CARIBOU IN CONCERT:
Canadian folktronica master Caribou, a.k.a Dan Snaith, continues to explore the farthest-flung corners of the sonic universe with his eclectic productions, expanding his musical palette to include elements of chillwave, neo-psychedelia, and even EDM. Caribou's live shows are just as ambitious as his recordings, featuring multiple drummers and massive avant-garde video projections that add new dimension to dance floor-friendly gems like "Odessa" and "Can't Do Without You". With Our Love -- his first full-length since 2010's Swim -- hitting shelves in 2014, Caribou has fans eagerly awaiting the opportunity to experience cuts from the album in the flesh on one of his must-see tours.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Ontario-born Dan Snaith debuted his unique brand of folk-tinged electronica in 2000 under the name Manitoba. After dropping several critically acclaimed releases under the moniker, he retired it due to threats of legal action from punk rock singer Richard "Handsome Dick" Manitoba, reemerging as Caribou in 2005 with the album The Milk of Human Kindness. After extensive touring in support of the release Snaith returned to the studio to record 2007's Andorra, which received the prestigious 2008 Polaris Music Prize. 2010's dance music-influenced Swim LP was also honored as a shortlist contender for the prize, bringing him back out on the road for another series of electrifying shows. With the highly anticipated album Our Love out in 2014, Snaith has ticket buyers chomping at the bit for a chance to catch him live.
Caribou was a luxury of sound and visuals perfectly coordinated to take the mind and soul to some great and positive places. The venue was amazing although the beverage prices were OUCHY.
This was by far the most I danced in a long time. Such incredible musicians; if you like drum&bass I highly recommend! 5+++ ⭐️ frim this gal!
The sound, the lights, the way tracks melded into each other, the live band…couldn’t stop dancing. Incredible show. I just want to relive all those live renditions. Takes the original tracks to a whole new level.

Great venue, great sound, great show! One big criticism is the overpriced drinks...12$ for a can of beer is exaggerated. Plus tip, we are at 15$ for a beer! Ridiculous. Those are Bell Centre prices. That shouldn't be allowed in a smaller venue. 8 or 9$ is plenty enough for a can of beer in my opinion.
Every song was better than the album version. Visuals were perfect and the full band is mind blowing. Just a very well constructed show and amazing experience.
Winnipeg was the last stop on his tour and it was a bit obvious. Showed up and played the gig.
Amazing show, they never ever disappoint. Feel lucky they picked Saskatoon as one of there Canadian dates!

Adding to the excitement of seeing pre-pandemic level crowds in the ballroom, the show was phenomenal on its own. Its a surreal experience that words can't describe. Maybe I am a newbie to electronic music concerts but if this experience is supposed to be the standard, then I am hooked. Thanks Caribou for the wonderful memory!
