Collective Soul rose to prominence in the mid-’90s with 1993’s Hints Allegations and Things Left Unsaid. The album featured the hit single “Shine” and took Collective Soul from college radio to heavy rotation on MTV. By the end of 1995, the band (led by singer-songwriter Ed Roland) had toured with Aerosmith and Van Halen and performed “Shine” in front of thousands of fans at Woodstock ‘94. Their triple-platinum follow-up, Collective Soul (1995), included "December," "The World I Know" and "Where the River Flows," all No. 1 songs on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. Collective Soul would continue achieving career milestones well into the 2000s and 2010s, including a duet with Elton John (“Perfect Day”) and nine additional studio albums.

A night of fellowship and worship, rocking out to our favorite songs. They sounded great, as always!
Phenomenal show! Collective Soul rocked the house and the opening band Jade Elephant was great! Venue is really nice and staff were super friendly and helpful. One minor drawback, I purchased a Silver VIP package and there was some confusion on entry and where to pick up the merch package which also could have been a bit better. However, the seat and show certainly made up for this.
The music was awesome, the band sounded great and singing was fantastic. The venue isn't my favorite. Because it is on the reservation there is smoking allowed in the attached casino and the place was full of smoke. The chairs were also uncomfortably close together. It would be nice if they spaced the chairs a little bit. We love to see these guys in a different venue.
Collective Soul is an incredible band and performed their very best. Loved the show. What we didn't appreciate was the really bad smoky air that greeted us upon entering the Grey Eagle Event Centre. Sadly, this venue shares the same building as the Grey Eagle Casino, where smoking is allowed. A thick haze of tobacco smoke from the casino fills the hallways and even seeps into the event centre concert venue. While the air quality seemed to be at least a little bit better than a previous concert I attended at the Grey Eagle approximately a month ago, I still don't understand why the Grey Eagle casino cannot do a better job of containing the awful cigarette smoke to just the casino? PROMOTERS - Please stop using the Grey Eagle for concerts like this until they clean their air for concert attendees. A show like this would have been a MUCH better experience at a place like the Jubilee Auditorium at SAIT.
Crowd was very engaged, we hardly sat all night, everyone standing and dancing! Venue was great!
Every time we go to see Collective Soul, they somehow manage to get better and better! I have seen these guys 7 times since the 90’s and they continue to leave me jaw dropped after every live performance! They’re absolutely incredible with their engagement with the crowd and playing hits both new and old to keep us thoroughly entertained! One of my top 5 favourites and I’ll continue to see them every time they are in YYC!🤘🏽
Ed……doesn’t look healthy. Still has the voice ! Band good. Somehow I liked August 2023 concert better.
I have always loved Collective’s Soul’s music. I love the lyrics, the singing and the fabulous backup of guitarists! Jesse, the lead guitarist is sooo good … I LOVED all the musicians and will likely see them again in Feb. when they come back to Calgary! Fabulous concert!
Collective Soul can still perform like nothing else. Very good show! Highly recommend seeing them.
I've seen Collective Soul quite a few times over the years and they always deliver. The Grey Eagle is a fantastic concert venue as well! Great experience!
🗣️Had a great show in Calgary with Collective Soul. Definitely a winner! Such a great band!
What a great show. They rocked and played all their hits. The way they ended the show could possibly be one of the best exits I've seen. Good job and round of applause to them and their whole crew
Man, that was an amazing performance! I hope they come back soon. I should've bought 2 tickets to see them twice. Showmanship is at god tier.
WHAT A SHOW! One of my favorite bands of the 90's. Incredible show at an incredible venue. And the opening act Storie is now one of my favorite albums!
From the opening act Storie to final curtain call, big star energy, Collective Soul showed up ready and willing to party, fantastic show
It was a good concert but could have been better. Tickets stated the concert would start at 7pm...so we arrived on time and waited and waited and waited. No seats so you are literally standing in one spot for hours. Turned out there was a back-up band and then another wait. Bottomline, when you have to stand in one spot, staring at the stage of "nothing"....it is a drag. Whey not tell everyone what is happening.....that there is a back-up band and that the band of choice - Collective Soul won't be on stage until 9 pm or ? You want to pump people up before the concert.....and not....drag them down!
Collective Soul never disappoints live , they are a must see band.
Collective Soul really get the crowd into it! Had an awesome night!
You can tell Collective Soul love playing together. The camaraderie was obvious. They’re all superb musicians in their own right which was evident as they didn’t miss a beat. Ed Roland’s voice is still there. It’s raspy but is very recognizable and I thought it was edgier, which I loved. Storie were also fabulous musicians. The lead singer’s voice is outstanding and the percussionist is a master of his trade. It was amazing how much they put out given they’re a three piece band. I couldn’t understand a word the lead singer was saying when he spoke!! Haha The food was phenomenal!! I reluctantly ordered the chicken burger because the item I wanted wasn’t available but it was absolutely delicious. The only negative comment I have is how quickly the venue shut down. The lights came on immediately after CS were done and it felt like we had to get the hell out of there. Now! We felt rushed with no time to wind down and enjoy our last drink. It was lights on and that was it. Overall, it was an awesome experience. Well done to both bands, the venue, our server, the chef and roadies. They work harder than most!!
