    We loved it!

by Sara on 2024-03-13Meridian Hall - Toronto

It was so special to see Amadeus on a big screen with a live orchestra playing the music! We loved that there was also a choir to sing some of the music throughout the film. The whole experience was so special, we absolutely loved it!!!

Marvelous - A unique way to experience a classic

    by MondaysWithRobbie.com on 2024-03-13Meridian Hall - Toronto

Saw this for the second time in this format last Friday night. I knew what to expect. This is THE movie to see with a live orchestra playing. The classic movie from 1984, with outstanding performances, with live music (with a choir) playing the soundtrack. Brilliant. A full theatre with an added fun bonus of some audience members dressed in period costumes with wigs! It would be a great idea to have the whole audience like that in period costumes!! One of my favourite movies of all time played brilliantly. A definite must see!

    Rock me Amadeus

by JK on 2024-03-12Meridian Hall - Toronto

It was so great to be out in public with like minded people to watch and listen to pieces of work that were created to be experienced in person within a community not on a phone or through Zoom. Please do this again!!!

    Good mid orchestra level

by Mare on 2024-03-12Meridian Hall - Toronto

We had row O orchestra level towards the middle so as to get the best sound and good view. Did not disappoint. Music awesome! Newer chairs in Meridian Hall but if you’re over 5’10” it’ll be snug but doable. Only negative is that they allow late-comers to disrupt your experience. They should be held back for a natural scene break. Soooo annoying!

    Late arrivals

by Tammy on 2024-03-12Meridian Hall - Toronto

I’ve never see over a 100 people arrive late and be allowed to ruin first 15 minutes of a production. They should have been made to wait till intermission - horrible for performers and those of us that arrived on time. Felt sorry for staff trying to seat these idiots. Delay the start of production or make them wait!!! Great show minus first 15 minutes

    Brilliant performance

by FiDi Guy on 2024-03-12Meridian Hall - Toronto

Saw this last Saturday at the Meridian Hall in Toronto. Brilliant way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of a spectacular film. The TO Live Orchestra and Amadeus Choir elevated an already classic film to a new level of authenticity and enjoyment, to a packed house who responded with multiple standing ovations. Bravo, and brava!

    Amazing!!

by IzzyD on 2024-03-12Meridian Hall - Toronto

This was an experience I won’t soon forget. The movie, I was, of course, familiar with. The orchestra and the choir were so good it made the hair stand up on my arms. Mozart at its finest. What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday night. I was disappointed with the cell phones in use and the fact some audience members left before the orchestra was finished. Top notch entertainment

    Wonderful!

by Kirsten on 2024-03-12Meridian Hall - Toronto

The music and singing were seamless with the film. I sometimes forgot that there was an orchestra! The music was excellent. Really enjoyed the evening.

    Great movie, outstanding orchestra

by Ali on 2024-03-12Meridian Hall - Toronto

Loved the film and music. I had misunderstood when booking tickets and thought we'd be seeing a live play. Had I known, I'd never have booked so close to the stage. We spent 20 minutes trying to arrange new seats and missed the beginning of the play as admission during the film was restricted to intervals. No need to book seats up close. The best seats are much further back.

    Orchestra was amazing

by Felix on 2024-03-12Meridian Hall - Toronto

Was impressed with the orchestra-serving popcorn at these venues was a bit distracting. The movie theaters would drown out the rustling of the popcorn bag being opened,...however at this venue, it didn't. Another minor annoyance people walking in late and having to stand up to let them pass. As well the chatter and phone scrollling while the movie was going on was very distracting. Again the orchestra was amazing

    Was ok but not great

by Mozart fan on 2024-03-12Meridian Hall - Toronto

The venue is more run down than I remember and lack of parking is a real issue. The screen could have been bigger for the movie. The audience was allowed in once the show started causing major disruptions and since it was dark, late comers were stumbling around in the dark tripping over people. Missed parts of the show because of these buffoons. If you cant make it on time, too bad wait for intermission. The orchestra and choir were great thankfully. I would not return to this venue.

    AWESOME PRESENTATION

by ADLER on 2024-03-12Meridian Hall - Toronto

This was a wonderful experience, the movie, orchestra, the singers and the atmosphere were awesome, with no complaints whatsoever. If I were allowed to wish, a bigger screen would have been ideal. I was on the balcony (the Second one), and I could not see the musicians (full orchestra). The movie was exceptional, and the musicians were extraordinary. I would go again if this show were to be featured again. I would buy better seats to be in the middle of the action.

    Seamless, high quality sound, amazing

by Inna on 2024-03-12Meridian Hall - Toronto

It all felt very smooth and the highest quality of singing and music that you would expect in the film except if was live, seemless, held our attention for the full duration of the film and music, amazing experience.

    Sadly, disappointing

by Maia on 2024-03-11Meridian Hall - Toronto

The orchestra and the choir were great. Unfortunately, the 2 people sitting behind us made the whole evening a nightmare. I don't think they appreciated the music of Mozart as they were laughing and snorting throughout the whole movie. Honestly, I don't know why they were even there. Mozart is my favourite composer and I was really looking to a wonderful evening of Mozart's music. Unfortunately, I went home with a migraine.

Beautiful music set to an epic film

by Lexie on 2024-03-11Meridian Hall - Toronto

The orchestra and choir did a superb job on this amazing movie. Such talented musicians! Hearing so many of Mozart’s works in a 3hr block is truly a treat. I hope they repeat this movie regularly!
