Anamanaguchi on Tour

Anamanaguchi, the chiptune rock band from New York City, is on tour and the excitement is electric. The four-member band featuring lead songwriters/guitarists Peter Berkman and Ary Warnaar, bassist James DeVito, and drummer Luke Silas are known for their creation of video game music.Their unconventional sound is created by combining guitar, bass and drums with sounds from synthesizers in vintage arcade machines, computers and video game consoles. Their music was used in the popular video game "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game." Onstage, Anamanaguchi gives a performance as unique as their music. Fans enjoy their eccentric energy and boisterous stage presence. Although they got their start by creating video game music, the popular band is anything but a novelty in concert. Their live performance is a fully immersive audiovisual experience, packed with sensory stimulation from upbeat, dynamic sounds to eye-popping visuals. Scott Pilgrim VS. The World : The Game Soundtrack: The Tour, is the band's 2022 tour.

Anamanaguchi Live in Concert

Anamanaguchi formed in 2004. Their first album, Dawn Metropolis, was released in 2009 and kicked off their rise to fame. The driving force of their success was the release of their hit soundtrack for the 2010 video game, "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game." Since then, the band has released two more albums, Endless Fantasy in 2013 and [USA] in 2019. Anamanaguchi creates their wildly unique sound by using hacked Nintendos, Game Boys and 16-bit soundscapes, and combining the sound with punk, pop and rock music styles. The four-person band takes their inspiration from a combination of their favorite mainstream rock bands, such as Weezer and The Beach Boys, combined with sounds from video games like "Zelda" and "Super Mario Brothers." In an interview with Retrovole.com, drummer Luke Silas Peter stated that the band's catchy name came from an inside joke developed during the band members' fashion industry internships at Armani, Prada and Gucci. "There were a few times where people would be really f***ed up at these parties and just be like, 'Alright, Anamanaguchi boys...,'" he recalled. "And we thought it was so funny; it became like an inside joke. We were like, 'Well, we're going to start this band. Why not Anamanaguchi?' So we left our internships and hit the road." Anamanaguchi now finds themselves playing sold-out shows around the world. They've also performed at events such as the popular immersive art experience, Meow Wolf.
