About
After establishing himself as one of country's biggest stars and consistent hitmakers over two decades, Alan Jackson undertook a labor of love in 2013 and released his first bluegrass album, appropriately dubbed The Bluegrass Album. Despite being somewhat of a niche release, it still reached No. 3 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, a testament to the huge and loyal fanbase Jackson has built over the years. He's sold more than 60 million albums worldwide over the course of his career, topped the country singles chart over 20 times and counts two Grammy Awards among the many statues in his trophy case. Among his best-known hits are "Don't Rock the Jukebox," "Chattahoochee," "Drive (For Daddy Gene)," "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)," A Georgia native, Jackson got his big break when his wife, a flight attendant, spotted country-pop legend Glen Campbell in an airport waiting room and slipped him one of Jackson's demo tapes. That led to a contact with Campbell's publishing company and a move to Nashville for the couple. Jackson released his debut album, "Here in the Real World," in 1990, and his new traditionalist style was an immediate hit, spawning five Top 5 hits. As he developed his catalog of hits, ticket sales for his concerts grew steadily. He continues to tour regularly, consistently drawing huge crowds to arenas.

Marvelous!
by countryforever on 2009-11-16Interior Savings Centre - KamloopsRating: 5 out of 5The concert was awesome. The musicians were exceptional, and of course Alan jackson was out of this world...
go for the music, not the performance
by DesignerDog on 2009-11-16Interior Savings Centre - KamloopsRating: 3 out of 5You know, I like Alan Jackson for the simplicity of his music. I must admit, though, it would be MUCH cheaper to stay home and listen to his cd's than to take in his show. The MUSIC was great. Sounded just like he does on the radio (minus the lyric fumble in "where we you when the world stopped turning). He just isn't a very energized performer. That worked for me cause I was feeling a little under the weather anyway, I was happy to get the "performance" part from George Canyon who opened for him. Glad I went. That box is checked.
Awesome
by BMM29 on 2009-11-16Interior Savings Centre - KamloopsRating: 5 out of 5Awesome....Awesome Awesome.. Down to earth entertainer... Can't say I enjoyed a concern or his songs and his tempo is very fast and his voice is all enthralling.
Alan Jackson was "kick ass!!!"
by bearcam on 2009-11-16Interior Savings Centre - KamloopsRating: 5 out of 5We would definitely love to see George Canyon again! Alan Jackson was no stop all around fun & entertaining. A great concert that got the crowd movin!!!!
Alan Jackson Southern Sweetie
by MissChar on 2009-11-16Interior Savings Centre - KamloopsRating: 5 out of 5Alan played long, loud and a ton of our favorites. He is a pleasure to watch live. Not a glitzy show but more like Johnny Cash shows used to be with the videos running behind him. If I could I would catch every concert on the tour I'd be doing it. Just a very, very entertaining, down to earth, talented man. He is so easy in concert. Just big tall handsome cowboy who is just an easy person. Laughs alot. Smiles all the time. His band are really awesome as well. I love a good steel guitar. You bet I'll be seeing him again. If I had of known I would have carried my camera even though tickets stated you weren't allowed. Lots of people had cameras.
Un....Beliveable
by Cheeeyou on 2009-11-16Interior Savings Centre - KamloopsRating: 5 out of 5I two stepped my boots off and it was awesome! AJ is even more amazing live than I imagined. YEHAW!
Alan Jackson did not disappoint
by Hinges on 2009-11-16Interior Savings Centre - KamloopsRating: 5 out of 5The cocnert was one of the best I have been to in a long time. My only criticism was that it took over 45 minutes between the opening act and Alan hitting the stage. The wait was well worth it but it seemed a little long. He did a lot of his number ones and the crowd sang right along with him- that is always an indicator of a die hard fan! Can't wait til he comes back again!
Alan Jacskon was powerful
by jonzi on 2009-11-16Interior Savings Centre - KamloopsRating: 4 out of 5His music, his lyrics, his stature on stage....he is the epitomy of class. My wife and I were very impressed with the music and his delivery...not a wild crazy country rock guy bouncing around the stage....just a simple yet strong performance of greatness. We were 8 rows up along the side...excellent seats. I felt sorry for people in floor seats who simply wanted to sit and enjoy...but had no choice but to stand the entire performance because of the large amount of fans who did want to stand. I recommend anyone in any concert venue...do not sit on the floor seats unless if you want to sit and watch...won't happen. We love Alan!
Canyon / Jackson.....amazing
by Winkeewoo on 2009-11-16Interior Savings Centre - KamloopsRating: 5 out of 5George Canyon was great!!! It was exciting to see how he wore the Kamloops Blazer jersey to encourage fans to support our local team! It was very nice how he explained the one song that he wrote for his son. Alan Jackson was amazing! It was awesome the energy that he reflected to the crowd. It was loud and hopefully he truly appreciated how much us Kamloopsians enjoyed his performance and the fact that he came to Kamloops!!! All around it was an awesome experience and I wouldn't hesitate at all to see either one of them again in concert!!!!
a real southern gentleman
by ladycanuck on 2009-11-16Interior Savings Centre - KamloopsRating: 5 out of 5Alan strolled out on stage and started singing. I think the only song he missed was "Baloney on White Bread". He ended with a montage of pictures from our area along with "Good Times". I loved the show, pretty low key but very entertaining. His backup band is awesome.
Alan Jackson / George Canyon make a perfect duo.
by PlayItAgain on 2009-11-16Interior Savings Centre - KamloopsRating: 5 out of 5George Canyon was unbelievable. Loved him could have played longer. Alan Jackson was perfect. His laid back styling, beautiful ballets were great. Had meet and greet with him, that was disappointing though. Just a hand shake/photo line-up. Didn't talk to us or anything. The only other disappointing part of the night is he did not sing "I still love Bologna". Always throwing lots of guitar picks into crowd which was great too. Overall, this was a unforgettable night.

