About

After establishing himself as one of country's biggest stars and consistent hitmakers over two decades, Alan Jackson undertook a labor of love in 2013 and released his first bluegrass album, appropriately dubbed The Bluegrass Album. Despite being somewhat of a niche release, it still reached No. 3 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, a testament to the huge and loyal fanbase Jackson has built over the years. He's sold more than 60 million albums worldwide over the course of his career, topped the country singles chart over 20 times and counts two Grammy Awards among the many statues in his trophy case. Among his best-known hits are "Don't Rock the Jukebox," "Chattahoochee," "Drive (For Daddy Gene)," "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)," A Georgia native, Jackson got his big break when his wife, a flight attendant, spotted country-pop legend Glen Campbell in an airport waiting room and slipped him one of Jackson's demo tapes. That led to a contact with Campbell's publishing company and a move to Nashville for the couple. Jackson released his debut album, "Here in the Real World," in 1990, and his new traditionalist style was an immediate hit, spawning five Top 5 hits. As he developed his catalog of hits, ticket sales for his concerts grew steadily. He continues to tour regularly, consistently drawing huge crowds to arenas.

Allen Jackson was great ,the opening act mediocer at best ( Ryan Laird ) it was one of the shortest shows I have been to, for the price of the tickets I felt short changed. What was there was a good show.

Fantastic show put on by Alan Jackson. I was surprised at the number of young people at the show. The crowd was so welcoming and supportive of his music. My husband and I sat in section 6 on the floor. Thank goodness for the large screens because a great many of the fans stood for a better part of the show and it was hard to get a glimpse of him on stage, only by way of the big screens. I would recommend his show to anyone. He is my favourite country singer.

  • As his song says its definately a "Good Time"!!!

by Showgun on 2012-04-23Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

It was our first time seeing him live and he did not dissappoint. His band was tight and his voice just as sweet as we expected. He took time to sign various objects for fans that were willing to rush the stage, including shirts, hats & even cowboy boots. We all agreed he seemed charming, humble, and down to earth, thanking the crowd throughout the performance. He made numerous references to Hamilton, Ontario & Canada that got a rise out of the locals. We all left with huge smiles on our faces and a skip in our step. Thanks Alan!!!

Copps is such a great venue for concerts and Alan didn't disappoint. No fancy lights or explosions just Alan doing what he does best singing his simple songs with meaning that hit home.

Seriously love Alan! But he did stand there and put his hands in his pockets. and the stage had no catwalk so you couldnt even get close!!!! But he was still great! Awesome voice in real life STILL and no lip synching!

We really enjoyed the show and hearing all of his hits once again. His 9-11 song is the best there is and means alot to us here in Canada as we shared in many feelings at that time.

  • AJ Rules!

by BetsyCalhoun on 2011-04-04Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

Alan Jackson was perfect! My favourite moment was when he played Sally's song Okay, my other favourite moment was when he played Good Time!!! He is amazingly powerful!! And Drive was perfect too. His graphics and big screens providea hellova show no matter where you sit, and really add to his show. A lot of professionalism. A lot of class. His opening act was phenomenal too - he's ready to headline I think!

  • Alan Jackson with George Canyon---great!!!!!

by Beagle on 2011-04-04Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

The Concert was beyond my expectations. George Canyon was awesome. He is worth the price of the ticket alone! Alan Jackson was non-stop with great hits. His Encore was not so great.....my son says. The concert was well worth going to.

  • What a Great Show!!

by countrymusicgirl on 2011-04-02Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Everything was awesome, I ended up with no voice!! ... I saw Alan Jackson a few years ago at the same venue, with Brooks & Dunn in the same concert! It is just so refreshing to see each time a different show from Alan Jackson, each time better and better! George Canyon the "opening" this time was as well FANTASTIC! I knew every single song of both!! ... and the after party!! was also great! at the "Oil City Roadhouse" with George Canyon was exellent, because it was the middle of the week, the place was not packed and everybody could actually dance (well, until some drunk showed up ... funny, anyway!) ... overall it was an AWESOME night!!

  • Alan Jackson is the best

by OldCountry on 2011-04-01Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was everything I expected. Good music. A mix of old and new. He belted out all of the memorable songs. Good back up band and good pre concert performers.
