    Not so golden

by Smeeglie on 2012-02-21The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

This interview should have been for a morning show and should have been free. If I hadn't been squished like a sardine in the middle of a row, I'd have left early. I realize that Betty isn't a standup comedian, but I was absolutely expecting some scripted material. I cannot believe I paid $60 to watch people give her teddy bears!!!

    Betty White is my hero!

by TeaPea on 2012-02-21The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

I was expecting more of a stand-up comedy kind of evening based on the fact that is was for the Comedy Fest but was still pleasantly surprised even though it was more of an interview than anything. To be in the same room as Betty White was amazing in itself. I've been a fan of hers since I was a little girl. This show was definitely a once in a lifetime kind of opportunity and will go down as one of the coolest things I've ever done! She's the coolest lady in the world in my opinion. Comedian, activist, philanthropist, and a generally awesome human being!

GLOBAL TV Ruined the show by far...

by michbetty on 2012-02-21The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

I enjoyed Betty White speaking and her comedy, which was pretty much left to an interview style show (was not aware of this prior to buying tickets) by Global TV hosts. The one lady was great (sophie i believe her name was) and the other spoke to her in a tone like she was a child. In the audience participation, the audience learned that they already selected their own college and her husband to participate in advance (who prob obtained free tickets being in the media). Lynn Collier was annoying, and her husband very inappropriate and ignorant. I was so bothered at the fact of this that the rest of the show i just was waiting to leave. 5 questions and answers from the audience and the rest dictated by the global crew was not my idea of a show for $100.00 and tax. Wish Betty had some room to involve audience more, or just freely speak.

    Betty White Rocks

by Babsbythe on 2012-02-21The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

I went to see Betty White on Saturday night Live and still kicking A. she was at the ComedyFest. She was the ComedyFest. what a lovely, funny, generous, delightful, lady she is. she is gracious, humble and kind and also very funny. she flirted with the audience and charmed one and all. she made us laugh and giggle and clap and filled the night with fun. I would recommend seeing her each and everytime she comes back here and I hope she does. highlights of the night, her holding up a Canucks scarf and saying Go Canucks Go or signing the back of a young lady who had a Golden Girls tat on her back and was getting the autograph inked in later that night, or maybe it was playing password or flirting with Lynn Colliers husband, or asking Sophie Lui what she had down her blouse or describing her experience at shooting the Snickers commercial.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed Betty. She has such a good sense of humour and makes ya feel good, smile and laugh. It is great to see a 90 year old that is so vibrant.

such a beautiful lady with class

by kimbit52 on 2012-02-20The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

it was totally awesome, i wanna be her when i reach that age. one of the question people had some flowers, i think she should been able to give them to her.....i think that would have made her evening.... i think the mike could have been turned up just abit more for those hard of hearing people..... maybe a couple of stand up comedy moments. although the stories were funny. loved her answer to the question about "what advise would she give to the younger generation - answer "Appreciation as some of them really don't appreciate things these days" I would see her again.....totally cool.....

Betty White I love you but....

by DisappointedXMany on 2012-02-20The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

We went to the Saturday 9:30 show and left still loving Betty White but wondered why we spent the money. The less than interesting questions that were gathered from Global listeners was truly sad. I have watched interviews on TV that were far better than what I saw on Saturday! Ugh. I still love Betty though!

Betty is and was fantastic! All her work with animals is inspirational to say the very least. Highlight of the show had to be when a young woman who had a huge back tattoo of the Golden Girls managed to get Betty to sign her tat to have her signature inked in later :) Great show, great gal :)

the format of the show was a flop

by Anonymous on 2012-02-20The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

I saw the same "interview" by Sophie and Randene Monday morning on the news. there were a few funny moments, however, this was not what I would call a comedy show, as much as an interview by local personalities.

Betty White still has it going on!

by GeorgeW on 2012-02-20The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

It was a delight to see Betty speak about her life achievements; how she was raised, her dreams, her husband, her love for animals and her career......This woman is truly an inspiration to us all. Wow, talk about life time achievement...90 years young and still a sharp sexy mind. Congrats on becoming a Forest Ranger too...her daddy would be so proud.

    Betty White was a dissapointment

by Roth on 2012-02-20The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Although the show was somewhat entertaining, I was extremely dissapointed! I felt mislead, instead of it being a Betty White comedy show, it was a question answer hosted by our local newscasters. I feel it should have been advertised as this and had I known I certainly would not have paid $60 for the tickets(and those were the cheap seats). By no means is this review a shot at Betty, she is great, rather a reflection of the lack of detail about what the show was going to be!

Highly disappointed - the evening lasted only 1 hour and 15 minutes. The style was like sitting and watching a television interview - very boring. The attempt at playing password was very poorly done (Plug your ears and hum and pretend you didn't hear the word broadcasted over the mike!!) A couple of funnies but not entertaining in the least! We thought there would have been at least 15 minutes of comedy. Alot of promoting of animal foundations, we expected the baskets to be passed at anytime!! The best part was just saying we saw her on a stage

    Betty not what we expected

by LauraBe on 2012-02-20The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

As much as we LOVE Betty White and were really looking forward to her show, we were sadly disappointed with the show. More specifically, the format of the show. Nowhere was there any mention about it being an INTERVIEW! My Dad fell asleep! And to have Betty White launching Comedy Fest was a HUGELY inappropriate marketing ploy. It implies that it was going to be funny (and Betty IS funny) - but the show was not. Hope she comes back soon and stands alone, no interviews just entertainment. And we hope it's marketed truthfully. Also, we paid for very good seats ($$$$$) and this was a gift to someone. I was pretty upset that they didn't enjoy themselves. AND we travelled quite a distance...

    Betty White was disappointing

by 1Harrison on 2012-02-20The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

It was a very disappointing show. It shouldn't have been under Vancouver Comedy Fest as I assumed that we would be seeing Betty White perform a comedy show. I was wrong. It was an interview with Betty White by two news anchors. It was a waste of time and money. Wait, it wasn't really a waste of time as the entire event was only 65 minutes! Then to top off the whole disaster of an evening, the audience was invited to sing the Golden Girls song, "Thank you for being a friend". Really?
