on stage. The fledgling hard rockers started making a name for themselves in small Australian clubs in 1973, but things truly started to take off when they hooked up with wild-man singer Bon Scott the following year. Sadly, tragedy struck a few years later following the international success of 1979's Highway to Hell when Scott died after a night of heavy drinking. Encouraged by the support of the late singer's parents, the group doggedly carried on with new frontman Brian Johnson to complete work on their next album, Back in Black. Since its 1980 release, that album has sold an estimated 50 million copies worldwide on the back of quintessential rock staples like "You Shook Me All Night Long," "Hell's Bells," and the title track. The band maintained a steady recording and touring schedule for the next three decades before health issues began to take their toll. First Malcolm Young was forced to retire in 2014 with Parkinson's disease, then hearing loss sidelined Brian Johnson midway through their 2016 Rock or Bust Tour. AC/DC announced that Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose would finish the tour in Johnson's place, while the latter explored hearing aids that would allow him to rejoin the group in the future without further damaging his hearing (happily he noted that he'll still be able to record music). This never-say-die attitude over the past 40 plus years has further glorified AC/DC's legend for fans, who know they'll rock the stage no matter what.

AC/DC Rocks Big O and 54,000 Boomers, GenX & GenY

by dilbert on 2009-08-09Olympic Stadium - Stade Olympique - Montreal

I'm 54 years old. I know some of the members of the band are at least my age. I would have to take a two week rest if I was in Angus Young's shoes after the performance he puts on; an incredibale amount of energy from a small man. AC/DC as usual show why they are so loved; simple, hard work, loud and proud, honest, sense of humour. nothing held back. It's hard not to like them. Two and half hours of non stop high energy.

    AC/DC still rocking!

by murtie on 2009-08-09Olympic Stadium - Stade Olympique - Montreal

Great stage design, video, fun cartoon images. Angus' solo rocked our socks! The Answer's opening act sound wasn't great, couldn't hear well the lyrics.

AC/DC at Olympic stadium aug 8-09

by Bookman761 on 2009-08-09Olympic Stadium - Stade Olympique - Montreal

Sound quality was very bad. Could not make out what singer was singing or saying between songs. The visuals were good though. Lots of energy and almost worth the price.

Awesome show. They can still rock it out. Angus never stops he's like the energizer battery bunny just keeps going. Sound is HORRIBLE at the Big O. Couldn't hear the singing well, too much echo.

The concert was very good, as a Show, but unfortunately I don't know if it was because of the place(O.Stadium) or the group AC/DC but the sound was HORRIBLE!

by gloria on 2009-08-09Olympic Stadium - Stade Olympique - Montreal

Although the sound could have been better,ACDC did not disappoint!!!!!!!! I would absolutely see them again and would definetly recommend an ACDC concert at least once in your lifetime!!!!!! The sound at the Olympic Stadium could use alot of tweaking but for a true die hard fan it really didn't make a difference.

    AC/DC Rocked OUT!!!!

by Brassman on 2009-08-07Hallenstadion - Zurich

I had the chance to see AC/DC in Zurich Switzerland in April. The stadium only held 18,000 so it was small venue, but let me tell you I've see some amazing concerts in my time. NOTHING compares to AC/DC and I think the fact that it was a small venue made it that much more amazing I'm going to see them in Edmonton and Vegas. if you get a chance to get tickest, you'd be a fool not to buy them

    AC/DC Rocked!

by Blondo on 2009-08-04Giants Stadium - East Rutherford

As usual AC/DC brought down the house. They haven't lost it at all. The rain stopped, the band came out, and I felt like I was seventeen again. Angus has so much energy, I couldn't keep up lol. If you can possibly go see them, make it one of your goals. You won't regret it. We flew in from Canada and it was well worth it. To this day, I still think they are the best entertainers going. Thanks for keeping us young!!!

    AC/DC at Gillette Stadium 28/07/09

by AcDcFan on 2009-08-03Gillette Stadium - Foxborough

AC/DC rocked Gillette! It was their first show in the U.S. on this leg of the tour, so they had a lot of energy and Brian's voice was on key the whole time. Angus was amazing and his energy was unbelievable. The venue was great, stadium was filled, everyone seemed to be well behaved from what I could see. Our seats were in a great location (on the field, 13 rows back from stage right!). Would highly recommend seeing AC/DC now before it's too late. I would also recommend Gillette Stadium as a venue - it was very well organized from entrance to exit and we had a blast!

Rock and Roll Train To Hell

by Hertzian99 on 2009-08-03Giants Stadium - East Rutherford

AC/DC would have blown the roof off of Meadowlands Stadium if it had one. From the opening seconds of the concert, with a ripping bit of animation, the band played fierce, hard rocking, pump your fist music to the mass enjoyment of the tens of thousand of rockers in attendance. Angus and the boys continue to rock to the max with their new album "Black Ice" and mixed some of those songs into their great reportois. With the first number being Rock'n Roll Train they never slowed down. Classic gems such as Back In Black, Whole Lot of Rosie, She Got The Jack and Highway To Hell served up with pounding drums, throbbing bass, great rhythm guitar and of course the mighty Angus taking things to the next level. Brian Johnson never looked happier and was having the time of his life. A classic show ! Look forward to seeing them again two weeks from now in Ottawa.
