Excellent show - For two old guys ;)
by Cathy on 2022-07-26Meridian Centre - St CatharinesThey played their hearts out. Their voices now have limitations and they absolutely sang to their abilities, sometimes cracking, but honestly, they’re such nice Canadian guys, every one of us in the audience was cheering for them every step of the way. Cummings’ onstage character has changed so much since I last saw him. He used to come across as quite vain during his early career performances. Now as he gingerly moves from one side of the stage to the other, it’s apparent he has learned to really appreciate his fellow band members, oftentimes encouraging applause for Bachman’s guitar playing which is still as amazing as it ever was. As is Cummings on piano. They played the majority of their hit records - songs we all know and love - giving us a tidbit of background on how the songs came about. Having previously been to one of Bachman’s concerts where he gave us the backstory to “She’s Come Undone”, I was actually brought to tears when they played that song. Both Cummings and Bachman have been playing for fans for a very long time and to me, this was a great opportunity for us to let them know just how much we will always love their incredible, timeless music and that we will forever appreciate how they brought us their talent over these past decades.
