AURORA IN CONCERT:
Rising Norwegian folk pop goddess AURORA has won over critics and fans alike with her stunning voice, synth-soaked sound, and spellbinding stage presence. The Scandinavian songstress is the epitome of style, taking the stage in futuristic fashions and rocking platinum blonde hair, but her cutting-edge look takes a backseat to her achingly beautiful vocals and soaring melodies. In concert she immerses ticket buyers in the emotional pull of lush tracks like “Runaway” and “Real Life”, closing her eyes as she sings and pantomiming her lyrics with otherworldly interpretive gestures. With her hugely anticipated debut album All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend generating big buzz in 2016, AURORA has fans eagerly awaiting the chance to experience her luminous live shows.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Bergen, Norway-born Aurora Aksnes started writing songs at age 10 and was discovered by a management agency during high school after a friend uploaded one of her tracks to a Norwegian streaming site. After releasing the songs “Puppet” and “Awakening” she signed with Decca Records and scored a breakthrough with the 2015 track “Runaway”, which racked up a million views on Spotify and got shout-outs from major music outlets like NME. Her 2015 debut EP Running With the Wolves drew even more praise, earning a Spellemannprisen (Norwegian GRAMMY) for Best Newcomer and propelling her onto the festival circuit. In late 2015 AURORA scored a Top 20 hit in the UK with a cover of Oasis’ “Half the World Away”, another big success that has fans looking forward to her 2016 full-length debut album.

One of my favourite artists out there. She has such talent, she is adorable, funny, has a genuine personality… I adore her work and will go see her everytime she comes back in Montréal.

The show was soooooo good that I don't have the words to describe it! She is flawless! Her voice perfect, the setup amazing, the atmosphere electric and the sound quality amazing!! I am looking forward for her next show already!

Aurora had such a deep emotional connection with the audience. Their presence on stage was breathtaking. They even took care of a fan who wasn’t feeling well in the pit. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that Aurora has the same singing voice as on their albums. All in all, I had chills all throughout and cried a few times, thanks to this absolute queen.
Great venue, great music, great vibe. Had an amazing time, one of my all time favs!
Aurora was perfect as usual, she has such a beautiful soul & voice - The only downside was the History theatre, they only put speakers near the stage so for people who are sitting you were not able to hear it well. Also for most of the concert time TVs were on with commercials, and they are right above you so it was making it difficult to focus on the music & stage - Other than these it was amazing!
Aurora is such a beautiful soul, she brings out the best in everyone! Her singing is so real and her words so touching. Even though we were crowded and hot standing on the floor and I couldn't see very well, all the people around us were thoughtful and kind. One woman offered to let me stand in front of her, several times. Thank you! Aurora apologized because she said her voice wasn't at it's best that night. I don't think anyone noticed. One thing that would have improved the show was having video screen so people could see. Also, for the venue, there should be a more organized way to exit the building and the parking lot.
Aurora was the top of my bucket list through the entire pandemic. She blew all expectations out of the water! Didn’t know I could love her anymore then I already did! Brought 3 friends and they have sworn they will never miss one of her shows from here out! My heart is so full it’s running over!
The venue was great Loved the table seats. Aurora was perfect. Even though she said she wasn't 100 percent. Perfect size for seeing a concert.
Aurora sounded amazing and while her stage design was simple, it was effective and the lights really amplified the experience! Security and staff at the venue were very professional and helped to make the show run smoothly from beginning to end.
To see and hear her perform live was such a divine experience! My body, soul & spirit has been cleansed.
Live music, great venue, great opening act, and Aurora shinned bright! Fantastic performance! Would go back 100 times!
The concert was so ethereal and the vocals were amazing, time just seemed to fly by and every single song was wonderful. It was my first concert and I'm so happy I went! The lights & the set up were also really well thought out! Thank you!
The concert was at History in the Beaches in Toronto. The entry was quick. The bars had very little lines as well as the T-Shirt stand. We were on the Mezzanine in a box, 204 at a table for four. Very good view of the stage. We could almost see Aurora's facial expressions. The acoustics inside are nice and the sound was clear..... however, the washrooms on the second level were directly behind boxes 200 - 205. There are no doors to enter the Gender neutral washrooms, just a curved entryway. The hand dryers happen to be very close to the entrances. They were very very loud and of course everyone who went in the washrooms were using them. Then the loud wooshing would continue until they finished washing their hands. Well, Aurora likes to talk to the audience after each song, and we could not really hear what she was saying because of the loud hand dryers. I think they should take that into consideration and turn them off and offer paper towels during the concert..... or put sound-proof doors on the washroom entrances. I will never sit in the mezzanine on that side of the hall again... even if it is my favourite artist. It was maddening. Aurora was stellar though.
One of the best shows I’ve been to. Incredible performance and the venue was nice and clean. Overall an amazing experience.
