About

Collective Soul rose to prominence in the mid-’90s with 1993’s Hints Allegations and Things Left Unsaid. The album featured the hit single “Shine” and took Collective Soul from college radio to heavy rotation on MTV. By the end of 1995, the band (led by singer-songwriter Ed Roland) had toured with Aerosmith and Van Halen and performed “Shine” in front of thousands of fans at Woodstock ‘94. Their triple-platinum follow-up, Collective Soul (1995), included "December," "The World I Know" and "Where the River Flows," all No. 1 songs on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. Collective Soul would continue achieving career milestones well into the 2000s and 2010s, including a duet with Elton John (“Perfect Day”) and nine additional studio albums.

AMAZING Collective Soul is HOT !

by jupi on 2009-10-10The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

The Concert was amazing . They came out about 9 played solid for a 1 1/2hrs . All the Songs they played had the Crowd just a movin. The New Drummer Cheney is Hot. He can play those drums without even looking. Ed ,Dean,Will ,Cheney are a Wonderful Concert to Go See! This was maybe my Second time seeing them and they always leave you wanting more! Last Concert Ryan was the Drummer Very Good as well. If You missed this Concert make sure you see them next time in town. You won't be disappointed.

    Collective Soul Rocks

by Richie on 2009-08-26Cowbays - Calgary

Collective Soul is the best live band I have seen in years. They have so many hits and the new music from the Rabbit record is awesome. Go see these guys, they are only getting better with age. Ed Rolands voice is still strong and in Interacts with the crowd. You can tell they love whet they are doing. Well done Collective Soul. Don't stop touring. Rock it up with Collective Soul!!!

    Collective Soul was UNBELIEVABLE!

by Stevey on 2009-08-12Emerald Theatre - Mt. Clemens

They came out around 10:10 and played for an hour and a half! They love and appreciate their audience and it really shows. The audience was involved with several songs which made it even that much better. I saw them in Indianapolis a few years ago and they only keep getting better! I would see them again in a heartbeat!!

    Good Show

by Wylcanada on 2009-08-04Cowboys (Calgary) - Calgary

The show was good, but I wish it was at a larger venue. I know Collective Soul has a much bigger following but the venue probably kept people away. I am not a real club person and it would be nice to know when the show is supposed to begin. Cowboys wants to earn money through drink sales so they were within their rights to wait until late to begin the show. I would go again but next time I would just show up at 10 pm not 7.

by shirely on 2009-07-25Cowboys (Calgary) - Calgary

collective soul always puts on a great set, though i wish the other guys in the band rocked out just as hard as the lead singer Ed. the shows credits go to Ed, i mean the other guys play the tunes perfectly but Ed owned the stage.. if you have not seen them live before... YOU HAVE TO CHECK THEM OUT !

    Collective Soul was awesome

    by Davey09 on 2009-07-24Cowboys (Calgary) - Calgary

Show was awesome, except that the doors upened at 7pm, and the opening band didn't come on until 9:30 or something crazy, and then collective sould at 10:30pm. That's what you get for seeing a band in a bar though vs. a concert venue I guess. Collective Soul when they came on was amazing and worth waiting for, but would much prefer a regular concert venue for next time like the Jubilee, etc.

    Collective Soul rocked my soul!

by SoulGirl on 2009-07-24Cowboys (Calgary) - Calgary

Collective Soul never disappoints. They're one of those bands that really know how to connect to their audience. Ed Roland had everyone singing and clapping to an amazing line-up of hits. We were also treated to a few soon-to-be released (soon-to-be hit) songs. The energy of these guys is amazing --Ed must have burned more than 1000 calories busting moves on stage. These guys love what they do and that translates into great tunes and an awesome night for all.

Collective Soul at Cowboys - a tight performance!

    by Angel61 on 2009-07-24Cowboys (Calgary) - Calgary

Collective Soul pulled off a tight and polished performance while appearing relaxed and comfortable onstage. They connected to the audience in a very personal way, taking time to share high-fives with people standing near the stage and giving away set lists, drum sticks and guitar picks after the performance. Their reportoire of songs covered all of their hits and their energy was infectious, with the audience dancing and singing throughout the entire show. I LOVE THIS BAND and would see them again, anywhere, anytime!

If only we were taller... UNBELIEVABLE!

by SwitchItOn on 2009-07-18House of Blues Orlando - Orlando

This show was a spontaneous event during our recent vacation. We'd never been to the House of Blues before and didn't know the layout of the place, so we ended up close to the stage on the upper level (looking down from a sharp side angle), meaning the view was close-up but not good. People in front of us (in the VIP area) looked like they didn't care about what was going on onstage and just wanted to drink, but they wouldn't sit down. Even though we couldn't see much because of those things, all three bands put on one heck of a show. WOW. When Gavin did a bit of "If You Want Me to Stay", I thought I was going to keel over. Then, Collective Soul brought the house down, playing almost all of their major hits (Precious Declaration noticeably skipped - lots of people were disappointed). Clearly a seasoned act, this band worked the audience at every chance and what started out as a calm, mature crowd ended up being a bouncing mass of heads and fist-pumps. AWESOME. Those guys know what they're doing - end of story.
