  • Alegria Left Me Cold

by beast on 2010-07-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

Not much substance to the show. It was too short and the intermission, at a half-hour, was too long. While the performers are certainly talented, the show was repetitive; by this I mean that the individual performers merely repeated the same thing again and again. There were few arial acts and the trampoline acts, while impressive, were repetitive. I would have preferred a story line or a theme of some sort, and this was not apparent to me. I much preferred OVO and LOVE to Alegria. Too bad I was so disappointed. And I was not impressed with security looking through my purse.

  • Seen Better

by LucasCritic on 2010-07-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

We have seen 10 shows from Toronto to Vegas...this was my least favorite. Too many clowns ruined the experience. They were annoying and NOT funny. Usually there are many smaller performances happening all at the same time so you can move your eyes across the stage to see many things all at once. I found this show boring.

  • Allegria was below average

by Esplanade on 2010-07-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

I've been to 4 Cirque shows and this was definitely #4 or tied for #3. For the most part, the stunts were ordinary, low-medium risk and not breath-taking. The final ten minutes of the first act made no sense to a lot of the crowd - not sure what the snow shower et al was supposed to do other than eat up time. I do not recommend this Cirque du Soleil production unless you get a really deal on tickets.

The acrobatics were amazing. It is almost impossible to believe that the human body can be pushed to extremes. you can't believe what some people are capable of doing until you see it for yourself. However, some of the clown fillers was really weird in a what the H%$ is going on right now kind of way. Certain fillers you could tell were funny, stupidly funny. But others were so out there and weird you almost feel like your supposed to be high to understand what is going on. OVerall though totally worth it.

  • Alegria, artistic, humorous , and spectacular

by dctrj on 2010-07-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The first half of the show we saw from the Air Canada Lounge while having dinner and the second half from the 7th row seats. Both sight lines were amazing and the show was filled with grace, balance, humour, and awesome displays of body control . This is an entertaining happy and uplifting event worthy of the traditions of Cirque de Soleil.

We really enjoyed the show, we sat on the third level so we couldn't see their facial expressions.

Do Cirque Du Soleil ever put on a bad show?? They are just the best. As usual I had a great time!

if you havent seen a cirque du sleil show, you might enjoy it. but after seeing O in vegas this was a little of a let down. music was good, could have used more acrobatics and less clowns and some sort of story line would have been good. a little pricey for what we got.

  • If your a kid at heart

by Jessp on 2010-07-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Alegria was amazing! From everything to the music, the acrobatics and the feel and look of the performance. I am so happy my boyfriend and I went. The show itself is targeted towards children and the young hearted, the skits in between have somewhat of a double entande and the costumes are something out of a dream. It is also has a touch of romance which wrapped up the show like a beautiful present. All in all it is something to be marvelled at and should be on your must do list if your visiting toronto soon! Regards, Jess

  • Not the best Cirque du Soleil

by Mimila on 2010-07-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

This was my 5th or 6th Cirque du Soleil. I found that this one has less of those amazing/breathtaking scenes than the others. Sometimes, it even feels like they are trying to waste our time by just putting some music and someone walking through the stage. I expected much more. My father, though, who was watching it for the first time, enjoyed it.

  • Excellent artists!

    by whitehouse62 on 2010-07-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The show began over 30 minutes late, which meant that we sat for over one hour before performance. The opening was slow to start with lots of entertainers just jumping & running around. Once the main entertainers appeared the pace was quickly picked up. Ater intermission the opening was once again slow but picked up after about 10 minutes and then excellent performances right to the end!

  • Alegria

The show was average mainly due to average filler comedy routines

  • Cirque du Soleil at the ACC.

    by nurse5 on 2010-07-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The show was great. The acrobats were amazing. Watching them move was both beautiful and frightening at the same time.

  • Alegria

by Slum on 2010-07-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The show was incredibly imaginative as are every Cirque du Soleil. The clowns were actually the stars of the show and brought back a more "circus" feel to the show more so than any other (and I have seen every show in Toronto for the last 5 or so years). The only lament is that the trapeze act was comparatively short compared to what I recall from past shows. But overall, always a great experience.

by GMirizio on 2010-07-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Wow, what an amazing show. My wife and I took her parents to see the opening night show. They were visiting from Germany, it was a total surprise, and boy were they ever surprised. They had never heard about Cirque, and now they are huge fans. Wonderfully put together from start to finish. Two thumbs up!!

i got right into it completley. I didn't even feel like i was in an arena. great show, very creative. My girlfriend and i went, we got decent seats and although a little far we could see pretty good. but just awesome, i would highly recommend

  • So worth the money!

by orcaftw on 2010-04-11Wolstein Center at CSU - ClevelandRating: 5 out of 5

This show was one of the best shows I've ever seen. It is so worth the money although I suggest not sitting on the floor unless you're in the front row because its hard to see. Other than that it was awesome and you'll never regret it! Enjoy!

  • Amazing! On par with Orlando La Nouba show!

by Maritime on 2010-03-08Sears Centre Arena - Hoffman EstatesRating: 5 out of 5

Fabulous performance in all aspects. Floor seating was good to be close to actors and participate in show. Still, I would recommend balcony seats, as the floor seats are too low to see everything in the stage and appreciate the overall performance. High recommendation for kids and adults. Stage was wonderful and creative. Music and singing was excellent, as always. Costumes were top of the line for this show. High wire acts were exciting. Go see this show, if you can.
