About

After establishing himself as one of country's biggest stars and consistent hitmakers over two decades, Alan Jackson undertook a labor of love in 2013 and released his first bluegrass album, appropriately dubbed The Bluegrass Album. Despite being somewhat of a niche release, it still reached No. 3 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, a testament to the huge and loyal fanbase Jackson has built over the years. He's sold more than 60 million albums worldwide over the course of his career, topped the country singles chart over 20 times and counts two Grammy Awards among the many statues in his trophy case. Among his best-known hits are "Don't Rock the Jukebox," "Chattahoochee," "Drive (For Daddy Gene)," "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)," A Georgia native, Jackson got his big break when his wife, a flight attendant, spotted country-pop legend Glen Campbell in an airport waiting room and slipped him one of Jackson's demo tapes. That led to a contact with Campbell's publishing company and a move to Nashville for the couple. Jackson released his debut album, "Here in the Real World," in 1990, and his new traditionalist style was an immediate hit, spawning five Top 5 hits. As he developed his catalog of hits, ticket sales for his concerts grew steadily. He continues to tour regularly, consistently drawing huge crowds to arenas.

Alan Jackson was one of my best concerts ever! The night flew by and I was sad that it was over. I could have listened to him for several more hours. The Winnipeg video was a nice touch - great idea! Would see him again in a heartbeat.

The sound and the trueness of Alan's and Terri's voices were amazing. Over all this was one of the best concerts I have been too in a long time. Excellent.

Was an awesome concert, he put on a great show and played a lot of his great tunes! Would definitely see him again! Would of been able to see him better if he was on the bigger screen more, videos were good though. Terri Clarke was also very good, first time to see her. Her sound system could have been better though. :)

  • Entire show was awesome

Alan is probably the most genuine artist out there right now. He doesn't run around the stage like a maniac, he doesn't bend over and flip his hair around, he just stands there and sings and tells you stories about his songs. Totally mesmerizing. He sang to a sold out concert of people from 16 years old to 80 years old, And he didn't disappoint anyone. The crowd was going crazy from start to finish.

  • Alan was unbelievable -- excellent performance

Alan Jackson gave a wonderful preformance, including both old and new songs. He inter acted well with the audience and put on a very good show. I would go and see him again. However the opening acts were not that great.

  • Alan Jackson is a class act!!

My wife and I truly enjoyed the Alan Jackson concert. He is such a great entertainer, with an amazing library of songs. His choice of hits that he performed that night was just perfect for us. Thanks AJ for "keeping it country." We love it and appreciate it. We also loved the way he inserted Winnipeg and Manitoba into parts of the songs, especially the montage during "Where I Come From"....real classy. Also....the staff at MTS center were very friendly and helpful.

What an excellent concert! Terry Clark is a headliner by herself, it was like a 2 for 1 concert special. Alan's introductions and personal anecdotes for some songs was very nice.

  • Alan Jackson and opening Acts Awesome

    by Jneaner16 on 2014-09-21MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

Alan Jackson was great. Doesn't bounce around the stage and flip his hair around about still deserves best entertainer award. Quiet, humble, genuine artist, talks to the crowd like you're a friend he's talking to. I could have listened to him for many hours more. One note tho - I was sitting to the side of the stage and if he had moved his mike up 2 feet more - there would not have been any obstruction of view for anyone. But they didn't and there were cords hanging right in front of me. Would have been extremely simple to ensure this didn't happen. Still loved the concert but please correct for future concerts.

  • Alan Jackson was fabulous.

This is the fourth time that I have seen Alan Jackson and to me this was the BEST. He was so up close and personal with the audience just like an ordinary guy speaking and singing to his friends.

Absolutely the best concert I have ever been to. I brought my whole family (7) to see the concert and am so glad I did. Alan Jackson is awesome, he's so personable and you can tell his music means a lot to him and he sings from the heart. The same can be said for Terri Clark, she sounds like one proud Canuck!

Enjoyed his show as I always do. Wasn't impressed with him coming back on for an encore and them part way he signed autographs and then left the stage. But I still liked the show.
