Calgary Wranglers History
The Calgary Wranglers are a professional hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL). The Wranglers trace their founding back to the Maine Mariners in 1977, but after several moves throughout the years, the Stockton Heat relocated to Calgary and were renamed the Calgary Wranglers ahead of the 2022–2023 AHL season. The name change itself was notable for reviving the same moniker as the former local Western Hockey League team, who played in Calgary from 1977 to 1987. In their inaugural AHL season, the Wranglers led the league in wins and regular season points, the latter of which earned the team the Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy.

Calgary Wranglers at Scotiabank Saddledome
The Calgary Wranglers moved into downtown Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome following the team’s relocation to Stampede City in 2022. Despite its relatively new occupants, the Scotiabank Saddledome is no stranger to hockey, having hosted the NHL’s Calgary Flames since its opening in 1983 as well as the WHL’s Calgary Hitmen since 1995. The 19,280-seat arena also accommodated the Wranglers’ predecessor, the Stockton Heat, in 2021 prior to the team’s move.

My son and I had a wonderful time. The level of hockey skill in the AHL is tremendous and it's a privilege to see such great talent early on in their careers. The Wranglers organization does a great job of keeping everyone entertained even through the intermissions. Go Wranglers!
My family and I recently went to the wranglers game and had the most incredible experience! The cost per game was under $40 per ticket for incredible seats, we were 2nd row 2nd ring. The concession was being sold at a discounted rate, I think 50% off… it was Wrangler fest so after the 2nd period, the players / staff of the Wrangkers gave out so much promotional product, I beleive every person who attended the game walked away with free Wrangler Merch I am so incredibly thankful to the Wranglers for this great experience. Oh. The the talent of athletes was just as good as any NHL game if not better in my opinion. The only thing that would have made the experience better would have been a goal scored by the Wrangler’s and winning the game, maybe next time…
Went to my first Wranglers game and it was a good time. Ticket price for the game is quite reasonable I think. If you want refreshments prepare to bring a bucket load of cash. Having the tickets downloaded on my phone from ticket master made entry easy and fast. Will plan another LIVE game night again.
Took my son for the first time. He enjoyed it more than I expected for the first time.
this was my first calgary wranglers game and i went with my friends wranglers won entertainment was amazing can't wait for the next one music was amazing
Sunday funday at the dome was such a fabulous experience!
Amazing game! Great show! One of the players threw my Boy a puck and the mascot gave us some flags. Great experience all around. Cant wait to go again.
Good fun family game not loud so nice to watch hockey in a relaxing fun atmosphere lots of ways to engage with crowd and wranglers staff.

Calgary Wranglers vs. Coachella Valley Firebirds. Good quality hockey. Offence, defence and goaltending all very good. Game tied and went to overtime. My team didn’t win, but we very much enjoyed the game all the same.
Had a lot of fun watching the game. Wished for a better outcome.
The Wranglers playoff game was exciting and a great atmosphere. The only downside was that the seats we had were damp from being cleaned after a previous event. We changed location but it wasn’t pleasant sitting for 3 hours with damp pants after those original seats.
It was an amazing atmosphere, my son loved it, the seats were great and hopefully we can catch some playoff games. Let's Go Wranglers!
I only gave it three stars. Friday's game was a win and Sunday's game was a loss. It was good to head down to the arena with a pal and watch some hockey.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the on ice product. I have been to several Hitmen games and I enjoy how good that hockey is but in fairness this is big step up and relatively similar prices. These guys are trying to get to the NHL so there are rarely any players going through the motions like you find at times with the other teams at the dome. It is worth giving it a chance.
Always a great experience at a Wranglers game. What made it even better was being able to submit a Birthday message and seeing it on the jumbotron!
Honestly for the price, the level of hockey you get is fantastic. I do wish some more vendors were open but there is still plenty of selection available and it’s always a fun time.
Good quality hockey, fun environment, good price. Even for an away team fan, I had a blast. Would definitely watch another Wranglers game again
No details. No desire. No speed. Only a couple of players showed any form that could move them to the Flames.
