BLUE RODEO IN CONCERT:

Canadian roots rock mainstay Blue Rodeo has been sending fans "Head Over Heels" with their country-tinged sound and lighters-in-the-air concerts for more than three decades. The group has won a dozen Juno Awards in their home country, and they've earned a global fanbase with their approachable sound and unforgettable live performances. They've been called one of Canada's best live bands, and it's easy to see why as co-vocalists Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor tag team anthemic favorites like "Lost Together" and "5 Days in May". Fans looking to catch up with with these veteran rockers won't want to miss them any time they perform favorites from their decade-spanning discography on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Blue Rodeo was formed in the early '80s by Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor, two Toronto high school buddies who started playing music together after graduating. Following a stint in New York they returned to Canada and put together a band, and in 1985 Blue Rodeo played their first show at The Rivoli in Toronto. After two years of performing and honing their sound, the group released their 1987 debut album Outskirts to a Top 20 spot on the Canadian charts. A steady string of popular singles and albums followed in the late '80s and '90s, including country chart-toppers like "Try" and "Til I Am Myself Again". Their success continued in the '00s with no less than five Top 10 albums on the Canadian Albums Chart and a star on Canada's Walk of Fame. Over the course of 13 albums Blue Rodeo has won a whopping 12 Juno Awards, and they continue to impress with their time-honored sound and undeniable onstage chemistry every time they tour.

    Awesome Concert

by Jane on 2023-10-24Avenir Centre - Moncton

Once again, blue rodeo played a fantastic concert. It was great to have them play all their songs from five days in July. Amazing to know that that record came out 30 years ago. They certainly have come a long way since they called themselves the Hifi’s

    Excellent Show

by Gerard on 2023-10-24Avenir Centre - Moncton

Very Canadian, very talented musicians exhibiting their skills in a very fan friendly environment. Jim Cuddy and Greg Keilor are underrated in the Canadian music scene. Great to see them for the third time, and the first time in nearly twenty years

May at all what I expected

by Mark on 2023-10-24Avenir Centre - Moncton

The set list of songs were maybe more suitable to a more intimate setting. Greg Keelor did many of his songs were very slow and depressing and went on and on. The show started with three great songs and there were three in the encore that were great, but it was a long slog through the middle.

no in-house cameras on the performers

by TP on 2023-10-24Avenir Centre - Moncton

Couldn’t see the performers well as there was no in house cameras on the band. Unless you had very close seating at premium pricing, you got a lesser show.

    Amazing Show

by Trapper on 2023-10-24Avenir Centre - Moncton

One of Canada's favourite groups playing at one of Canada' top venues. The production was incredible and the acoustics were amazing! A truly great Canadian show. One to be remembered, for sure!

    Worst Concert Ever

by RJ on 2023-10-24Avenir Centre - Moncton

I have been a fan for 35 years and have seen Blue Rodeo many times before. While I remain a huge fan, the convert was the worst I have ever been to. The problem was not the band. The mix was abysmal- vocals in particular were affected. The vocal were muddled with excessive lows and boomed at times. Occasionally higher notes cut through the mix. Time for a new mix guy.

    Great Blue Rodeo Concert...As Always!

by Mike G. on 2023-10-24Avenir Centre - Moncton

This is our 4th Blue Rodeo concert & another enjoyable show...super venue @ the Avenir Center...superb sound...the iconic songs still sound as good as ever. The only complaint was the lack of the jumbo video screen(s) which is common place with most major performers these days...almost a necessity In such a large venue. Also the $14 for a beer is pretty disgusting...no wonder the price isn't posted! Still, a wonderful night of fantastic music...you always leave a Blue Rodeo concert feeling great!

    Over priced and slow

by Gouch on 2023-10-24Avenir Centre - Moncton

The Avenir center in Moncton NB needs to figure out how to move a crowd into a building. Open up more gates to get the people through the door. Nothing worse then standing in the rain waiting to go through the gates. The beers were priced like we live in Vancouver or Toronto. We live in Atlantic Canada with maritime wages. Drop the beer prices $14 for a beer is ridiculous. Open more gates .

Blue Rodeo at Leon's Centre Kingston, ON

by BarbaraDe on 2023-10-18Leon's Centre - Kingston

The concert was absolutely amazing! What was annoying is the venue was not organized and many people were stuck in the line up outside. Very slow going into the venue. Only one door open at Door 2 and the other doors also had long line ups. As a result the concert began and many people were not yet in the venue. We missed the band coming on to the stage and missed the first couple of songs.

    Bad Timing

by Banjo Legs on 2023-10-18Leon's Centre - Kingston

Having seen Blue Rodeo many times but not resently I was very disappointed with the concert. Maybe I am just too old but I found the whole evening very loud. The base went right through your body. I think that maybe the venue was to blame. My other issue with the concert was their choice of songs. They missed out on a whole bunch of their greatest hits and they sang boring songs. I travelled far and spent a lot of money for concert tickets and accommodations to be disappointed. This was and will be my last Blue Rodeo concert. I will continue to listen to their old songs in the comfort of my home.

    Kingston Oct 2023

    by Dinny7 on 2023-10-18Leon's Centre - Kingston

Love Blue Rodeo but the first set was slow and uninspiring. The sound also seemed off and somewhat tinny. The second set was much better thankfully! Good venue but noisy if sitting near one of the exits (saying that, I've never experienced that sort of noise distraction there before or at any other venue).

BR excellent venue not so much

by Ka on 2023-10-18Leon's Centre - Kingston

Loved the music….BR were awesome! Venue not so much! Hated the fact I could nit get an actual ticket but had to depend on my phone! Hated the pat down etc upon entering! Hated that you could not go outside once you entered! Over the top in my opinion! Grand Theatre a much nicer venue to watch a concert! Will nit be going back to the Leon Centre!!!

    Disappointed.

by Nancy on 2023-10-17Leon's Centre - Kingston

I do like Blue Rodeo but was quite disappointed with the sound on Sat night. The instruments were so loud I couldn't make out what the Blue Rodeo artists were singing or saying. The big screens were also not out so I couldn't see the singers close up. The lighting was good but the sound engineer needs to rethink his controls. I don't care that the arena was large, as a sound person he/she should have been able to account for the excess sound.

Great concert. Great vocals and instrumentals.

by Leane on 2023-10-17Leon's Centre - Kingston

My husband and I thought the concert was terrific. The band started on time and delivered a great vocal, instrumental and visual concert. The song selection was great and we had a great view from our seats. The only negative was the concert goers who arrived late after the concert started and disrupted the rest of us trying to find their seats. We always plan ahead to arrive early so we can stay seated and enjoy the entire concert. It was a great concert.
