About

Coast City Country is a Canadian country music festival in Vancouver, British Columbia that launched in 2024. The inaugural lineup featured headliners Luke Bryan, Nickelback and Dierks Bentley as well as rising country music stars such as Bailey Zimmerman, Brett Young, Walker Hayes and Elle King. The two-day main event was held on April 19 and 20 at Vancouver’s downtown multi-purpose stadium BC Place on the north side of False Creek. Along with an on-site craft beer and whiskey festival, outdoor BBQ smokehouse and parties and installations throughout Vancouver over the weekend, Coast City Country was complemented by late-night programming at the historic Commodore Ballroom between April 18 and 20 with performances by Kameron Marlowe, Travis Denning, The War and Treaty and more.

    Pretty Good Experience

by BeePee on 2024-04-23BC Place - Vancouver

The festival itself and the short waits between artists was perfect. Things that could be improved on were the numerous people vaping inside the building, even when sitting next to children etc. I tried to bring in an empty water bottle, which has been allowed in the past, and the rude attendant told me no. Later, I saw someone inside with the exact same water bottle? For in and out bands, it would be better if you put them on people as they were coming into the building rather than having a huge lineup as people try to leave and come back. Also, people were sitting wherever they wanted rather than their assigned seating. This wasn't the end of the world, but we had good seats and we didn't want to get up and walk around or get food because we were afraid that someone would take our seats and we would have to ask them to move upon return. Also, it would have been nice to have a merchandise spot on the upper levels rather than all being on the lower levels. Lastly, we didn't have to show our tickets to get into the outdoor part, so did people actually have tickets to this or was it not technically part of the festival as anyone could have been searched and come in....

I thought it was well run

by Delta D on 2024-04-23BC Place - Vancouver

I dont feel there is a way to improve, the festival itself was an amazing experience, it was the first concert/festival my daughter has gone to and she loved it. I would love to see the festival come back again. I would definitely attend.

    Must Go

by Scottaroo on 2024-04-23BC Place - Vancouver

Great vibes, great outdoor areas with cool intresting and fun stands, concert was good, but headliners were amazing and the energy was awesome. What could make it better would be a outdoor BBQ Smoker with authentic BBQ.

    Improve

by Dave on 2024-04-23BC Place - Vancouver

I didn’t like that if I wanted food I had to stand in line for 15-20 mins and then get into a different line for same time for alcohol. And the first night I was able to drink from my cans of beer on the floor and the second night I was forced to put my drinks into those aluminum cups which made the beer go flat immediately. Different rules different days. Please stay consistent next time

    Good not great

by Adam on 2024-04-23BC Place - Vancouver

Good value to see all these artists. Some over delivered (Amazing performances from Dalton Dover, Nate Smith, Zimmerman and Dirks B) while some other select artists were underwhelming. The outside stage felt much more lively and the process of going in and out from the main stage at BC Place didn’t feel social or seamless but instead tedious and taxing. Overall, perhaps not the best venue for this as even with so many people when half full, the stadium largely felt empty and dull for all the earlier artists while even though it had much less people, the outside stage was always energetic (aside from later DJs).

    Awesome!!

by canshaw on 2024-04-23BC Place - Vancouver

The choice of entertainers was awesome!! There was just the right amount of singers. The sound could’ve been better but I’ve been told that’s just BC Place. The drinks were quite expensive!!! Security was very good!! Quick communication from information! Some rules seemed a little ridiculous, but with communication, an exception was made. Such a great festival!!

    Amazing

by Ally on 2024-04-23BC Place - Vancouver

My daughter and I had the best time this past weekend. The acts were amazing, the army was amazing. We really hope this happens again next year.

    Almost there

by Charlie on 2024-04-23BC Place - Vancouver

The venue was sparsely attended for the majority of both days. Not sure if it was because of happy hour outside. Friday it continued through out the night but Saturday more came in for Dierks and Luke The place was also very cold Saturday night and too much time between the acts In 2018 Luke Bryan headlined a show there and it was much better run. Maybe more research should be done on how these shows are put on in the states

    Needs some tweaking

by Nicki on 2024-04-23BC Place - Vancouver

I loved coast country, a few things need to be tweaked for sure like the two stages.. people who paid full price only to find out that the second stage was free was a bit maddening. I really hope we see a year two.

