What An Entertainer !
by Blade1 on 2011-05-01Paris Las Vegas - Las VegasMy husband & I returned back from our very first trip to Las Vegas in April. We of course wanted to enjoy some of the many shows that are playing in Vegas. Barry Manilow was my husband's choice. I am always up for anything. Going to see Barry I honestly wasn't familiar with much of his music except for a few songs here and there. When we arrived at the theatre, we were given 2 red glow sticks which I thought was rather neat ! When we walked into the theatre I was just in aww with the beauty of it. When we arrived at the ushers to help assist us to our seats, there was a bit of a delay for some reason. I was a bit worried at first, wondering what is wrong with our tickets. A minute later she tells us to see one of the other ushers over to our right and she will take care of us from there. Me and my husband were a bit surprised, to see that she was seating us 5 rows from the stage. Our origional tickets were NOT this close. We have no idea how this happened. But my husband was just super excited !! The show was LOTS of fun & Barry does put on an amazing show. In fact I will say I was quite surprised to hear songs I've heard of before not knowing that it was Barry Manilow that sang them. The red glow sticks came in handy, and to see the ENTIRE theatre waving them back and forth during songs, was just a nice touch. I did like the concept of Barry's show, singing songs from his past, talking about his grandfather who encouraged him to sing, also talking about where he grew up etc.... I will say that Barry did a great job. Even at his age, he can dance & sing & have a great time on stage. I will say I did walk out of there, being a bigger fan of Barry & as soon as I came home, I went out and bought one of his albums "The Essentials" that has all of Barry's greatest hits.
