    Almost Perfect

by StackSlayer on 2014-11-17Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Great material and deliveries by all 4 guys. Highly recommend! Would've liked to have seen a female comic added to the lineup but not a big deal that there were none. Only real complaints are that Demetri Martin mishandled a couple hecklers and made things worse with his annoyed response to their immaturity. The second one especially. The guy made one comment then likely thought better of it and shut his trap for a good minute or so but Demetri insisted on egging him on until the guy fessed up, stood up, spoke up and played along and then Demetri had him thrown out as well. Really took away from the set of a talented artist I'd been looking forward to seeing for years. Also, no flip chart comedy from Demetri and a guitar that sat on stage all night only to be ignored by all 4 comics. Lastly, really surprised at how short the show was. Traveling all that distance to only perform for under 2 hours between 4 guys seemed a bit of a waste. Could've easily enjoyed another half hour out of each comic. Might seem like a lot of complaints since they take up so much of the review but honestly, it was a hilarious night and I'd go again next tour for sure.

    Capital One Just For Laughs

by Trekster on 2014-11-17Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

This was my least favorite of all the Just For Laugh events that I have been to. None of the 4 comics stood out really. Off night. I would definitely go again and just hope for a better outcome. Unfortunately, for the last comic he had 2 hecklers and he didn't handle the last one very well. It went on and on, the comic was more irritating than the heckler. He should have just been able to shut him down and move on but it ruined the tone of his act.

    worst comedy show ever

by JustForAwkwardSilences on 2014-11-17Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

I was extremely disappointed with the comedic content of this show. It felt like a bunch of knock knock jokes.. one after the other, rather then actual stories. I appreciate when a comedian is able to deliver jokes as he's telling a story.. something to captivate and entertain the audience.. The first two comedians did indeed mumble and it was hard to understand what they were saying. Jon Dore was the best out of all the comedians, but still not even worth the price of the ticket.. Demitri Martin was by far the WORST. I actually cringed while he was on stage. All of my guests did, I brought 5 people to this show for a birthday.. worst idea ever.. there was this moment where Demitri Martin kicked out a guy in the audience because he made one joke, it wasn't even that bad... and Martin flipped out.. and wouldn't continue the show.. I wouldn't even call the guy a heckler, it was one offhand comment in the moment..to be funny.. to make the show funnier.. Martin wasn't being bullied.. but he couldn't handle it.. and then he turned the one offhand comment into a complete awkward situation.. seriously.. my whole group wanted to leave in that moment.. Martin made the guests uncomfortable, he couldn't roll with the punches.. there was a second "heckler" who was just pointing out that Martin was being a baby.. kicking someone out for nothing, and then Martin through all his attention on this other guy.. wouldn't let it go.. professional comedians should know how to handle audience members and know when to kick them out because its disrupting the show and know when to just let it slide by cause drawing attention to it just makes it worst.. anyways.. I can't believe I wasted so much money on this show... was supposed to be a fun night out.. I will never attend another just for laughs comedy tour.. its almost like they didn't even bother to review the material of the guys they were sending out with their name.. Gabriel Iglesias would have been worth it, we saw him last year and he was absolutely hilarious. Had a great energy and knew how to work a crowd. Too bad he was only on the east side for this tour.

2 of 4 comics were good but ended sourly

    by charlieBrown604 on 2014-11-17Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

I thought the 1st 2 guys were mediocre, the last 2 comics were pretty funny. However the heckler got the best of the last comic standing. Comedian kicked him out, however it totally changed the mood in the last 15 - 20 mins of the show. The comedian stopped delivering until the usher/security escorted the heckler out. Then shortly after that a second heckler decided to come to the first heckler's defence and made a fool of himself, fuelling the comedian with back to back disses. The heckler had nothing intelligent to say and really just ruined the rest of the show by being a nuisance until him and his girlfriend got kicked out.

    Awkward

    by CanAm82 on 2014-11-17Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

I have been going to the just for laughs show for the past 8 years. This show was decent not the best I have seen by any means. We liked the event location this year. As for the show it did come off the rails when demitri got pissed at a couple hecklers. The crowd was rather shocked of how Demitri acted, I just took it as everyone has bad days at work and I think he was definitely having a bad day that night. I will be getting tickets again next year cause it is tradition but in my opinion the shows have been slipping in quality.

    Just for cash

by Gtozzi on 2014-11-17Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

It was ok dimitri Martin was excellent. Set design was lacking. A jumbo screen would of been nice for the people on the balcony. Most shows usually have a screen on each side of the stage. Also a just for laughs logo somewhere would of been nice. This could of been on the screens before the show. Did not like Jon dor ripping the bible even if it was fake although he was good overall. Didn't like the other guy who dropped so many f bombs. First and last guys were awesome. Disappointed there was no encore. Would go again especially to see dimitri. The way he handled the heckler was awesome funny but they should of added extra time because that wasted a lot of time.

