A remarkable show of talent and charm. I wasn't expecting to enjoy this concert as much as I did. Wow!
Barbra Striesand has been on my bucket list for years. She did not disappoint. She was more then we could have ever imagined. The same beautiful voice, and even a little humour We were fortunate and gave our seats to someone else because we sat in a private box
After all the years of super stardom, to have the energy and desire to do it again is amazing. To do it with such care, to select the supporting cast, to prepare the program, to show such apparent affection displays a dedicated personality. An absolutely memorable concert.
Barbra still has the best female voice ever. She included the audience to make the experience a priceless event. Check one item from the Bucket List.
Her voice was perfection ... She seemed relaxed and so ready to entertain us
Probably the most memorable concert that I have every seen, she was the perfect mixture of professional and intimate at the same time, you felt like she was singing only for you. She's perfect!
The concert began at 8:15 p.m. due to latecomers. No warm up act, which I'm happy about. She sang many old favourites including 'The Way We Were' and 'Evergreen'. She chatted with the audience answering questions and showed a couple of video montages of her youth and a film tribute from her son who actually appeared and sang a couple of songs. There was a great trumpeter and violinist who also performed a couple of solos. The best highlight besides Barbara was the 3 young Italian tenors who were magnificent. The finale included the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir.
Barbara was so relaxed and at ease that this show felt like we were sharing an evening with her in her home. She shared many personal memories as a way of leading into songs. The acts she chose to be with her were wonderfully talented. Barbara herself sang , as always, beautifully. It was an amazing evening!
Barbra's concert was classic Barbra from beginning to end -from the video clips of Barbra in Brooklyn in her younger days to her final song with her sister. It was like being with an old friend you hadn't seen in a while. Her stories were told with humour and ended in song. The video produced and sung by her son was highlighted by her son coming on stage and singing with and without Barbra. The strong voices of Il Volo and the horn played by Chris Botti just added to the already awesome evening. All of this was capped off with a 40 piece orchestra. It was my best concert ever!
While Barbra did and excellent performance we felt that there was far too much other talent, while I did appreciate her son Jason and the scheduled other talent I was unimpressed with the choir, even where we seated almost right beside them we could not hear any of what they did if in fact they did do anything. The violinist wasn't needed nor was the so called sister. We thought their performance (Barbra and sis) was just horrible, even with the tela prompter we felt they screwed it up royally. When spend the money we do on seeing certain entertainers its them that we want to see and hear.
I would definitely see Barbra Streisand again if she returned to the Air Canada Centre. The performance was outstanding. She truly has a wonderful voice. If she comes to your city and you have the opportunity to see her, you must attend her show. A memorable experience for sure!
No bells or whistles just a true professional who managed to sing to 20 thousand people...as if it were one.
There is only one voice is our lifetime that is so recognizable as Barbra Streisand. No one can sing the way she does. Her concerts leave you feeling mesmorized and wanting more. Everything about her is beautiful.
Old songs with some new flavour, great stage, lots of complementing acts, and witty connection with the audience. Its a pleasure to listen and watch.
Fantastic concert - felt very intimate despite the large venue. Her voice is still amazing. Loved her stories and the photos shown on the jumbotron.
barbara streisand 's show the other night showed that she can still deliver the goods ,when that is she is performing. the biggest problem with this show was there was too much of other performers. for those who paid a great sum of money to be there we surely didn't need to hear her son jason gould, chis botti and some violinist as well as her sister and a home movie made by her son that took time away from her actually singing. if i had known it was barbara streisand and family and friends i would not have attended. i thought it was going to be only il vollo , three young talented men from italy who like il divo in 2006 would open for and perform a little with ms streisand. if i wanted to meet her friends, family and see home movies, please invite me over to your house to do . at the price of admission this certainly wasn't fair or as advertised.
It was okay. Not many Wow moments as in her concert a few years ago but a solid concert.
This was once of the most fantastic events I have ever attended. Ms. Streisand entertains beyond expectation. Her show was truly unbelievable.
Music unbelievably stellar. Guest appearances spectacular and Jason CAN sing. Screens at side of stage should be larger. There were some songs I missed from previous performances but still an excellent show.
The voice is a little tired, a little lower, but still classic Streisand!
