BIG WRECK IN CONCERT:

Beloved hard rockers Big Wreck have been bringing the ruckus since 1994, with no signs of slowing down. The band possesses a dynamic sound that can shift from hard rock to anthemic post-grunge all while still staying true to their unique style. At their live shows the band tears through popular tunes like "The Oaf (My Luck Is Wasted)" and the No. 1 smash hit "Albatross" alongside material from 2014's Ghosts with reckless abandon. With 20 years of touring experience under their belt, Big Wreck knows how to get ticket buyers headbanging at their rocking live sets.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Boston-based rock outfit Big Wreck formed in 1994 after the members met at the Berklee College of Music. They started to jam together and perform local shows near campus, eventually attracting attention from execs at Atlantic Records. They signed with the label and released their 1997 debut In Loving Memory Of..., which featured three Top 10 hits on the Canadian Alternative chart and a Top 10 on the US Mainstream Rock chart. Their widespread popularity throughout the Great White North -- where lead singer Ian Thornley grew up -- spawned several headlining tours in support of their breakout album. They followed up with 2001's The Pleasure and the Greed -- a popular album that featured three radio-friendly hits and continued to earn the band major acclaim. Since then they've released two more Top 10 albums including 2014's Ghosts and have proven themselves as mainstays within the rock genre. Fans can experience Big Wreck’s hit-filled catalog on full display whenever they take the stage on their high-octane tours.

Theory of a deadman were amazing but Big Wreck killed it! Ian Thornley's voice and guitar skills were the highlight of the show. I'll definitely be going next time they're in town!

    Disappointed

by Stc139 on 2012-06-26Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

They felt really tired (despite being their second show) and really uninspired. They were pretty static on the stage and played the bare minimums of a set. Most of their set was newer songs too which do not have the same magic as their older material. I'm sure they were good live once, but now they are just boring.

The Big Wreck at Danforth Was Terrible.

by Magoo666 on 2012-06-19The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

The volume was Too Loud causing much distortion and or the music hall sucks sound wise?????Also the vocals were too low to hear clearly. We were sitting center center orchastra so the volume and acoustics should have been excellent????????????????? I have been to many concerts and know my stuff over the years.Like the band on CD but would have to go to another concert else were to really know if they can play live or not. That's what alot of bands forget is that they need too adjust there set to there surroundings with a good sound man and equip to play live and sound good.

    Ian seemed a little frustrated...

by ashleyemusick on 2012-06-13The Garrick Centre - Winnipeg

Put on an amazing show as usual; but I wish they would have played more old stuff. Besides Ian's rant about the guy in the front row taking pictures, they were focused and seemed to be enjoying themselves.

    What a voice!

by Rockfan2009 on 2012-06-12Guelph Concert Theatre - Guelph

An amazing show at a great venue! Ian Thornley's voice was bang on, the band was tight. He must have changed out guitars about 6 times. They are all great musicians. If you are at all interested in Big Wreck, this show is a must!!!

My friend and I saw Big Wreck years ago when we were in college at the Maxbell in Calgary and I was so excited to finally see them again. Amazing! Better than I remembered, I would absolutely go and see them again.

    Big Wreck was tight!

by CajunMan on 2012-06-12The Garrick Centre - Winnipeg

The Garrick was a great venue for the show. Ian Thornley seemed a bit tired and grumpy, but put on a hell of a show anyhow. He continued to prove that he is one of Canada's greatest, but tragically underated musicians. The opening band, Rikers, had a good singer, but that was about it. The bassist used one finger to play all of his basslines, and I'm not sure if the guitarist knew more than 10 chords. Overall though, Big Wreck was well worth seeing again, and the new guys in the band were terrific. I would definitely go again!

    Another fine outing by Ian!

by Mktcrasher on 2012-06-12The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Another great show by Ian Thornley. I have seen him many times now and have never been disappointed. Whether back in university days, while as Thornley and now as Big Wreck again....he always sounds great and puts on a show. Band was awesome in support as well. Acoustics were okay, not great....nice old time looking venue though.

This was a really good concert at a small venue. Could get up nice and close, Big Wreck rocked the place, just would have been nice if they played a little longer!

    Big Wreck, So Awesome!

by ICEJANS on 2012-06-11The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

I went into this with no expectations and loved every minute of it - the way the songs were choreographed and with great covers leading into their own tunes it was magical. And awesome. The End.

by Anonymous on 2012-06-11The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

The BEST concert I've been to in a very long time!!!! Big Wreck is absolutely amazing-their showmanship and talent was EXPLOSIVE!!! I highly recommend anyone to see them at least once in their life to experience TRUE musicians. The band's musicality with Ian Thornley's lead vocals/guitar made me realize why I fell in love with them in the first place. I am so thrilled to have seen them!

    Big Wreck Rocked

by jlis on 2012-05-03Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Great show! Such a fantastic band in such an intimate venue. Being right at the stage unbelievable. Only problem? Sound seemed muffled (opening band & Big Wreck) - resulted in it being difficult to make-out the words, for example. Sound-guy needed to fix that.
