This show was not worth the exhorbitant amount I paid for it. 2 or 3 of the cast members were quite professional but the rest was amateurish
What we liked about the show we absolutely loved, and what we didn't care for we really didn't care for. The Amazing: The circus performers and two supporting dancers were incredible. We loved the aerialists, juggler, balancing act, contortionist and others. Every second of these acts were amazing and made the show worth while. The production design, artificial snow, lights, sound and atmosphere were all great. The man who played the part of Twinkle was incredibly entertaining as well. We really enjoyed his stage presence and charisma. The Not So Amazing: We did not care for the Princess (lead actress) or her male co-star one bit. The Princess's voice was high pitched and grating, and she kept sliding to find her notes when singing. The humour and camp was a miss for us. There was a lot of "over acting"which detracted and while their roles were required in order to fill the time between circus acts, because of the songs with lacklustre vocals it felt like this went on forever. The "story"was forgettable. Although to be fair it was really just there to support the circus performances which, again, where great. There were to many applause queues. We quickly grew tired of applauding despite enjoying the circus performances. It felt like every other "beat"there was a pause and request for admiration. It started to come across as try-hard. At the beginning of the show the intro video was full of advertisements for TCG Entertainment followed by a movie trailer and this set a really bad tone for the show. I can't think of a single other live performance we've been to where we were advertised to during the intro video. It was in very poor taste. Because the movie trailer during the intro was for a film about the story of Jesus, when the performance by the Princess and her male co-star began it made me feel like I was watching one of those cringe & try hard church musicals with high production value but ridiculous performances trying to make religion cool for kids. To be fair, the show itself was not religious, I only felt this way because of the trailer for a religious film. It made a bad first impression which set equally bad expectations for the show that it would otherwise not have.
the show was Fantastic but the sound level was too loud. No leg room.
While it definitely was not the same quality and standard we have seen in other Cirque shows, for what it was it was an enjoyable watch. There were once again very talented performers for the acrobatic pieces, and enjoyed the variety in the performances.
The performance was awesome but the lighting was terrible! During certain parts of the performance the spotlights on stage were positioned directly at the 2nd balcony, blinding everyone sitting there. Perhaps they should have checked that the lighting was good for everyone in the theatre, not just the main floor.
I didn’t realize this wasn’t a Cirque Du Soleil show when I booked it - so it wasn’t what I expected. With that being said - it was still a really good show! My daughter enjoyed it very much but the stage set up did block the view at times. The acrobatic acts were still quite good and the quick change artist was great!
The acrobatics were awesome. The 12 days of Christmas song was a lot of fun. Why the late start, could of started at 7:00 so more kids could attend on a school night. The microphones on the actors were set to high, volume way to loud.. Also less fooling around with the so - so story line and more of what people really want to see...the acrobatics, have been to two other cirque shows that I enjoyed much more. And what was with the trans ballet dancer flitting around not really having any true part in the story.
The venue was too big. One could not experience their performance or appreciate their skill because the arena was too big. It would have helped if the stage was in the middle.
It was an incredible show, filled with brilliant artistic and acrobatics. The storyline was timely as we move closer to the magic of Christmas. The reason for only 4 stars is that some of the light beams were blending direct in peoples eyes which resulted in not being able to see some of the scenes because you would have needed sunglasses. That is a health issue in my view. The other thing was that the microphones were so loud that the voice of the princess and some of the other actors were so high pitch and hard or not to understand at all. Everything else from ticketing to parking was excellent, as usual at the Jubilee. Thank you for a fun filled evening.
The first half the sound was extremely loud. The female singer was very shrill sounding. Could have used less of her singing and more of a variety of acrobatics. It would be nice to have people turn off their cell phones as the person next to me was texting the whole first half. The second half was much better than the first. The sound was not as shrill.
The acrobatics were very good but we didn’t really enjoy the childishness of the drama. It was kind of annoying.
It was cute, felt a bit more circus, then it did an actual cirque show.
I bought these tickets hoping our 10 year old granddaughter would enjoy it. She absolutely loved it! As did the rest of us. It had a great variety of entertainment including singing, comedy and some amazing acrobatics. Our granddaughters’s reaction to the exciting things that were happening onstage made it even more enjoyable. Outstanding family entertainment!
Started off way too loud and bright. Thought we may be leaving within the first ten minutes. Performances were good acting was bad. Glad we stayed for the second half, grandkids really enjoyed it. Overall was okay for the cost and three hours of drive time.
The singing was terrible. Fortunately, most of the acrobatics were able to save the evening. Except for the bubbles - not for the big stage at all.
The show was okay and my mother enjoyed it, but I would rate it as a B or C in quality. I think the show could have been better with a better lead singer and more Christmas songs. The show would fall between an amateur and professional production.
Not at all up to expectations of a Cirque show. This was a hokey show with second rate performers who cannot sing. We left at the intermission.
The performances overall were pretty good, could do without the bubble performance though. Enjoyed the acts otherwise, singer could have better musical tone. Stage setup was quite small given the size of the venue. A larger stage where the audience feels more encompassed in the show would be have made it ideal.
Acrobatics and voices were great. Thought it be mofe like other cirque
In relation to other Cirque shows I have seen, this was terrible. The performers were clearly 4th tier, the story was hokey, and the venue was not set up for optimal viewing. It felt very much like a high school production and the acts were unimpressive and repetitive. Would not recommend.
