About
ANDREW RIPP IN CONCERT:
From his days penning pop rock gold for artists like Ryan Cabrera to his acclaimed solo work, Andrew Ripp has remained a songwriting force to be reckoned with. Seeing Ripp in concert, it’s hard to imagine him ever writing for someone else -- he was born for the spotlight, a fact he’s proven time and again with his outsized performances on tour. Taking the stage with his acoustic guitar, Ripp stomps along to his energetic tunes while he works the crowd with the ease and confidence of a seasoned professional. Whether he's belting out the soulful vocals of “I Won’t Let Go” or rocking to the spirited strumming of “Savior”, Ripp always impress ticket buyers with his passion and showmanship anytime he tours.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Singer-songwriter Andrew Ripp was born and raised in the Chicago suburb of Palatine, but he moved to California after high school to pursue a career as a singer. He broke into the mainstream in the mid-‘00s when he co-wrote Ryan Cabrera’s album You Stand Watching, a gold-selling success that helped Ripp launch his solo career a few years later. His 2008 debut album Fifty Miles to Chicago chronicled his conflicted relationship with his childhood home and his parents’ divorce, winning tons of favor with fans and landing at No. 1 on the iTunes singer/songwriter chart. Following extensive touring that included a series of shows for U.S. troops stationed abroad, Ripp released his sophomore album She Remains the Same to another No. 1 spot on the iTunes charts. Since then he’s toured with Andy Grammer, Sara Bareilles, and The Plain White T’s and released two more critically acclaimed albums, including his stripped-down 2014 full-length Simple.
