I enjoyed the concert very much. I saw BJ at casino rama 12 years ago and kept looking to see if he was coming back. As soon as I saw it, I got my ticket. There was no way I would miss his great concert. Brings me back to my growing up years. I loved it!!!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed B.J. Thomas' performance at Rama Saturday night. He still has his chops as proven by his vocal range in "Rock and Roll Lullabye" and covers by Jackie Wilson and Otis Redding. He sang some tunes a capella and showed his unfaltering falsetto in others - a real talent. As well, B.J. sang every one of his hits to the delight of the crowd. I'm so happy when I see our stars from the early years still out there having a good time. The audience, some 3500, loved the show as no one left the room until the final bow - quite a tribute to this legend, B.J. Thomas, who is singing better than ever!
Loved the show ........BJ is a true showman and played all the hits.....and then some!! Sorry to say that he didn't play long enough ........75 minutes...with no encore !! Very disappointing !! Waited 10 years to hear him ........and he came up short !!
Have seen some entertainers from back in the day and always think twice because of age it can be disappointing but he wasn't, it was a good show. He was funny and entertaining and great to listen to all his hit songs the same way they were done years ago.
I had a truly lovely time...went solo and was a little wierd about that, but it was great....so glad I didn't chicken out....grew up listening to BJ Thomas and was sooooo excited to be able to spend an hour listening to some of my favorite songs....
Enjoyed every moment of this concert, brought back many memories. BJ Thomas still has that magical voice and put on an awesome show .........I recommend his show to anyone who was around in the 70's.
This show was more than what we imagined it would be. B.J. gave 110%. He is a great entertainer with the audience. He also had a couple of standing inovations.
I have been a long time fan of BJ Thomas. Knowing that he was well past 65, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of his voice and his high energy. He pleased the crowd with all of his hits and kept up a nice banter throughout the performance. I am not sure why the show started at 9:30 as this would certainly an older crowd, but other than that a very enjoyable performance and evening.
B J still has that magic voice. A good time was had by all. HIs set is included all his; every song being familiar.. The venue was perfect for him.
BJ Thomas walked off the stage half way through the concert . He complained his vioce was not up to his usual standard. I hope that when his voice recovers he will give a free concert to make up for the first. The sound system was very poor as well. Half the time I couldn't understand what he was saying.
I think that the concert would have been great if BJ hadn't lost his voice. He couldn't finsh the concert. I think he sang for about 30 minutes and then he couldn't do any more. He kept apologizing for his voice. He did mention coming back and doing a free concert. If this happens I would like to know about it. It was too bad.
This concert was totally amazing, spectacular, wonderful, incredible, awesome, cool, and any other synonyms I haven't listed! B. J. Thomas is on of my absolute favourite singers in this entire universe, and he certainly didn't disappoint, with his concert. He sang many of his old favourites dating back to the mid-60's, and then many later hits. The audience was great--they were so appreciative of everything he did, and sang, and clapped and cheered with great enthusiasm after every song. I would recommend seeing this act to anyone and everyone; it's a total must-see. Thanks for asking my opinion. (By the way, my husband feels the same way too!) Lois Hamlett
Wow! What a beautiful voice! He can still hit the high notes...amazing! American Idol could sure use a few lessons about singing and falsetto's from BJ! This old boy can sing!!! Some older singers have changed their octaves, but not BJ, he just kept right on hitting every single note to perfection!!! Congratulations!!! I can see his performance being held at the Winspear or the Jubilee with no problems! The bar setting atmosphere was sold out, however, very jammed with people, too uncomfortable. Many disturbances with movement and drink service etc. Also, kudo's to you and your wife for being together for 40 years!!! Way to go! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves listening to you! You are awesome!
Ol' Billy Joe has his act polished and experienced. His band as well, of whom a couple of members have been with him for over a couple of decades now. BJ's voice is still melodious and strong. And he didn't disappoint, singing a good number of his old hits plus a couple of gospel tunes. He's very comfortable with the crowd,and yes, he finally did sing "Raindrops".
