I only knew one song ... When You Say Nothing At All ... but loved her angelic voice. I recognized a couple of cover songs but that was it. Didn't matter, I'm glad I went. I liked when she chatted with the audience...comedic nature and mesmorizing singing voice.
Fantastic concert by Alison. The voice of an angel that almost had me weeping with joy
She never disappoints just wish I could afford better seats. Not only does she sing beautifully she is a beautiful person as well. Very talented.
I heard the voice of an angel! The notes she hits are so pure your ears will cry.
Excellent artist, excellent show, excellent venue.
Excellent concert. Very pure, Very simple. No bangs and whistles. No gimmicks. No razz-ma-tazz. The musicians were incredible. Straight generic music and incredible harmonies. Mixture of a couple of Union Station people and a couple from another group she also works with (last name of Cox). They sang straight for 1-1/2 hours no intermission. The music covered all genres: blue-grass, (my favourite); country, gospel and straight ballads. Other than her two hits that are my favourite (everyone else’s too undoubtedly)… she sang Glen Campbell’s “Gentle on My Mind”. She did that absolutely perfectly with all the riffs and inflections in all the right places—and that, of course reduced me to tears easily turned into sobbing!
After almost 30 years of playing together, Alison Krauss and her band mates provide a show that is pure perfection. Flawless vocals and instrumentals, beautiful harmonies. With excellent sound quality, the Sony Centre was a very good venue for this concert. The only down side was the audience's complete lack of rhythm combined with a strange need to clap along (well, maybe not "along" exactly). Kudos to the performers for not letting that impact them!!!
My wife and I moved up during the on-core. It was so much better. 1 row
Along with my son I witnessed one of the very best live shows ever on June 25th, 2018. As a fan of Ms. Krauss I was expecting a superior performance. What I got was an exquisite, polished, ultra-professional, grace-filled, poignant, groove-heavy, note-perfect, sublimely subtle display of elite talent that I'll never forget. Living up to being the most awarded singer in history (twenty-seven Grammy's before her fiftieth birthday) is a monumental feat by any measure. Alison, and her phenomenal band, donned that mantle with stunning ease and an irresistible power that left the packed house gasping. If you enjoy live music making the effort to see Alison Krauss in person will be a decision you will not regret.
