  • Dummies were great!!

by Bigtuna on 2010-10-11Burton Cummings Theatre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was fantastic from beginning to end. The acoustics in the Burt were awesome. A great mix of older and newer material. Both Brad and Ellen's voices were unbelievable. It' s too bad the venue is in such disrepair . Come on Winnipeg , let's fix up the joint into something we can be proud of! Murray Pulver was incredible!

  • Crash Test at their best

Best concert in a long time. Ellen, Mark and Brad in the raw. Perfect venue and appreciative crowd made it a great night.

This was my first time at this theatre and it was wonderful! The Dummies were absolutely amazing! Couldn't have been more intimate or better!

  • Crash Test Dummies was fabulous

Brad Roberts was amazing and that includes Ellen too. Brad's sense of humour and of course his voice was unbelievable. We now own the CD and have listened to it over and over. Job well done! We laughed and just had a wonderful time at the show. Thank you for coming to Vancouver.

  • A little burnt around the edges

    by Bigscreen11 on 2010-10-08Myer Horowitz Theatre - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

It was an amazing intimite concert experience. Just then doing what they do best. No fancy stage or lighting. Not even a drummer. One guitar and three microphones. He was a little stoned I think and forgot the words to the songs at a couple of spots but Brad Roberts on stage performance was great and funny. I was a very entertaining evening. They had a great sense of humor and are totally under standing of where they are as a band right now. Loved every moment.

Quite a nice show. Hilarious and a bit nostalgic at the same time.

  • The Crash Test Dummies were amazing!!!

    by Isaakfan14yrs on 2010-10-08Myer Horowitz Theatre - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

They sang all my favorites and some new ones too. Ellen Reid has such a beautiful voice which she got to show off on a few solos. Murray Pulver filled the room with his amazing guitar work to which the Brad Roberts sang in that fantastic bass-baritone voice of his. WOW. It was just the three of them with nothing but Murray's accoustic guitar and they were awesome. Who knew that was all you really needed to knock the socks off the audience to a standing ovation at the end.

  • Crash Test Dummies are no dummies!

by Redder on 2010-10-08Myer Horowitz Theatre - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Brad Roberts is quite a talented writer and is also VERY funny. He and Ellen still have serious chops showing great range. This was a very enjoyable show.

  • Smart night with the Dummies

by MobileAlgae on 2010-10-08Myer Horowitz Theatre - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

It was a fun night. I would have preferred a full band, as opposed to the single acoustic guitar but the quality of the guitarist, who was excellent, and the strength of the vocals made it sound like a full production. Great mix of old hits and new songs. Brad is very funny.

by Stob on 2010-10-08Myer Horowitz Theatre - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

A must see for those who remember blasting their songs in the '90s while trying their damndest to sing even half the baritone notes of Brad Roberts. Great sound, hilarious interim jokes, comfortable relaxed atmosphere. Three thumbs up!

  • Crash Test .. Money Well Spent

by LilBucaroo on 2010-10-08Myer Horowitz Theatre - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed the show. The opening act definately fit the mood ... good match. At first we were a little disappointed to see such a bare stage but both of us can fully appreciate the difference in this type of performance versus having the full band behind you to lighten the load. No band required ... the guitarist was fantastc as were the distinct vocals! The performance moved along with laughter, memorable tunes, and a tasty sample of what's to come. Looking forward to the recording.

  • Chan Centre has great acoustics

by PieGuy on 2010-10-05Chan Centre For The Performing Arts - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

At first the guitar was a little loud and Brad Roberts soft. It soon evened out. Murray Pulver the C & W guitarist of the year and album producer was awesome. He worked to showcase Brad and Ellen's vocals and did so beautifully. It was a real treat.

  • An Unforgetable Evening with the Dummies

by Festwell on 2010-10-04Chan Centre For The Performing Arts - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

A completely wonderful show in the company of the dashing and talented Brad Roberts, the theatrical and often comical Ellen Reid, and the incredibly hot Stuart Cameron. This very intimate musical experience was shear pleasure.

  • CTD were forgettable

by mermaiden on 2010-10-04Chan Centre For The Performing Arts - VancouverRating: 1 out of 5

Hugely disappointing - everything was wrong except for the fact that there were 2 beautiful voices and an amazing acoustic guitarist on stage..... the guitarist did his best to keep things together, brilliant performance. Brad - how do I say this? - missed lyrics, mixed up songs, made bad jokes, repeated the bad jokes, inside jokes, disrespectful of the audience, timing off - butchered the old favorites, missed cues.... nothing to praise but a voice that is being wasted. Ellen has a beautiful voice but got sucked into Brad's mess and couldn't do it alone so joined him in not demanding more from him - someone needed to take charge! Hey guys - we are your fans, want to pay your bills... show some appreciation, take us seriously, come on stage as if it's the first time everytime....

The show was quite good, though to be honest I think I was expecting a bit more. The Crash Test Dummies were onstage for an hour and a half, and played with only the lead singer and backup and one person playing acoustic guitar, which was fine, just not what I thought I was going to be seeing. I had sort of thought the songs played would be accompanied by the full band and sound more like they do on the records. Oh well. Still definitely worth going to see and a good show.