    Just for Laughs was disappointing

by Spiderqueen on 2014-11-17Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

I've been to many Just for Laughs shows but this one was unbearable to watch. The comedians weren't funny and the whole heckling thing got out of control and it was uncomfortable to watch. Disappointed, expected so much more.

    Just for laughs

by Anonymous on 2014-11-17Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Jokes were entertaining except the last person that took heckling too far and I felt uncomfortable in the audience to the point of feeling unsafe that anger would flare and get out of control.

2014 Capital One JFL tour KCT

by mj68 on 2014-11-17Kelowna Community Theatre - Kelowna

I have been going to the JFL tour at the Kelowna Community Theatre since I moved to Kelowna 7 years ago. I always have a great time and have seen some amazingly funny comics. I always look forward to this event coming to Kelowna each year. I was equally excited this year and I hate to say it, but this year the show was a little disappointing. I didn't find it as entertaining as in previous years. To me, it seemed like the comedians didn't want to be in Kelowna. I was a little nervous when Demitri Martin got a little angry with a "heckler" in the audience. I didn't hear this person in the audience heckling at first, but it was a little unnerving with the exchange that was going on. I was a little disappointed that the comics didn't do their usual meet and greet after the show, but still had a good time seeing the 4 comedians! I am looking forward to the next Capital One Just For Laughs Tour in 2015 when it comes through Kelowna. I will not miss it!

Fluffy, Godfrey, Dom Irrera and Martin Moreno..WOW

by NewGBSFan on 2014-11-17Massey Hall - Toronto

First Time JFL goer and will definitely be back! Martin was a fantastic warm up guy and host for the evening. He made sure that everybody with a kid knew when kid friendly and adult only material could be expected and did a great job of breaking the ice and getting us laughing. Dom Irrera followed with a very funny but very adult set that got the house going strong with unexpected twists and left us revved up. Godfrey then came in and stole the show with a mix of slapstick observational humor that made you feel at home like you've known him forever...and finally, Gabriel Fluffy Iglesias came to the stage and kept the laughter rolling. Working well beyond the scheduled set time and using fresh new routines followed by the crowd pleasing oldies, a great time! After the show got to meet and take photo with Fluffy. Exceptional!!

    Fluffy what happened?

by WattUp on 2014-11-17Massey Hall - Toronto

The opening acts were the stars of the show. Gabriel was not very funny. If I was paying to see a speaker it would not have been Gabriel Iglesias. The limited sound affects were amazing, but his previous tours/jokes blew this event out of the water. I went to the Thursday show and maybe he was not at his best, but a comedian has to be ON every night he performs, and he wasn't ON Thursday evening. I was disappointed!

No MC, very short sets by first three not terribly funny comedians, and final set felt painfully long as comedian selfishly decided to make the audience share in the discomfort he felt in response to being heckled. Really awful.

It was weird & mean that Dimitry kicked 2 people out. It created tension & took us out of laughing mood. I don't agree with heckling but Dimitry handled IT in the worst way possible. We felt like we watched a fight instead of a comedy show. I won't recommend watching Dimitry to anybody. The first two comedians were not funny.

Just for Laughs Comedy Tour = Failure

by BobiBe on 2014-11-17McPherson Playhouse - Victoria

We've been going to the Just for Laughs comedy tour for around 7-8 years and this year was hands down the worst. The show felt very cheap and rushed. Usually there is a host that talks, jokes and interacts with the audience as well as introducing the comedians on stage, but this year there was just some guy on a mic who didn't seem like he even knew the comedians. Levi MacDougall seemed like he was on for 10 minutes and he wasn't funny at all...Todd Glass was a little better but not by much. Jon Dore was the best and Demetri Martin was just a bunch of one-liner jokes he found online. Usually Just for Laughs picks the best comedians and tours Canada, this year they sent a bunch of comedians that seemed to be practicing their jokes as they came on stage with their notebooks...Worst show ever. The comedians didn't even seem like they were interested in being here. Hopefully next year isn't this bad. Our group went to Japanese village afterwards and the cook there was funnier than the Just for Laughs comedians.

    Last Comedian was a disapointment

by PottyMouth on 2014-11-17Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Good show until the last comedian ran into hecklers. You couldn't even hear what the hecklers said. The guy stopped the show, twice, to have hecklers removed. Very uncomfortable situation, it ruined the whole night. While I don't agree the hecklers should be shouting out comments (bad). The Comedian could have ignored them. He just made it a horrible show.

    Yuck

by Muggy on 2014-11-17Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Sorry.... but my son and I were disappointed with the length and quality of the show! It was not the "heckler" who disrupted the show but the comedian who made too big of a deal about it. His professionalism was way lacking. Over all it was not worth the $54.00 I paid for each ticket!

Not what I was hoping for!

by Anonymous on 2014-11-17Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Regretfully , we were very disappointed with our evening of much anticipated laughter. The evening just didn't "buck up" and also left us with a very "uncomfortable" feeling when the entertainer was unable to deal with a heckler in the crowd, grinding an "already lacking" performance into the ground. Glad we were sitting by the exit door!
