    Fantastic concert

We originally saw the Bahamas when they opened for Jack Johnson a couple of years ago. My daughter and I loved them and she asked that if they ever come back to Vancouver, could we go... Saw they were coming, snagged front row seats and loved every minute of it. Great show, great vocals from Alfie & Felicity - her harmonies - wow - great guitar, bass and drums. Awesome show!

Bahamas Take Centre Stage With Skill and Passion!

by Evertonis1 on 2014-11-08The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

I saw Bahamas open for Blue Rodeo in the early summer and left the show wishing there had been more time for them to show off their music. This was a point that Afie Jurvanen made during the great show that he put on at the Danforth Music Hall when he mused about not having enough time normally as an opening act and how he loved being able to get into the 'deep cuts' as the headlining act. Bahamas provided the sold out audience exactly what they wanted....great music, some humorous banter, and a complete exploration of the music that has been shown on their first two albums and most recently on their album 'Bahamas is Afie'. Afie accurately stated that 'he had us right where he wanted us' and the audience was happy to go along with him. It is so great to experience the well crafted music played by talented musicians. Felicity Williams, the backup singer, stayed somewhat meekly in the background but when she was singing she commanded the stage. The guitar work by Afie and Christine Bougie was hypnotic and their interplay had me trying to figure out who was playing what and who was leading. Can't wait for them to return!

Absolutely amazing show! Band was tight, tons of energy , lots if polish and charisma. Absolutely would reccomend, hits you right where you want it too. Bahamas is definitely not an opening act anymore and after this show it's hard to believe he ever was.

Boy & Bear epic, Bahamas could have been first ...

by Deejhon on 2014-11-06Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

The opener was solid Reuben and The Dark I recommend to check out. I was super hyped up for Boy & Bear and they played a quality show. Following them Bahamas was the wrong feel for me. Boy & Bear were much more up tempo and I found Bahamas too light to be the final set.

    Lovely eveing with Bahamas

by winona73 on 2012-11-01West End Cultural Centre - Winnipeg

Afie Jurvanen may play a lot of sad songs, but somehow this show was uplifting. His voice is truly beautiful, and although his back up vocalist's were wonderful, it would have been nice if he'd sung more songs solo and showcase those amazing pipes. It was an awesome surprise to have his friend Doug Paisley come up to play one of his songs, whatever that song was it was absolutely lovely. As for the Bahamas, please come back again soon, I think Winnipeg has quite the crush on you.

His album is great, and the songs are amazing live. Great stage presence and interaction with the audience. Quirky dance moves combined with some excellent pants and a charming grin had all the ladies smiling.
