BC Lions History
The BC Lions are the fifth oldest active franchise in the Canadian Football League (CFL). Founded in 1954, the Lions have made 10 appearances in the Grey Cup championship game and have won the cup six times: in 1964, 1985, 1994, 2000, 2006 and 2011. The BC Lions have claimed the Grey Cup twice on their home turf, including their notable 1994 victory over the former Baltimore Football Club, which prevented a U.S.-based team from hoisting Canadian football’s top prize. The Lions logged the CFL’s second-longest streak of playoff appearances, running for 20 consecutive seasons between 1997 and 2016. Throughout the BC Lions’ history, roster members have claimed 14 Most Outstanding Rookie Awards, 11 Most Outstanding Canadian Awards and Most Outstanding Defensive Player Awards apiece, seven Most Outstanding Player Awards, and five Annis Stukus Trophies for the CFL’s Coach of the Year.

BC Lions at BC Place
The BC Lions are the longest-tenured team to continuously compete at BC Place, starting with its opening in 1983. The stadium has grown in stature across the league, hosting nine Grey Cup championship games, including a Lions victory in 2011. During home games, fans can expect to hear the BC Lions fight song “Roar, You Lions, Roar” and get hyped up with team mascot Leo the Lion. The 54,500-seat multipurpose stadium has also hosted Major League Soccer’s Vancouver Whitecaps FC as well as games during the 2010 Winter Olympics and the annual Canada Sevens rugby competition. BC Place is located on the north side of False Creek in downtown Vancouver.

My grandson and I enjoyed every aspect of the game.Grandson said it made him a fan forever. Early fumbles and turnovers had us worried but the D came through, the offence got it together and the rookie kicker was fabulous.
was great game they won the game would go to other game in the summer
It was a case of the good, the bad and the ugly, or the highs, the lows and the ridiculous. My Riders showed that they need a lot of improvement on the offence. Their defence bent and broke a bit but the offence for the most part was anemic. But one bad judgement of the punt return cost the most. Good to see so much green in the place.
It was good to see the fire and enthusiasm of the team, specially after good early ball movement and then the nasty turnovers. The team worked hard and it paid off in finally getting some of those bounces going their way. The defense stepped up creating some panic on the Sask offense and the BC offense got consistent good first down yardage. Buck had a better game moving the sticks and the O line kept the Riders off. The team needs to make some changes to their short yardage game as whatever they are doing doesn't work. Don't have the answer but there are people in the organization that are paid to know this so step up. All in all a lot of fun to watch which was great.
Great game with lots of great fans! Well woth the money spent and time it took to get there.
I haven't been to a game in years. I had good seats to last night's game and could see the screen for replays. There were a lot of distractions to the game and I found that the screen at the end was part of the problem. Some facilities have a screen mid way instead of at the end. That way a person can glance up and then get back to focussing on the game. The screen at the end meant, by the time you looked at the screen and refocussed your eyes to the game...you'd missed it. We went home at half time to watch the rest of the game....I mean, if that what I was doing at the game I might as well go home to my 60' and watch it there.
The whole atmosphere was great the offense and defense did not come to play. Kicking team and special teams on punt returns got the most exercise.
This was the worst lions game that I have ever been too. The ordering of the tickets went really well. The Lions need to not only play better, there needs to be higher quality entertainment at the event. It appears overall, pretty amateurish. I will think twice before I spend money on a game again.
I have been going to Lions games for 6 years now and watching on TV for the past 40 and Saturday's game was the absolutely the worst game I ever saw. It the Lions don't pick it up I may never go to another game!!!
BC PLACE as a whole, great venue, fast and friendly staff. As, for the so called game, bad from the start, including national anthem. Should be emailing the BC Lions and asking for a refund for their dreadful performance.
Terrible performance by the Lions! I wont be back until I see signs of improvement! Left before the end of the third quarter.
With a poor product on the field all you can hope for is to be entertained off the field. Not the case Friday night against the Stamps. But to be honest my major gripe is the 45 min. beer lines. A half full stadium and long lines is not cool. The lame halftime show and the very annoying announcer screeming 'Go Lions' every few minutes ( during a 48-10 butt- kicking! ) may have all been tolerable if I could have gotten more then two beer into me.
The Lions didn't play very well tonight. I think it was the second worst loss in Lions history. But Calgary played well, and it was still fun. I really wish BC Place would fix the sound system, and not turn up the volume so much. With all the static and deafening noise (from the sound system), it was quite annoying. It's tough to hear the person next to you. I recommend that you bring a headset or ear plugs to drown out the sound. The AM 1040 play-by-play is good to listen to during the game.
It's unfortunate that a few rowdy people can ruin a lot of peoples enjoyment. Maybe alcohol should not be served at these events if people can't drink responsibly. My brother took his son to his first game and they had to put up with young men getting drunk and fights breaking out.
What a waste of time and money. Ferry Fare , Hotel room, Tickets, to watch that display . More rough play in the stands than on the feild. Should have stayed home where I wouldn't feel guilty about about turning the game off. Our next family outing will probably be camping.
The Lions stunk up BC Place so badly the fans were running for the exits, no mean feat considering how big the stadium is! They were out-played, physically manhandled, and coached into the turf.
Disgusting doesn't begin to describe this game last night. Shame on the Lions! It was Calgary for God's sake! We have become the Hamilton of the CFL!
this could have been the worst single sporting event I have witnessed.
The game was everything we thought it would be and then some. My 12 year old son (who is also a Lions fan) had no idea that we were going to the game. I had him thinking we were going to vollunteer at the soup kitchen that night and he wasn't too sure if that was such a good idea since we had travelled all the way from the Comox Valley. When I showed him the tickets and we started walking in through the security gates, he was totally blown away. He said that it was one the best nights he has ever had and the experience at BC Place was over the top. Just seeing him having such a great time made me a very happy Dad and proud to have such an awesome son who enjoys watching our favorite team together.
