  • Well…they tried

by DF on 2023-11-25WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 3 out of 5

Do not come expecting Cirque du Soleil, this is the Walmart version. The lead singer was great and the violinist was awesome. The balancing act and the double wheel were good. The children would enjoy but it is not enough for me. But, we left the house!

  • Cheesy and boring

by Emma on 2023-11-25WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 1 out of 5

The stunts were good but overall the show was too cheesy and slow. Hard to keep kids interested Stage set up was was hard to see been with floor seats.

  • Doesn’t quite live up to the cirque du soleil experience

by TT on 2023-11-25WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 3 out of 5

The production was underwhelming and boring at times.

  • Cheesy dialogue aimed at very young crowd

by Brian on 2023-11-25WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 2 out of 5

The acting in this show was very cringe-worthy, but likely would satisfy a crowd under 10. Our teenagers were embarrassed for the actors at the cheesy dialogue. The circus acts on their own were pretty good. If you've watched the best cirque company, you likely will be disappointed with this one.

  • Below Average

by DK on 2023-11-25WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 1 out of 5

I’m not sure if I just didn’t do my research, however this seemed to be directed more to children. The stage was set up for viewing from the front only. The props were average. The acting was pare. Left early as was not entertaining.

  • Enjoyable with children

by Fragalocious on 2023-11-25WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 3 out of 5

Performance and performers were incredible, however I didn’t realize the show was more tailored for children. No disrespect to the talent who did an amazing job, just not really for adults without children.

  • Not what I expected

by Calgarian on 2023-11-25WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 3 out of 5

I was expecting more Christmas music with acrobatic performances, not a story of saving Christmas. I thought that the performance was not up to par for Cirque, very amateurish and for the cost it should be improved. The performers showed enthusiasm which helped get the audience going.

  • Fun, seats disappointing

by MLJ on 2023-11-25WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

The show itself was good. My daughter loved it which is all that matters. However, I had called the Event Centre prior to purchasing tickets as I was debating floor seats or Sec N (side but still close) I was concerned my young daughter wouldn’t be able to see being on the floor with people sitting in front. Both areas were the same price and the highest price of ticket. The lady I talked to said both have a great view but side is probably better for young kids to see. So side is what I bought. Well, don’t make that mistake. The stage is set up with a big screen, with risers and a wintery set in front of screen. From our seats we could not see any of it. Drapery was hanging covering staging areas, the huge wooden set was covering the screen from our angle, acts that were happening in front of the screen could not be seen. For the tickets being the same price as front floor seats I was VERY disappointed and a bit mad actually. People sitting at the complete other end of the stadium in the cheapest priced seats but straight on, would have had a better view of most of the show. Story line a bit hokey, even my 8 year old daughter commented on the story being weird. Otherwise the show itself had great talent.

  • Disappointed

by Jc on 2023-11-25WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 2 out of 5

The circus acts were ok, although not as polished as I expected. The play and the signing were not good and took away from the experience. It was not what I hoped it would be. I’m sure they worked hard and I appreciate their effort, but I would not have paid regular price for my tickets if I k we it was more like a high school play and amateur circus

  • Quite good for a smaller production

by Tyler P on 2023-11-25WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

While it was a bit more targeted at the family audience my staff all enjoyed it as our corporate Christmas event. It’s a 1-day event that moves frequently so we weren’t expecting the same production value you’d find at a permanent cirque du soleil event in Vegas or even one of the travelling Soleil events that set up for months at a time. That said the cast was small but incredibly impressive. Would definitely go again. The only issue is Ticketmaster. But that’s just the price we pay at any live event now it seems.

  • Enjoyable

by DAT on 2023-11-25WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

We enjoyed the acrobatic activity very much. The princess talking, not so much. Overall it was ver entertaining

  • Not for us

by Hilz on 2023-11-25WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 2 out of 5

Although it was a cute story, we thought it was bigger and better but it was small and juvenile. Great for kids but not me. We left 20 min into it. A better description of the event that was made for children not adults. Would have been good. Way overpriced for what it was. Small stage. Novice acting

  • Uncomfortable venue

by BillyT on 2023-11-25WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 1 out of 5

Seating at WinSport very uncomfortable. Seat backs are straight up causing backache. This distracted from the show.

  • Not a true Cirque performance

by Twinkle on 2023-11-25WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 2 out of 5

Not great. We were bored at many parts. Low production value.

  • Wonderful show for family and kids

by Kenora on 2023-11-20Thunder Bay Community Auditorium - Thunder BayRating: 5 out of 5

Took my 6 year old daughter to the Cirque holiday musical show. We both had a blast and she was talking about it for days after. Would recommend this to other families

  • Obviously not the A team from Cirque

by JJT on 2023-11-19Thunder Bay Community Auditorium - Thunder BayRating: 3 out of 5

Amateurish dialog, poor set designs. Lead singer voice was a shrill, not a tone. Hard to hear dialoque at time. The Elfs dialoque was impossible to understand.

  • Great show

by Fun on 2023-11-19Thunder Bay Community Auditorium - Thunder BayRating: 4 out of 5

The show was wonderful. The only thing I had a hard time with was the sound which was really was very loud. Other than that I really enjoyed the show.

  • It was ok

by Kat on 2023-11-19Thunder Bay Community Auditorium - Thunder BayRating: 3 out of 5

It was ok. The music was way too loud and as well as the main characters mic was turned up too much. The acrobatic acts were very good and well put together. The storyline for the show was ok. There were some funny moments but overall I thought it was going to be different than what the show was. The tickets I think were too expensive as well for that show when you add in all the extras fees that are added in.

  • More Circus than Cirque

by CAT on 2023-11-19Thunder Bay Community Auditorium - Thunder BayRating: 2 out of 5

As mentioned more 3 Ring Circus Quality and singing High School Musical "ish".

  • Was underwhelming at best

by Meh on 2023-11-19Thunder Bay Community Auditorium - Thunder BayRating: 2 out of 5

The opening number was akin to a grade 8 Xmas show. The individual talent was good, however the main character’s voice irritated me. Her mic settings may also not have helped. Certainly not worth the price paid for tickets.
