Rating: 5 out of 5 Brand New kills it with variety
by Ukraz on 2012-08-05Sound Academy - TorontoThis was my first time seeing Brand New, and as expected they blew it out of the park. The show was rich with a variety of songs from their entire career. They opened with "Millstone," with the entire sold out crowd singing a long. If I remember correctly, the song count totalled 4 songs from "Your Favourite Weapon", 6 from "Deja Entendu", 7 from "Devil and the god are ragin inside me", and 6 from "Daisy". The show crescendoed with an extended version of "You won't know", followed by "Play Crack the Sky", finishing with a very long intense version of "Welcome to Bangkok". There are so many things I could say about why this show was amazing, but you should just go see them.
Rating: 4 out of 5by ALakinWillis on 2012-08-04Sound Academy - Toronto Fantastic show! Played all of my favourites! This band needs to come back to Toronto more often! The crowd was almost as loud as the band when singing along!
Rating: 5 out of 5by Shwingawesomeness on 2012-08-04Sound Academy - Toronto Best show ever. Easily. Brand New is amazing live and is a must for everyone, even if you don't know who they are! Life changing!
Rating: 5 out of 5 Great show!
by Aggro on 2012-08-03The Music Hall - LONDONI've seen Brand New before in Toronto, but this show was much better. There was a lot more energy and the crowd was pretty good. There was no encore, just as there wasn't one at the last show I went to either. They are the first headlining band I've every seen that does not do an encore. had never been to the Music Hall in London before. I really liked the venue for its intimate size and pretty darn good acoustics.

Rating: 5 out of 5 the most intense experience of my life
by Srah on 2009-11-25Kool Haus - TorontoCrime in Stereo were great, but too short a set in my opinion. Glassjaw were amazing openers, I'd totally pay to see them on their own sometime. But Brand New... they made me feel so many things. Ecstatic, overwhelmed, and all of the memories I have built up and connected to each song came rushing back to me. Myself and two of my best friends saw the Toronto show, and we are from Newfoundland. Best decision I've ever made. I got to see my favorite band, get their lyrics tattooed on me along with my best friend, and enjoy the most spectacular, intense show I've ever seen.
Rating: 5 out of 5by Krys89 on 2009-11-25Kool Haus - Toronto Brand New put on an amazing show at the Koolhaus. The opening band, Crime in Stereo, was received quite coldly by the crowd. However, the second band, Glassjaw, was much better received. In fact, the crowd got quite out of control during some of their songs. Personally, I thought they were on stage far too long, for we were all really there to see Brand New. Also, the transition between bands was incredibly slow, and at many times the people became restless and began screaming and chanting for Brand New to come out on stage. Finally, at nearly 10:30 pm, the one we had all been waiting for came on the stage. They made the wait well worth it, for they were unbelieveable. They sounded amazing, and put on an unforgettable show. If youre a fan, you should definitely see them live - they will not disappoint
Rating: 5 out of 5 a perfect reminder of how awesome they really are!
by ha3lo on 2009-11-24Kool Haus - TorontoJesse Lacey is a god and the band is as tight and phenomenal as ever. I tend to forget what to expect when they stay away so long but as soon as they hit the 1st note on Saturday I was reminded of their talent and power. While the newest album may not be their best so far, they rocked all the new songs and gave me a new respect for them. And as always, the older songs were given new life. Many times I found myself with eyes closed, heart beating to the song. When Jesse asked the audience not to 'talk' along to Limousine, i was thrilled! Finally I could hear HIM! Nothing he does/says is an accident... when he said talk, he meant talk... let the band who wrote the songs sing the GD songs!

Rating: 3 out of 5 It was okay.
by Airborne on 2009-11-23Kool Haus - TorontoThis was my first concert experience ever. I'm a short person and there was always a tall guy in front of me and I was pushed around a lot while trying to film, so I had to move to another spot. The band played some good songs, but didn't play the rest of the ones I wanted to hear. Overall, I had an okay time, but I had to leave early.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Brand New was awesome!
by aprilb22 on 2009-11-23Kool Haus - TorontoBrand New was amazing last night. They played all of the old favourites, some Devil and God, and some songs from their new album Daisy as well. It didn't matter which album was preferred by guests, everyone got a taste of their favourite version of Jesse Lacey and all of Brand New.
Rating: 1 out of 5 Brand News is now Screamo officially
by ggbd on 2009-11-23Kool Haus - TorontoI hadn't listened to their new album before I went, but no one told me Brand New turned into screamo music! They even turned their old great songs into screamo music as well. Geez, seriously worst concert I've ever been to. The only reason I stayed was to see them smash the stage at the end of the night, and they didn't even do that. Big disappointment

Rating: 3 out of 5 Brand New, Glassjaw, Crime in Stereo
by tomtrainwreck on 2009-11-22Kool Haus - TorontoCrime in Stereo put on a solid 4 song set. Lots of energy. Glassjaw is a great band, but not soo great live. The lead singer must have been on drugs as he stumbled awkwardly across the stage all night. I know he is a weird live performer, but he almost fell over a couple times and need to be helped. Missing tons of lyrics, mindlessly screaming most others. He did belt out a few good slower songs, Ape dos mil, Cavalcade, etc Brand New is a very sold live band, they did not disappoint. They actually made me appreciate their new album more than I did prior. I would put this at 4 stars but Glassjaw really dropped the ball