    Well done!

by Shyla on 2024-04-23BC Place - Vancouver

For the very first Coast City Country Festival hosted, I think it went very well and seemed to be organized. The artists were on time and all put on a great show. Well done! The only complaint I have is the discrepancy between the BC Place website and the security gates. I brought my metal water bottle(non glass and under 1 litre as stated on the website) and they made me check it at coat check(at no cost). Security told me they changed the rule that day for the festival. A small inconvenience, but still annoying when you’re trying to follow the rules.

    10/10 Weekend

by MD on 2024-04-23BC Place - Vancouver

We attended both days of the festival and had a blast. The artist line up was excellent and everyone around us was having a great time. Loved the addition of the outside set up, it is shame it was not nicer on the Saturday. We will attend again if this tour comes to Vancouver.

    4.5

by Nat on 2024-04-23BC Place - Vancouver

The experience was great. The outside set up was fun and I didn’t have to wait too long in any of the lines. I appreciate the drink pricing at $10. Artists were on time too! My half a star off is because I ran into a friend in the same section as me with better seats than me who paid a quarter of the price. Super lame. The people who buy tickets upfront shouldn’t suffer because they know how to make a plan.

by Jo on 2024-04-23BC Place - Vancouver

    Overall great performance

by CountryS on 2024-04-23BC Place - Vancouver

The overall concert experience was great, everything was precisely on time, which made it easy to arrange the drive home afterwards. if anything, the music was way louder than the lead singer for almost every set and they could have benefited from more alternate vendors. the couple drink vendors they had were okay but kinda off brand clearly cheaper beer selection and the food was your basic arena food. my advise, don’t get the mac and cheese if you have this great idea in your head as to how it’ll taste because you will be thoroughly disappointed. the artists were amazing and very well thought out, it was quite obvious who the headliners were as they were the only ones who had “everyone” up outta their seats

    Some improvements needed

by May on 2024-04-23BC Place - Vancouver

Not a bad first attempt for a music festival in the city. Pros:Great music acts especially Saturday Cons: really poor audio on Friday, base and drums overpowered vocals making it almost indistinguishable. Logistics of getting to and from the indoor and outdoor stages. Took a lot of time and with acts overlapping it was hard to get there in-time. Would be better if whole event zone including both stages was inside the security area so that you could quickly go from one stage to the other. Greatly appreciate this even and look forward to improvements next time!

    Wasn’t That a Party!!!

by Patti on 2024-04-23BC Place - Vancouver

We had the best time! ALL the performers were amazing, the sound system was spot on, the vibe was friendly and fun. We were the token ‘old folks’ and the young folk embraced us and made us feel like kids again. It couldn’t have been a better weekend!

    Was the most fun weekend

by Maple on 2024-04-23BC Place - Vancouver

I absolutely loved it, I loved having the ability to see so many amazing artists for much cheaper than average (I had the $100 two day pass). I was by myself and am introverted, but I wasn't gonna let myself miss out on this and I'm so glad I didn't. Little sad there wasn't much Coast City Country Merch to buy by the end of Fri and none for Sat. I think some should have been held in reserve as there were people who were only going Sat. Can't wait for the next one!!!

    Great 2 days!

by Kay on 2024-04-23BC Place - Vancouver

Me and my group had a BLAST!!! The vibes were amazing, the crowd was amazing, and the artists killed it!!! My only 3 not so great comments are the security was beyond rude, pushy, and just OVER asserting there authority. It was not pleasant at all. It kind of ruined our experience at the end of day 2 Also the price of drinks my goodness it was OUTRAGEOUS! Please do better next time. My last comment is about having the outside stage soooooo far from the indoor stage; it made it really hard having to run back and forth to see our fav artists. ALSO the fact that you didnt have to pay for the outdoor stage was NOT fair to paying ticket holders, so that needs to change. Overall It was a BLAST & me and my group will 100% be attending again!
