    James Taylor/Carole King-true artistry

by op123 on 2010-05-29Air Canada Centre - Toronto

What a great concert. The crowd was pumped, they sang and so did we. The James Taylor and Carole King reunion concert did not disapoint. With only a 20 minute break, they put other younger groups to shame. James Taylor was funny and humble and Carole King although a little raspy from an apparent throat affliction belted out the songs like it was her first time singing them. They appeared to truly be enjoying themselves which in turn made the audience at ease and comfortable. James Taylor was at the top of his game and sang superbly. Fans of all ages were singing and rocking in their seats. Too much fun for one night!

    Troubadour was Perfect!!

by THXCKJT on 2010-05-29Air Canada Centre - Toronto

We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful time. Carole and James chose the songs I wanted to hear......their vocals were strong and good, even with Carole battling a bit of a sore throat. With the warmth and fun they shared, we felt like we were in a small venue with them. The band was excellent, very tight, and the backup singers were the best harmonizers I've heard. A great evening of memories.....my favourite concert ever!! Thank you Carole & James!

    Carole King/James Taylor-Troubadour Reunion

by smartchick on 2010-05-29Air Canada Centre - Toronto

This was one of the most outstanding concerts I have ever attended at the ACC. We enjoyed the experience from start to finish--including the encores at the end. The musicianship was outstanding. The back up vocals were fabulous. Everyone on stage was at the top of his/her game. A thoroughly enjoyable event.

    Carole & James in Toronto

by Toronto99 on 2010-05-29Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Kind of disappointing. I guess we're all getting old. Muddy sound quality - I don't know if this was the sound engineer's fault or whether it was because we were sitting in the corner under a slight overhang. Sight line of the stage was obstructed by the large electrical cables that had been strung from the floor to the overhanging equipment. Carole King had a sore throat or something - she was raspy and obviously struggling. Poor thing. She tried valiantly to belt out the strong notes, and still infused a lot a enthusism into the concert. James Taylor is getting old. In his patter between songs he reminded me of my grandpa, slightly stooped, struggling to find words, repeating himself. Amazingly though, when he sang he was right on. The only other thing I'll say is that this was the most disorganized, pushy, rudest, crowd I've ever been in, and I've been to 2 general admission Who concerts. I only saw one usher inside the concert bowl all night. There were disputes over seats, people just standing/talking and blocking throughways, and I was physically shoved/prodded numerous times, including by one woman who had decided that she and her daughter shouldn't have to wait in line at the concession stand and tried to push me out of the way to get in front of me ( I was second in line at the time). After having a confrontation with me, she did the same thing to the next person behind me in line, and anothe confrontation occurred.

    Carole and James - fabulous

by carolefan on 2010-05-29Air Canada Centre - Toronto

I've attended lots of concerts in my day but this was one of the very best from start to finish. The ACC was rocking - Carole and James sang their hearts out to a sold out crowd who gave them standing 0s on several occasions. I loved the format, the ease with which the musicians interacted with each other. Truly an unforgettable evening.

    Remarkable evening

by Janehb on 2010-05-29Air Canada Centre - Toronto

My husband and I sat with the thousands of baby boomers last night lapping up the forty year old songs performed by this remarkable duo who obviously were enjoying us as much as we were them. The ACC is a perfect venue. We began with dinner in the Club where we bumped into some old high school cronies we hadn't seen in decades. The show was a nice mix of Taylor's melancholic folk and King's more up tempo rock tunes. And, true to all great concerts, the back up singers and musicians were amazing support. Instruments including an accordion and violin. Sublime. Thanks for this memorable evening.

    James Taylor-Carole King Troubadour Concert

by trishabadish on 2010-05-28The Palace of Auburn Hills - Auburn Hills

I've been to hundreds of concerts- most recently Michael Buble and the James Taylor -Carole King concert ranks right up there with the best of them. The sound in the arena was excellent and both their voices were rich and pure. They sound better live than on disc and for their ages they put on an outstanding performance- you can truly tell they love what they do and hopefully will keep on keeping on for many more years. I saw James Taylor in 1975 at the Olympia with Gordon Lightfoot, Harry Chapin and John Denver and his voice is still sweet and smooth as ever - a pure delight. Recommend it to all ages-

    A magical evening - a must see!

by Dwhite on 2010-05-26Xcel Energy Center - Saint Paul

what a fantastic show - we stayed until the bitter end (almost 3 hours with one short intermission). Both Carole and James were terrific- gifted writers and performers and still terrific - not has beens in the least (which is always my fear going to something like this). We loved the stage in the round that revolves and the big screens overhead. Even my husband that doesn't rank anything above a 'good' said it was 'very good'. We had a wonderful time.
