I had never been to an event where someone just talks on stage for the whole show, so I wasn't sure what to expect. At first it felt a little strange, but it wasn't hard to get into Bruce's storytelling of his history (Iron Maiden was the first band that I loved as a preteen). I loved all of the photos and wish that there had been a few more!
It was my first “spoken word” experience. I liked how it started off but after 20 minutes, I could not take it anymore. A lot of boomer humor, some nice pics of the evolution of the band and some aviation stuff. Overall it seemed like a bragging session vs a sharing session. Should have spent the ticket money on some music instead.
I have never been to a speaking event, so I didn’t know what to expect! It stArted out kind of slow, but Bruce’s story and photographs were ver cool! It was neat to see someone that I grew up admiring in such a stripped down format!

Bruce was great. Event house staff were very friendly and customer service oriented. Venue has awesome acoustics. Wish Bruce would have used more images behind him from his personal collection to keep it visually interesting (not that he wasn’t - doing plenty of movements himself). People I was with were really wanting a pic or selfie with him or meet n greet. No information from ticket master or his website on that. I assume this was due to Covid leftovers? Merch & sizes very limited. No book available to purchase either. Hope he comes back with another round I’m sure there are more stories to tell.
I knew I adored Bruce Dickinson, but I wasn't sure what to expect from this. He was truly amazing. His stage presence is so fantastical. He's basically a cartoon character in real life, who is bouncing around the stage regaling us of his tales of his early life, up to later years, with a lot of humor and sincerity. I loved it and would go again if he came.
Bruce talks us through a few stories about his life for 90 minutes, then does a 'prewritten' Q&A. As a life long Iron Maiden fan, it is cool to hear Bruce talk, but the overall experience is weak. The humor falls rather flat. The stories are neither shocking or outrageous for the life of a true rock star. Much of the talk centered around aviation, little about music. Attend if you enjoy Maiden. If you don't go you are not missing anything important in Maiden history.
As a lifelong Maiden fan, it was great ro hear the stories of Bruce's beginnings with both the band and his flying career. The Q&A was terrific! Drove from Northern Ontario for the show, and looking forward to the concert in Oct in Toronto!
Bruce Dickinson was very entertaining and extremely energetic as he talked about his life and his adventures…
I didn't stop smiling at all the antidotes being told by this inspirational human being. Kept me and the entire audience captivated for 2 hours straight. Bruce has had a fascinating life and if you get a chance to buy his book or see him live in person - please do so.
