About

For English metalcore act Asking Alexandria, years of extensive touring paid off in 2013 when their third album From Death to Destiny debuted at No. 5 on The Billboard 200. Tapped by Korn as a supporting act on their 2013 tour, Asking Alexandria quickly earned a reputation for their amped up live show, resulting in a series of headlining concerts with Sevendust, All That Remains, and others. The band's touring success in 2013 continued an already-successful run on the road – in 2012, fans clamored for tickets for their sold-out club dates in North America and the U.K., which drew praise for their mosh pit-inducing energy. Asking Alexandria's roots go back to 2003, when guitarist Ben Bruce helmed the group's first incarnation in Dubai. In 2008, Bruce returned home to England and formed an entirely new group, while retaining the Asking Alexandria name. After signing with indie label Sumerian, the band released its debut album Stand Up and Scream in 2009, and followed it up in 2011 with Reckless & Relentless, which peaked at No. 9 on The Billboard 200. Asking Alexandria's current lineup includes Bruce, vocalist Danny Worsnop, guitarist Cameron Liddell, bassist Sam Bettley, and drummer James Casells.

It was a really good show!! The groups played all of their best songs. But Asking didn't play enough songs.

  • As I Lay Dying: Amazing, Asking Alexandria: Crap

    by machine0111 on 2012-11-20MaCEwan Hall - CalgaryRating: 2 out of 5

As I Lay Dying put on an amazing show! Brought the energy and sounded tight. Memphis May fire was great as well. Asking Alexandria however was the worst live performance I have ever seen from any band, ever. Danny must have been extremely high and or drunk as when he was singing he was way off tune and forgetting lyrics all over the place. With this said, he did only "attempt" to sing 50% of the songs. The other half of the time he just wasnt singing at all or sticking the mic into the crowd. There were may to many recorded elements to their set and their live performance wasn't in-sync with them. At one point Danny walked off the stage then said how he thought their set was done and forgot they still had songs left to play. Loved AA but I have lost a lot of respect for them and would never pay money to see them again. With this being said, go see As I Lay Dying. At least they put on a show for their fans.

  • It was alright

by Justastupidnicknametttttt on 2012-11-19Edmonton Event Centre - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

Well I was hoping to see suicide silence and Attila but none of those bands could make it. Which is understandable but they never replaced Attila. Sound quality was so terrible I had to leave halfway through asking Alexadria. They were absolutely terrible. Only reason I give this three stars is because as I lay dying was really good and made this show worth going!

  • As I Lay Dying and Memphis May Fire stole the show

by studmanjosh on 2012-11-18Edmonton Event Centre - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

How Asking Alexandria was the headliner is beyond me, Memphis May Fire and As I Lay Dying blew them away, AA should have opened fallowed by MMF with AILD headlining for sure! This show was amasing, props to the bands and will see as I lay dying every time they come back to town!

The show was amazing other than the fact that asking Alexandria was headlining and not as I lay dying

  • Great Bands

All the bands killed! I had a great time! Great energy! I met all of I SEe Stars, they are such cool people! Asking Alexandria disappointed me when they lied saying they'd sign autographs and then didn't :/ but overall the whole thing was AMAZING!

  • Unreal!!

Every band was incredible. It was loud, obnoxious and raw, everything you could hope for in a metal show.
