About

CHRIS BOTTI IN CONCERT:

Trumpet virtuoso Chris Botti has made a lasting impression on his audiences ever since his first touring gig with Frank Sinatra in the '80s. The trumpeter's style and grace can't be matched as he fills the room with the sounds of his 1939 Handcraft brass trumpet, spellbinding audiences with the instrument's rich tones. The Grammy Award winner has played with a number of legendary artists including Sting and Andrea Bocelli, captivating audiences with signature hits like "Regroovable" alongside classics like "Ave Maria." Chris Botti never fails to disappoint, and he's sure to take fans on a musical journey they won't soon forget with his string of 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Influenced by his mother's musical background, Chris Botti began playing the trumpet at age nine, but it wasn't until he heard the classic Miles Davis track "My Funny Valentine" several years later that he decided to pursue a career in music. During his senior year at Indiana University, Botti toured with Frank Sinatra, which led to a number of gigs with famous artists like Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin and Natalie Cole. Since then, he's released ten studio albums — seven have reached Top 10 spots on the Billboard Jazz chart — and sold three million records. He's also been the host of the radio show Chill With Chris Botti and performed with the Boston Pops Orchestra alongside John Mayer, Josh Groban, and Yo-Yo Ma. Back on the road in 2014, the trumpet virtuoso is set to captivate fans on his highly anticipated world tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Chris Botti and his group are the best of the best in the arena of ultra-talented musicians. Of course the handsome man with the horn never lets his audience down. Even though he performs 300 days a year, he gives the audience his all as though it's one show just for them."

"Not only does Chris Botti shine with his talents, he has top notch musicians and a singer to make it an overall outstanding, entertaining evening. ...will definitely try to see the next show!"

"Chris Botti was charming in relating to the audience, and put on a spectacular display of musicianship. He's one of, if not the best, at his craft."

    by chris139 on 2013-10-08Massey Hall - Toronto

I have been a fan of Chris Botti for years and this was my first live performance to hear him and it was everything and more, His special guests were great and his mastery of the trumpet is beyond anything I have heard. One person I never missed coming to Toronto was Chuck Mangione, it would be great to get those two together! Don't miss an opportunity to go to one of Botti's concerts, you won't be disappointed.

    Best venue ever

by Provence1965 on 2011-09-06Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

Seeing Chris Botti play at the Ste Michelle Winery has spoiled me for any other venue when listening to music. The crystal clear notes from Chris were simply fabulous and combined with the ability to sit and sip wine while listening just made it the best live music experience. I would definitely recommend the Ste Michelle winery as an optimal live music venue.

    Botti Delivers Class Act

by Richmond on 2010-04-16Jack Singer Concert Hall (ECPA) - Calgary

Chris Botti delivered an amazing performance at the Jack Singer Concert Hall in Calgary, AB. The audience was enthralled by his two hour, no intermission, no warm-up band evening. His exceptional grace as a performer underlines his brillance. Botti's ability to create magical musical moments with very gifted members on the stage speaks volumes about his vision. Cleary he is motivated to inspire young musicians to stay focused with their own dreams of musical endeavours. We purchased our tickets 5 months ago...the wait was so worth the while! What a perfect evening!

    Chris Botti was jaw dropping

by Anonymous on 2010-04-14Jack Singer Concert Hall (ECPA) - Calgary

It was absolutely mesmerizing to watch "true musicians" play music. The violinist was stunning and at times I forgot to breathe when she played and at other times I had tears in my eyes. The guitarist exuded pure talent. Loved the instruments, not so much the singer, and on that note, I didn't feel I got enough of Chris himself. I would have liked to have heard at least one long solo of Botti achingly belting out a tune.

Chris Botti is the consumate performer. He is unmatched in his own trumpet playing yet he is so gracious in the way he continues to give the stage and limelight to other artists on the stage, both guest artists as well as his own band. So great to see how he just floats in and out of the lighting when he performs but backs right out when he has others playing. He is very accessible proven by signing his autograph to any who wanted it. Great show masterfull band

    Chris Botti in Calgary

by MM123 on 2010-04-14Jack Singer Concert Hall (ECPA) - Calgary

The concert is amazing. It's a bit different than his last show in Calgary. This one is like live party on stage sharing with audience. Elisa Fischer is great, too. No matter the artistes or the audience, all are giving out the best performance for the 120-min. I love the rundown without intermission. That way, everyone can pick up the mood without icy down for intermission. The only thing is, someone really need to go to toilet. Therefore, it causes too many people getting in and out during the performance.

    Quite disappointed

by cappagal on 2010-04-14Jack Singer Concert Hall (ECPA) - Calgary

Chris Botti is an amazing artist and I was so excited to attend this event. Unfortunately I didn't get what I expected...Yes Chris Botti performed and when he did he was awesome. But there was WAY TOO MUCH filler music from his band. They are very talented musicians no doubt - but I didnt pay to see them play solos all night. I paid to see Chris Botti play. As far as I was concerned...Chris could have been the only one up on stage and the show would have been 10x better.

by Hotdoghead on 2010-04-14Jack Singer Concert Hall (ECPA) - Calgary

Great concert - wonderful talent by Chris as usual. Where does he get the air. I say he blows from his toes! His gracious comments on members of his band - his choice of music and his special guests were over the top. We enjoyed this concert just as much as the first time we saw him in Regina at the Casino about three years ago. I would go again. It was a great night. Thankyou!

Botti, his band & guests phenomenal!

by Sticksman on 2010-04-14Jack Singer Concert Hall (ECPA) - Calgary

We saw a polished, exciting show Tuesday night and it was obvious Chris Botti came to entertain. This man and his stellar band were tight; the soloing was excellent and Botti developed an intimate rapport with the appreciative audience. Incredible guest violinist, Caroline Campbell and killer vocalist Lisa Fischer wowed the crowd with their talents. Botti shines on his trumpet but doesn't hesitate to let his company show off their considerable abilities, and everyone was given equal time. His between-song-banter was engaging and funny and he seemed to really want to send everyone home with a good memory of the evening. The icing on the cake was when Chris came out to the concert hall lobby after the show to autograph CD's/DVD's and posters, along with his accomplished pianist, Billy Childs. I'll remember this one for a long time!

    Epic Evening

by Sunbumpaul on 2010-04-14Jack Singer Concert Hall (ECPA) - Calgary

To see a performer that is a showman as well. It's wonderful to see how this talented man will share the stage with his amazing guests as well as his talented band members. He did what is asked of his talents, to have you sit for a few hours and disappear into his world of music, and what an escape it was. His conversations with the audience, made you feel like it was his living room and you were a regular friend dropping by for a visit. As with all wonderful evenings, it ended too quickly. yet another surprise!! After the show he comes out to sign autographs for those who will wait. He stayed until everyone, who wanted one, received it. As well as a few of the band members. For a man that has being on the road doing 300 shows per year for the past 6 years, he still has a good connection with his fans. I went home wanting more and looking forward to when he travels through our city again.

This was the best concert I've attended. The Jack Singer Concert Hall has perfect acoustics for this type of performance. Botti, the band and friends were in a class by themselves and the audience loved it.

I will do whatever I can to be able to see this man perform. Absolute value + for the money paid. Its so rare that you experience this total engagement by a performer with his audience. Amazing band and guest performers were an added treat and surprise!
