I last Colin at the Burnaby Summer Blues Festival over 20 years ago. I'm glad I finally saw him again at the Queen E. Fantastic show!@ He played all of his major hits. A solid two hours of music. I hope he comes back soon.
First part was unfortunatly not fun: sound was awful and couldn't hear a word of the signer and sound engineer should have done better. 2nd part had 35 minutes delay. Colin James was awesome, like usual, but 2 times, sound good have been better. Maybe because of MTelus Theatre the way it's made. Didn't have space enough between seat. Colin James should have deserved a larger and bigger stage, although he is doing a great show. Gave 4 stars because of the sound and lack of space. Just to say that we had to leave before the end because some ''genius'' closed the entry of the Place-des-Arts Metro.. so all Jazz Festival people had to walk 15 minutes at least before getting into the metro.. We almost missed the last one. Not super idea when you have tourist, and people paying for a show that are not even sure to be able to get the public transport.
As usual, Colin James gave a great show and having Steve Marriner in the band was a great bonus. However, when upgrading to a loge, drink services should be provided. The general admission seats received this service but I had to walk to the bar to get drinks, despite a 100% upgrade cost to a loge.
Loved it Colin was in top shape, the song choices Were great, played a lot of them Energitic, just a really great show 🎸🎶🎸⚡️
The show was fantastic. Collin James' voice is pristine. He entertained us from beginning to end. Terrific show!!!
It was truly awesome! Colin is a great guitarist and absolutely amazing singer! His musicians are amazing too! We just loved our evening swinging to the rythme! Thank you Colin James
Would have loved to see him, wife was not feeling well..so we missed the show. The extra insurance I took is garbage, complete waste of money. Read the fine print before taking insurance.
The sound for the opening act drowned out the singers voices. This was not so much a problem for Colin's set. MTELUS packs people WAY TOO TIGHT at the balcony and those bar stools aren't great for two hours.
Colin puts so much energy into his performances every time and he has lots! I first saw him blow up the room at the Back Alley in Calgary along with Alannis Morisette…one of the best shows and music I have ever witnessed. Looking forward to seeing him at the Port theatre in Nanaimo next year🎉🎉👍
Amazing to see live music again and Festival Place in Sherwood Park is a great venue. The Colin James Trio did not disappoint... the Crowd was having as much fun as the Band was. Such a talented group of musicians.
Colin James is a Canadian gem, always an amazing musical experience. If you love Blues, right up your alley- and if not, still an incredible show. He performed with two VERY talented sidemen, as a trio, and the musicianship was outstanding. I am not sure why no drummer and the use of synced rhythm- but the crowd all tapped and sang along. Festival Place remains a great setting, intimate, acoustically comparable, with a touch of home-town class. Great concert!
When Colin does the trio shows you know you’re in for a good show. Saw him a few years back in Fort McMurray with Chris Caddell, another AWESOME show. Hey Colin you said you were coming back up here, me and the wife are still waiting! :)
Festival Place is a great place for a concert. It felt like Colin James was sitting in my living room playing his music. Everything was excellent.
We were waiting two years for this concert so it was well worth the wait...And it was rescheduled on my birthday! How perfect was that! His voice was better than ever and I thought the trio was cozy and intimate. Colin James got the audience involved in the show while telling stories about the history of creating his music. I got his newest album, Open Road, at the show which completes my collection. I have all of his albums and have seen him over a dozen times in the last 22 years and he is always fantastic.
Colin James never disappoints! Another intimate performance! Such talent! Wonderful night of his music & songs, with his two amazingly talented companions. We waited 2 yrs to see him due to pandemic It was a wonderful night!
Colin James sounds as good as he did when he started many years ago, and plays a guitar with god given talent. An amazing performance by a stripped down 3 man band. Go see him!! Exactly what we next post covid…..5 Star! And Festival Place was a perfect venue!
He is such a talented guitarist. He sang some of his older hits and some of his new releases. Loved it would love to see him again. 🎶
It was really great to see Colin James. Nice to get out to see a live show again. The only negative is the performance was very short (just over an hour).
Minor screw up with the seating ,we had printed tickets mailed to us and found another couple in what we thought were are seats but they had internet tickets on their cell with the exact same row and seat numbers . We were not the only ones with double booked seats . Clarke theater ushers were great in sorting out the seating problems Everyone got seated in time to watch the show.
Everything about the show was great! First concert in 2 years and don't feel we could have chosen better. (Though we didnt have a clue when we bought the tickets 2 years ago.) The intimate space, the clear sound, the quality performets and second row seating put us over the moon. I feel the show would have run longer in the before times, but we were happy with the compromise. I hope Colin and clan have much success as they carry on-its got to be a tough go getting back into the swing after everything.
