I absolutely loved this show. The creative choreography, the excellent choice of music, the strength of the dancers and the fluidity of the dance just amazed me. I would love to see this again.

It felt like this show was 20 minutes! At 80 minutes sans intermission, we were riveted. The clever cinematography and exquisite dance to Leonard Cohen’s music, amounted to a most captivating experience. Edge of our seats!
I wasn't sure what to expect, but the dancers were incredible and the music, of course, excellent. They had fun with a lot of the pieces, and made good use of special effects. And the dancers danced their butts off.

One of the best aspects of the BJM performance was the incredible lighting effects. Who would have thought to put spot lights onto the dancers from the wings? Of course the dancing was remarkable too. The use of Leonard Cohen's voice here and there made it seem as though he was part of the show. The conclusion of Hallelujah with two dancers actually singing the lyrics was a fine way to end the night's performance.

Not sure what to expect, as it was my first time to see a jazz ballet, I was thrilled by the event. For a Canadian ballet company to honor Leonard Cohen's music with this (interpretive) dance made his deeply intoning words to his songs more visual. The choreography was exciting, the dancers limitless with their movements, and the simplistic costuming was very, very effectual. And to Kennedy Kraeling, because I know of her family relatives, even made it more "Alberta". Worked so hard to get here...job well done. To BJM, well done...my heart soars with appreciation and in the mindfulness of the music of Leonard Cohen.
The subtlety of movements...the integration of dance steps from other disciplines...the versatility of props...the use of light (& Cohen's black) created a magical, energizing 80 minutes of entertainment.
The idea this performance is wonderful! Each scene was unique! We were excited!!

the show was incredible. kudos to lighting design that made the dancers flicker off and on into existence. the dancers made it look easy, which is always a feat. would recommend wholeheartedly!

The Ballet Jazz de Montreal's performance of Dance Me in Calgary was pure perfection! Everything from the amazing nimble dancers, the creative choreography, the incredible use of light, and of couse Cohen's music, were all fabulous! One of the best ballets I have seen in a long time. When it ended I wanted to buy tickets for the next show to see it again. Bravo BJM!
Loved this performance. This is my third time seeing this dance company. Twice in Monreal and now in Calgary.

BJM did an amazing job in representing Leonard Cohen in dance. The entire 80 minute performance I was drawn in and captivated by their movements. My only disappointment was the songs they decided to do as poetry were some of his most well-known songs, it would've been nice to hear/see them in song/dance.
From the opening first threads of Leonard’s music, to the dramatic end - this show is the best that I have attended. The dancers moved fluidly through the intricacies of Leonard’s tunes. The dancers were powerful and made every movement look easy to perform. I would see this show again and again!
Outstanding show...happy to not have an intermission but the performance ended rather early. I felt the singers were not an addition to the the performance. It is a definite must see. The standing ovation and multiple curtain calls were certainly visible proof of the the enjoyment of the performance.
