Alec Benjamin on Tour
Alec Benjamin simply refers to himself as a "narrator."
Inspired by Eminem, Paul Simon, and Citizen Cope, the Phoenix-born, Los Angeles-based songwriter fashioned a cinematic, lo-fi sound that stirred up a buzz online right out of the gate, landing him a major label deal by the age of 18. A day after he turned in his first album, he was dropped by the label he thought would take his artist project to the moon. However, it was going to take a lot more to stop him. Alec immediately hit the road for a self-booked European tour in May 2016. He performed "parking lot shows" for fans outside of Shawn Mendes and Troye Sivan concerts, handing out business cards to leave a tangible keepsake for those listening and building his brand from the ground up.
Shortly after the tour, he jumped in the studio with Jon Bellion and ended up earning a co write on the pop star's debut album, "New York Soul (Part II). This session would also open the door for Alec to join Bellion on tour directly after. With an insatiable urge to rise to the top, the tenacious prodigy found himself back performing in parking when he wasn't on-stage opening for Bellion. Knowing that some of those fans would search for him after the performances, Alec made it his mission to consistently uploaded one new song every two weeks to his YouTube channel and build a catalog his fans could listen to. Within the span of six months, he logged over 165 shows and amassed 150K YouTube subscribers simply through perseverance and a D.I.Y. attitude.
Alec managed to hit even bigger strides in 2017 when his viral hit "I Built A Friend" ignited online, clocking nearly four million Spotify streams in under a year and earning airplay for millions of Americans on the national TV show, America's Got Talent.
As for 2018, "Let Me Down Slowly" is the first single off Alec's debut album that will herald a new chapter for the extraordinary story teller. Balancing relatable yet mature lyrical content with vitalizing production, he pleads, "Now, I'm slipping through the cracks of your cold embrace, oh please, please, could you find a way to let me down slowly?" atop a sentimental yet powerful drum-guitar ensemble.
While his story is certainly one of a kind, Alec's narrative is only just beginning.
Alec is such a great singer, his voice is incredible! I loved how sweet he was to us fans, the crowd interaction was amazing. My only complaint would be that I came to the concert in a bad mood and didn’t have the best seats so that’s more of a me issue than one with the concert. Overall a really good concert though :))
As a single working mom, finding time to attend this concert was a struggle. I worried about feeling out of place attending alone. Alec was just so wholesome, the crowd felt safe and welcoming. We were all having an incredible time. Such a healing experience. His music hits deep, has helped my healing journey in ways i never imagined and has more psychodynamic reflections than a freudian textbook. 10/10 would definitely make up 3 call shifts to attend if he comes back to Toronto.

Setlist was amazing. Got front row very easily, was able to get chances to speak with him, was able to get signed merchandise, venue was beautiful, very easy getting out.
everything about the show was amazing! i just wish the venue had been bigger ad it was difficult to fit on the floor
The show was perfect, Alec was really sweet as always (I had a meet and greet ticket) but the instructions for the time we had to be there we confusing and stressful: it asked to be there at 19h, so one hour before the doors openned but then said the doors openned at 19h. When i tried to call to make sure of the right time, it was either closed or the people aswering did not know the answer. On the app it said it could take up to 48h to get an answer but the info email was sent the day before the show... I was finally told i had to be there at 18h30 but I stressed the whole day about not being there at the right time. (I put 5 stars because Alec's show really was incredible and I would go back in a second)
Alec is an amazing artist and a phenomenal performer!!! 10/10 would go see again!!
The crowd was amazing, Alec is such a good person and his songs are great, so much better in person too! He was very interactive with fans. Honestly and truly, if you have the chance to see one of his concerts, I 100% recommend it! Even the security guards are super friendly.
The concert was absolutely amazing I cried when he came out on stage lol. he interacted with fans and told stories and sang beautifully! He didn’t sing two songs off the album which I was a bit sad about since they are some of my favourites but he sang some other songs I wasn’t expecting and that definitely made up for it. I will for sure be trying to get tickets to all his shows from now on.
The atmosphere was insane and the venue fit perfectly with the concert. They also handed out free water to people on the floor which was amazing because you could barely move! Overall amazing experience
It was so much funnn we loved it and we were screaming so loud. We lost our voices it was amazing.

Doors opened at 7:00pm but getting there at 7:15pm meant an almost hour long wait in line to get in. It wrapped around the building. No idea where end of line was to even get in to it. End of line for merch was hard to find when inside. Just seemed not organized.
This was my first concert ever and it was amazing! The Staff were amazing and very kind! And the service was great!

Recently just got into Alec's music and the night of the concert felt like such a safe space. Very fun and energetic.
Alec engaged with the audience whilst keeping up with his songs. Crowd was LIT and knew all of his songs. Had one of the best evenings of 2022.

Waited 3x more time than the music for them to come on stage and change artists. Music was great and artists moved from songs smoothly and excellent! Lights and fog were setup good!
