AURORA IN CONCERT:
Rising Norwegian folk pop goddess AURORA has won over critics and fans alike with her stunning voice, synth-soaked sound, and spellbinding stage presence. The Scandinavian songstress is the epitome of style, taking the stage in futuristic fashions and rocking platinum blonde hair, but her cutting-edge look takes a backseat to her achingly beautiful vocals and soaring melodies. In concert she immerses ticket buyers in the emotional pull of lush tracks like “Runaway” and “Real Life”, closing her eyes as she sings and pantomiming her lyrics with otherworldly interpretive gestures. With her hugely anticipated debut album All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend generating big buzz in 2016, AURORA has fans eagerly awaiting the chance to experience her luminous live shows.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Bergen, Norway-born Aurora Aksnes started writing songs at age 10 and was discovered by a management agency during high school after a friend uploaded one of her tracks to a Norwegian streaming site. After releasing the songs “Puppet” and “Awakening” she signed with Decca Records and scored a breakthrough with the 2015 track “Runaway”, which racked up a million views on Spotify and got shout-outs from major music outlets like NME. Her 2015 debut EP Running With the Wolves drew even more praise, earning a Spellemannprisen (Norwegian GRAMMY) for Best Newcomer and propelling her onto the festival circuit. In late 2015 AURORA scored a Top 20 hit in the UK with a cover of Oasis’ “Half the World Away”, another big success that has fans looking forward to her 2016 full-length debut album.

I was so lucky to be able to see Aurora during the time I had already planned my trip to Canada, because all her shows in and around the Netherlands had sold out half a year in advance. She is one of my favorite artists and I just love the energy she brings to her music and to her show! She's funny, authentic, inspiring and she can SING. It was a really great concert and I liked the venue too, I'll come back when I get the chance. The support act, Sub Urban, went well with the atmosphere, Aurora's music and was also very enjoyable!
The performance was amazing. Left really disappointed by History venue. Bought tickets for family based on information produced- checking vaccination/negative Covid tests, masked event. Bought tickets at two tables at front of balcony. When we arrived, everything had been changed. No one was masked, didn’t check vaccine statuses nor Covid test results, and to make matters much worse, they changed the table numbers. How is this even legal?? We were moved to one table that was surrounded by people standing crowded around our table. Needless to say, two of us ended up with Covid. One of us having pre-existing conditions that make it pretty dangerous. After 2 years of being clear and safe, finally getting out, we were given a bait and switch, and Covid. Thanks History. Won’t ever attend an event at this venue again.
Aurora put on a great show in spite of the venue, not because of it. The place felt like a prison yard, and if you wanted so much as to sit down for five minutes it was a $50 upgrade. I expected expensive drinks, but their prices were just insulting. Also caught COVID, despite wearing a mask. The History venue felt like a low point for the band and myself. I doubt they’ll be in a rush to come back.
No other artist can do what Aurora does, this experience will forever be cherished as one of the happiest moments of my life. The room was full of love and passion. We felt it through Aurora’s performance because she really gave her all. The whole show was exquisite from the very beginning to the end. And the way Aurora cares for her fans was simply magical. As a Warrior, this concert exceeded all of my expectations and I will never forget this experience for as long as I live.
I have truly never had a concert experience quite like this before!! Aurora is such a treasure and seeing her live has singlehandedly changed the trajectory of my life. Idk who I even was before such a beautiful night spent with Aurora!! :)
Very interactive with the crowd, amazing voice even though she said her voice wasn't the greatest that day. Emotional and very fun. Very nice crowd too.
Beautiful from beginning to end. Aurora is a litteral fae.
Hi it was a breathtaking ethereal beautiful magical love fest of a show my first ever seeing Aurora live in concert. It was a long day for me & my body was in severe pain that I collapsed during the show unable to stand as I had been waiting in line since 11:00am. Aurora was sooo concerned for me she literally stopped the show to see if I was ok & my friends helped me up & I was Invited to sit for a bit in the press/security section right in front of the stage & Aurora bless her heart knelt down & gave me her water bottle & I gave her my Pride flag & we hugged & our cheeks touched. I was crying cuz of such kindness from Aurora & cuz of the pain. I had so many friends around me supporting me & Aurora was so loving. I sat for a little while & then rejoined the crowd at the front. I the staff were also very kind to me.
Aurora is unsurprisingly the best singer I’ve seen live yet. She manages to make her songs sound much better live than in studio and is always entertaining. The person who did the lighting for her set also deserves a raise. The lack of 5 stars is actually due to the venue and not because of Aurora or her team. My girlfriend and I were GA and we were standing for a significant amount of time before the show and after the opening act and it was very very hot. It didn’t feel like there was good ventilation. I appreciated that an employee would walk through the crowd to sell water bottles. It seemed that everyone appreciated that as the show went on. However, my girlfriend started feeling really faint towards the end of the show and we left the crowd to sit by the bathrooms. A big thank you for the security guard who found us and immediately took her down to the lounge so she could cool off. I wish that the bar in the lounge was open so I could get her some juice or a snack. I also wish that the venue could have been cooler in general so we could have watched the end of the show.
