    Getting Old

Time for Bob to quit I think. He had some funny lines, but overall show was boring.

    Bob was great

by joshie on 2014-11-18River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

The pre-show was too long. I think if the jazz band had played, then the vocalist sung 2 songs to start the evening, that would've been enough. Five songs before Bob was way too long. And it still would've been a great show

    A Class Act!

by JacquieB on 2014-11-18River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

Seeing Bob Newhart was a bucket list item for me. I had watched his tv shows all through childhood, and even now, enjoyed him on Big Bang Theory. He did some new stuff and old favourites, and talked about his career - can you believe Bob started out as an accountant? Loved the entire experience, including the band that was the opening act. I do wish people would shut up and let everyone enjoy the show, however. A couple of women sitting behind us gabbed for the entire time the band was playing - completely disrespectful!

    Bob Newhart

by Mochaoreo on 2014-11-18River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

I went to Bob Newhart with my mother not sure what to expect. From the moment he got on stage to the end he captured the audience with his timing, delivery and of course incredible sense of humour. We were laughing out loud... and when we left our cheeks were sore! It was such a fun night and I would go again if he came to town!

    Retire Bob

by roids on 2014-11-18River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

I love Bob Newhart, thats why i went to the show. Problem is that he is getting old. Occaisional flashes of brilliance but overall a dissapointing performance. Band was below average and the singer uninspiring. Time to hang 'em up Bob, spend more time with your grand-kids

    Bob Newhart Performance

by ComedyAficionado on 2012-02-13River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

I attended the show with my brother and a best friend. Our ages range from 51 - 57 and all three of us were hardcore Bob Newhart fans with a particularly strong attachment to his first tv series. That being the case there was much excitement in anticipation of his show. It started with an unexpected excruciatingly long half hour of listening to a fairly good 10-piece band and a couple of ballads by an average-at-best female singer while waiting for Bob to start his show. There were murmurs in the audience and a sense of growing impatience as we began to wonder if Bob was even going to show up. He eventually did, but it was an ominous beginning. There were times when Bob was at his hilarious best early on, but the delivery was uneven and the latter half of his hour-long show was disappointing to the point of being sad as it became very apparent he's exceeded his best-before date. Unlike his peer Don Rickles who incredibly at the age of 85 has by all accounts barely missed a beat judging by the enthusiastic reactions to his show here last year which I unfortunately missed, the same cannot be said for Bob Newhart who is 3 years younger. When we left I asked my companions how they would rate Bob's performance on a scale of 1-10. I started by offering a 7; one grudgingly gave him a 6, the other a 5. I later admitted having exaggerated my score, in part because of nostalgia, wishful thinking, and last but not least because it was I who had bought the tickets as a treat for us and was trying to reconcile that part of the equation. I'm not sure what the going rate is to watch a living legend who is well past his prime, but the tickets ran approx. $92/each, and as hard as it is to admit it since I really loved this guy, it was not money well spent.

    The Best Comedy Act

by golieb on 2012-02-12River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

This was a show that brought tears of laughter and stitches in the side. Bob Newhart's show takes real life situations and makes them fun without using course language, racial slangs or sexual inuendoes. By far the best comedy performer we have had the pleasure of seeing. I would love to see his act again as he is a classic performer, humble about his success and a sincere family man as well.

The old master still has his chops!

by Teleking on 2012-02-12River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

Wonderful night of humor and the complete re-telling of the driving instructor bit. Excellent! Lots of new stuff kept it interesting but enough old favourites to provide all the laughs you remember from years ago. Love the "History of the Newharts in America" film and narration. Great night!

    Newhart still gets the laughs!

by DelightedFan on 2012-02-12River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

Observing the crowd as it entered the theatre, it was mainly older fans in the 60+ range. That put us in the minority , the under 50 crowd. The average age probably explained the less than enthusiatic response to this show - I think the crowd enjoyed it, but didn't really show it. Applause and laughter were somewhat muted throughout, for no good reason. Show started with a band doing some old standards - it was ok, but no one came for the tunes so it was not really appreciated and it was nice to finally see Newhart come out on stage. He started with a couple of "politically incorrect" jokes, and acknowledged that that was what they were. Then he went on to say that everyone is funny, regardless of race, color, sexual orientation, religion, etc. and that it seemed the whole PC thing has really gone too far. He's absolutely right! Once he got going, he was great. Most of his show was old material we've all seen & heard before, but it still remains funny. About the only criticism I have is that he should update some of his material, as his references to the past fall a bit flat as many no longer remember. His delivery is still spot on, and the video clips of the humourous "history" of Newharts in America was quite well done! Wish he had done a bit more material, since he was only on for barely an hour, but it was still worth seeing him.

Bob, was amazing!! it started the minuate he came out, and we laughed till the end. And we were laughing about his routine on our way out. There was a warmup act before Bob, she was Great!! Definately, we will be going back to the Casino Windsor for their other shows, the staff is always courteous, and the shows are great, we saw over 10 shows last year., and we can't say we have ever seen a bad one!

    Bob Newhart only gets better

by Herbie2 on 2011-03-29The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

I believe that Bob Newhart at age 78 is even funnier than when I first fell in love with his humour in 1961. He had us rolling on the aisles from the first word out of his mouth until the end of his performance. I must comment on Casino Windsor. If an event starts at 9:00PM, it should start on time, and not make 1000 people who made the effort to get there on time, sit for 20 minutes while stragglers come in. To the people of Windsor, I have never seen such rudeness to a performer, ever. Some people were walking by the front of the stage on their way to gamble (I presume) even before Newhart was finished. These neanderthals were walking about 10 feet in front of Newhart who was still not finished his act. He finally just quit and walked off the stage. I knew Windsor was a blue collar town, but did not realize actually how uncouth some of the residents really are.

Are you kidding? It was Bob Newhart! Hilarious, engaging, and adorable! He seemed to be enjoying himself as much as we were- and the old clips were great. Loved it :)
