Disney’s ALADDIN is a dazzling and extravagant showcase of special effects — including a flying magic carpet during “A Whole New World” — as well as glittering-gold costumes and art deco-style sets that mirror the grandeur of a Busby Berkeley musical. One of Broadway’s most popular musical comedies, the show opened at the legendary New Amsterdam Theatre on March 20, 2014, and has since broken numerous house records (grossing over $500 million on Broadway). Eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken composed the show’s music. The lyrics are by two-time Oscar winner Howard Ashman (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid), as well as three-time Tony Award and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice and six-time Tony Award nominee Chad Beguelin. The book is by Beguelin and direction/choreography is by two-time Tony Award-winner Casey Nicholaw.

I really love this show, a lot of funky situation, the music and the caracter were so funny
I enjoyed the Aladdin show ,very well done. The only item that bothered me is that people arrive late and they are still let in. we had constantly people coming in the show and disturbing everyone to get to their seat. If you do not have the common since to show up on time for the others that do you should not be let in. maybe the theatre should be more firm on this. Its a total lack of respect for the artist and for us who spend our money for the show.
Truly amazing with outstanding theatrics, music and effects. Didn't want it to ever end!!!
I was excited to see this show on Broadway, as I love Aladdin, musicals and dancing but my expectations were blown out of the water! Not only would I recommend seeing this show, but if I had the time, I would have seen it twice. Definitely do not miss!
Great performance by all involved, but the Genie character is clearly the Star!! Danced in our seats...laughed out loud...smiled non stop. Wonderful theatre as well.
The Genie stole the show! Funny, unforgettable and very sparkly...a must see show if you are in NYC. Beautiful theatre.
Fun show and some great effects! Jasmine's voice while great could have been a bit stronger. Aladdin and Genie were fantastic. Great mix of classic songs & new ones. Did not dissapoint.
Great show! Really fun to watch but thought the end needed work. Not sure what, just something more spectacular.
First off, the theatre is beauutiful! True to New York style, it has amazing architecture and detail and I spent the first few moments after being seated to admire the theatre's interior. I've seen Aladdin musicals at Disneyland and Disneyworld before and it was always my favorite show at the Disney parks. This musical topped them. The genie stole the show - he was hilarious and energetic. Additional songs and dance numbers were added that still fit in with the original version of the Disney movie. I loved how the magic carpet ride was performed. My only comment is I would have enjoyed seeing Broadway try to bring to life the animals in the movie. If you're a huge Disney fan, this musical is DEFINITELY for you. Even if you're not, I still think you would enjoy it. My boyfriend does not particularly care for Disney and he had a great time.
This show as amazing!!!! Is a big production with magic touch!
The show and the cast are amazing I recommend it to everyone
The show was wonderful & spectacular. I liked it all; the songs, performers, scenes & ambience . The theater was full and I hardly managed to buy 2 tickets few days in advance. Just next time must buy tickets long time in advance to have more options for seats selection.
Excellent show not only for kids but for adults too. Very spectacular with gorgeous costumes and sets. The flying carpet is magical. Wonderful performances from the entire cast but it really is made special by James Monroe Iglehart as the Genie, and Adam Jacobs as Aladdin.
This show was so funny, the Genie was hilarious! It was my husbands first musical so I was nervous if the show wasn't great he'd never want to come to another musical and thankfully I think he will be joining me for more musicals in the future! The story was great, the new songs were really good, the only thing the show was missing was Apu!!
Beautiful costumes, amazing stage design, funny all through! Genie was the best!
Loved it. But the lower end of all the great broadway theatre I've seen over the years. The ending was lacklustre. It needs something.
This show was really out of this world. The Genie is a smash hit and worth the price of admission alone, then you add the fantastic costumes, wonderful singing and that magic carpet. This show is entertaining from every angle and you will be tapping your foot for hours after.
This show was so wonderful! It was funny, magical and romantic all at the same time. The costumes were AMAZING and every single actor played their heart out. This was one of the best performances I have ever seen. The audience gave a standing ovation in the MIDDLE of the show, so that is how great it was! I would see this again and again if I could!
Best show I've seen on Broadway yet!! The genie stole the show!!
Excellent, vibrant show, full of the songs from the Disney movie, humour. We all loved every minute of it. The Genie was superb !
