    Troubarour Reunion was phenomenal!!!

by Ochaye on 2010-05-29Air Canada Centre - Toronto

What an amazing evening. Every one of the band were gifted artists. Classy show which took me down "memory lane." I've seen James Taylor at Massey Hall several years ago and he still has his smooth, effortless voice. Carole was a bit raspy (for which she apologized) but a truly magical concert which is way up on my list of best concerts and we've seen most of the artists who are part of our life.

Carole's voice was a bit raspy last night, but she carried herself very well. James is simply amazing. They had commented that when selecting the set list they wanted to sing for seven hours.....well everyone in the packed ACC would have loved that.

    James & Carole - Classic!

by LorMic on 2010-05-29Air Canada Centre - Toronto

James Taylor and Carole King together again, what could be better. Despite battling a cold that limited her range, Carole showed that she's a trooper - belting out her hits with raw power. James was as smooth as ever, singing his sweet melodies and happily bantering with the audience. Not only did we see 2 classic performers, but witnessed a group of musicians who truly seem to enjoy and share in the concert experience. What a memorable night!

Carole and James still got it!

by autumnkrimson on 2010-05-29Air Canada Centre - Toronto

What a wonderful evening. They even had all the members of their original band with them. After receiving a standing ovation once arriving on stage, and getting several more throughout the show, it was evident that Carole and James felt very humbled by the sold out crowds affections. They are true music legends in every sense of the word. A performance that I will cherish always.

    Like I Was 15 Again...

by GGirls on 2010-05-29Air Canada Centre - Toronto

I grew up during Carol King and James Taylor's "Hey Day". I use to lay in my bed with my Headphones on listening to Tapestry and Sweet Baby James. Their message was hopeful and uplifting and it helped make me think that no matter what was going on, everything was going to be OK. When my girls were children, they grew up in a house where they heard/listened to James and Carol when I did not have the headphones on. They grew to appreciate and admire both artists just as much as I did. The remark from my younger daughter last night was that listening to their songs "just makes me happy." Last night's concert took me back to those early days. The setting, considering the sold out crowd, was very intimate. When I closed my eyes I could visualize being back in my room, listening to my records. The same voices and the same positive message. In a world where everything is constantly changing, it was nice to experience something that brought back the same good feelings that I had as a teenager. I am now at an age where I can reflect back and know that all those years ago they were right....I was at a concert, with the two most important people in my life, listening to two of my favourite artists....Everything did turn out OK !

James Taylor, Carole King Troubadour Reunion

by Norm1955 on 2010-05-29Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Excellent! James Taylor sounds better now than he ever did (3rd time we have seen him). And while Carole King struggles at time to maintain her voice (she admitted that during the concert), it is easy to forgive her; she still rocks with the best of them! At 68 she still sounds better than most performers do today! The music sets for Troubadour was fantastic, covering the "besty of the best", and JT's warmth and relaxed performance makes you feel like they are performing in your own neighbourhood. If you EVER get an opportunity to go...DO IT!!! I would go again. Unfortunately, Toronto was their only Canadian date.

This concert was worth every penny. Carol King was wonderful and brought me back to my youth. James Taylor was all that and more. I missed his other visits to Toronto and had no intention of missing this one. Sure glad that I didn't....LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!!

    James and Carole Reunion

by judylynn on 2010-05-29Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Troubadour Reunion was an amazing evening filled with nostalgia. So many wonderful and memorable moments were revisted last evening. I loved every moment. I joined in singing, much to the displeasure of the people next to me!

James is AMAZING & not to be missed

by PeDuck on 2010-05-29Air Canada Centre - Toronto

James Taylor put on another GREAT show and was backed-up by the original band it was FANTASTIC!! Carole King was also good and upbeat, but sadly lacked the energy of times gone by unfortunately she was suffering from a cold or some illness and did not have her full vocal range. All in all, we were thrilled to be there and lok forward to his return - again and again.

The concert was really really good. The rapport between these two long time performers/friends was fantastic. James' voice was strong and beautiful throughout. Unfortunately, Carole had a cold/voice sctratchiness, which you could hear, but boy could she still belt out the songs, (she was the crowd pleaser many times). Her presence with James on stage definately benefitting both. A truly memorable concert.

Exceeded all my expectations, truly a memorable concert...two musical icons, their chemistry was palpable and the music was amazing. Fantastic that it was all the original musicians together again, they came full circle.

Carole King should not has played last night.

by SouthernGal406 on 2010-05-29Air Canada Centre - Toronto

We bought these tickets last February. The acoutics were fabulous, and James Taylor was in fine form, but Carole's voice was just not there. Having paid $300.00 collectively, I was disappointed. She tried her hardest, and for that she deserves a medal, but when an event is riding on a voice, it should be good. Her humility, and grace more than shined. She was great on the piano, and the guitar. It's just too bad that her voice was not doing that well.

James and Carole what a night...........

by Anonymous on 2010-05-29Air Canada Centre - Toronto

As always james was in fine form for interacting with all who came to see the show and helped carole who"s voice was acting up a bit it was horse but as a duo they were wonderful . the night was interspersed by a bevy of stars that helped make it a wonderfull eveing Russ Kunkel ,on drums , Danny Kortchmar on guitar Leland Skalr on bass with Arnold Mculler on vocals Kate Markovitz vocals ,Andrea Zonn Vocals and violin and last but not least Robbie Kondor rounding out the band that helped make a great night out. The band is made up of ppl who with both performers were an integral part of ther being all have played with both performers in the past it was truly a night i will never forget plus a great selection of songs .like sweet baby james so far away and so many others welcome back to the troubadour.thanks James and carole it was unforgettable.

    Fabulous

by Anonymous on 2010-05-29Air Canada Centre - Toronto

This show was truly amazing. Despite the vastness of the A.C.C., Carole King and James Taylor seamlessly created a friendly, loving atmosphere that connected the audience to them from the get-go. I forgot all of the wonderful songs that Carole King had written. James Taylor continues to sing his way into my heart.. His solo concerts are always wonderful, but with Carole King, this was just that much more special. So glad I was there.
