Cat Burns went from “busking to a platinum record,” as the BBC put it. The South London singer/songwriter broke through with her 2020 hit “go” — a trending TikTok song that eventually climbed the U.K. Singles Chart and peaked at No. 2. The BRIT school (home to Adele and Amy Winehouse) graduate is noted for her genre-defying pop ballads that blend everything from gospel to glossy guitar pop. Songs like “people pleaser,” “anxiety,” and “ghosting” have made Burns a defining voice of Gen Z, and cemented her as a TikTok phenom. Burns was handpicked by Ed Sheeran to open on the 2022 European leg of his Mathematics Global Tour, and has also toured with Years & Years and Sam Smith. Burns headed out on her first headlining North American solo tour, dubbed Burns in the USA (and Canada xo), in 2023.