George Canyon was fantastic. He really knew what his job was....warming up the crowd for Alan Jackson and he did it very well. Alan Jackson was amazing. Played all of his hits and kept the crowd on their feet and screaming for more. Only disappointment was that he didn't come back with a couple of encore songs instead of just one. Great instrumentals as well.

45 min between George Canyon and Allan Jackson is a bit long, otherwise great show

Alan Jackson gave an incredible performance. He played all the songs I loved and I liked how he let us see his family on video. It made the concert more personal and down to earth. I would see him again!!!
fantastic
by sabpatmid on 2009-11-16Interior Savings Centre - KamloopsRating: 5 out of 5George Canyon was a great opening act. Lively, interactive with audience, great songs, played well. The gap between Canyon and Jackson was a little too long. Alan Jackson came on and the audience lit up. People dancing, swaying and joining in their favourite songs. Some I hadn't heard, were full on great sentiments and melody. Loved the pictures along with the songs. We were sitting in "C" section, and a large set of speakers hung directly in our view of the big screen, which was a little disappointing at times. The amazing backup to Jackson was the best I've heard in a long time. All of them stars in their own right. A very worthwhile event.
alan jackson
by Anonymous on 2009-11-16Interior Savings Centre - KamloopsRating: 5 out of 5alan jackson can still put on a show like no other.
George Canyon/Alan Jackson were both fantastic!
by McGoo11 on 2009-11-16Interior Savings Centre - KamloopsRating: 5 out of 5George started us off and wow, what a starter it was! Full of energy, fun, talent and somewhat personalized with our city's hockey jersey; then he signed it and threw it into the crowd. That man was truly unforgetable; he won't be an opener long, I'll tell you that! Alan came on throwing out guitar picks to the crowd; he was a sight. He does not have to run around the stage trying to prove something - his vocals, his comfort on that stage; he demanded attention and got it. I saw him 10 years ago as well; I have to say this performance was 40 times better; it is true, we all age with grace and experience. All in all it was one of the best concerts I have attended in a long time; well done!
