Having seen the authentic Cinderella, not this "adapted" version, this was a miserable comparison. The storyline was not portrayed well and was hard to follow. If one didn't know the story, there would have been no making any sense of this or the characters themselves. Cinderella's solo was little more than whirling about the stage. The coach was beautifully done, however, as were the horses. The attempts at the stepdaughters humour fell flat also. We left at intermission, which is now the second ballet in my lifetime that I've walked out on, the first one being Othello, also by Alberta Ballet. We'll continue to support Alberta Ballet, but it will be for the authentic and original choreography for classical ballets or guest artists. Sorry, guys, but you've got to do better.
