CARIBOU IN CONCERT:

Canadian folktronica master Caribou, a.k.a Dan Snaith, continues to explore the farthest-flung corners of the sonic universe with his eclectic productions, expanding his musical palette to include elements of chillwave, neo-psychedelia, and even EDM. Caribou's live shows are just as ambitious as his recordings, featuring multiple drummers and massive avant-garde video projections that add new dimension to dance floor-friendly gems like "Odessa" and "Can't Do Without You". With Our Love -- his first full-length since 2010's Swim -- hitting shelves in 2014, Caribou has fans eagerly awaiting the opportunity to experience cuts from the album in the flesh on one of his must-see tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Ontario-born Dan Snaith debuted his unique brand of folk-tinged electronica in 2000 under the name Manitoba. After dropping several critically acclaimed releases under the moniker, he retired it due to threats of legal action from punk rock singer Richard "Handsome Dick" Manitoba, reemerging as Caribou in 2005 with the album The Milk of Human Kindness. After extensive touring in support of the release Snaith returned to the studio to record 2007's Andorra, which received the prestigious 2008 Polaris Music Prize. 2010's dance music-influenced Swim LP was also honored as a shortlist contender for the prize, bringing him back out on the road for another series of electrifying shows. With the highly anticipated album Our Love out in 2014, Snaith has ticket buyers chomping at the bit for a chance to catch him live.

    Magical :)

by Ujean on 2021-11-28The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Caribou was wholesome and vibey and so sweet to the audience. Sound felt off for Silver, but otherwise everything was an audio-visual treat and left me hoping I had gone on an earlier night so I could've gone multiple times.

    Caribou, great experience

by Peter on 2021-11-28The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Had a great time at the Caribou show at Danforth Music Hall. Their Covid protocol were in place, but did not feel too restrictive. People seemed to be in a good mood in general, just to be back at a show. The band was spot on, and also looked like they were happy to be back.

    8 days notice

by Aaron on 2021-11-27The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

After over a year of delays I was finally told that this concert would go forward 8 days prior, not anywhere near enough time to change plans so I could go, especially considering it was a mid week concert. I was very much anticipating this concert and was looking forward to seeing Caribou live. I'm not sure who shat the bed but ticketmaster or the promoter fucked up big time and were completely useless in terms of customer service.

Great to be back at the Danforth Music Hall

by James on 2021-11-26The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Caribou was great. It was so nice to see him play with a small band, and he clearly had a great time. The sound and lighting enhanced the night, and I had a good time. I wish there was more mask compliance inside the venue, and that they were scanning QR codes at the door as the only means of entry (I know that's not required by the province, but it should be). I had a great time, but it didn't feel as safe as it could have...

    Just wow!

by SamSam on 2021-11-25MTELUS - Montreal

Best show in... I can't remember. Great band of course, but amazing quality all around: sound (it was not too loud, but strong enough to fill us with vibrations, thank you!!!), Lights, bathrooms, you name it. Staff was clearly happy to be there, too.

    Just what I needed

by Sara Dee Tee on 2021-11-25MTELUS - Montreal

After being cooped up for almost two years the Caribou concert was just what I needed, to dance. everyone in the crowd seemed genuinely happy to be there, for what I assume are similar to my reasons. Very happy this was my first concert since the pandemic.

    Live Renditions A Treat!

by Retrofox on 2015-04-18Union Hall - Edmonton

Caribou was great! The band had good energy and looked like they were having fun on stage. They seemed really comfortable with their instruments, and as such gave some GREAT live renditions of new and classic caribou songs. Seeing Caribou live gives you a chance to hear your favorite songs in all new ways, with extended jams and stellar improvisation.

    Breathtaking!

by Onizuka on 2014-11-29The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Their set-list was great! They pulled it off brilliantly! The location was great and provided a very enjoyable intimate feel to the music. I just wished they would have scheduled a second day for their home fans.
