About

PRISM IN CONCERT:

Canadian band Prism continue to rock the Great White North with their anthemic tunes and electrifying performances. The group rose to prominence with a string of '70s hits that sound as fresh as ever at their nostalgic live shows, where fans raise lighters to the sky as guitar solos fill the air. Whether they're "Flyin'" or giving fans a "Night to Remember," these veteran rockers never fail to have fans dancing in the aisles on their electrifying tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Prism formed in Vancouver in 1977, releasing their self-titled debut album that same year to considerable critical and commercial success. In 1979 the group scored another commercial success with their third album Armageddon, which went double platinum and garnered them Group of the Year at the 1981 Juno Awards. A string of successful albums followed during the decade, spawning hits like "Young and Restless", "Turn on Your Radar", and their first US Top 40 hit "Don't Let Him Know". Despite lineup changes over the years, the group has retained their distinct rock sound, continuing to release material throughout the '90s and thrilling fans in 2008 with the album Big Black Sky -- their first in more than a decade. Prism continue to treat rock fans with career-spanning sets on their unforgettable tours.

  • Great job by the band

The band sounded great, sounded just like the CD!! However at this venue never ever ever get seats near the floor. You buy great seats only to have people come up on the dance floor and COMPLETELY block your view.

  • They Don't Disappoint

The Prism show was awesome, from the back up band to the main show. Started at 8 with a backup band called Oddebles. There a cover band that covers different genres and singing that is excellent. Prism took the stage around 9:15 and played all the hits. When it came to the end of the show saving the biggest hits for last, they really didn't have much left in the tank only playing 1 song. I've wanted to see them for the longest time, I'm only sorry I waited this long.

Been a Prism fan since their inception. They are still one of the best bands ever.

  • Súper loud

Sorry, we wanted to love it but it was so incredibly loud and distorted that it wasn't enjoyable really.

  • Hearing protection!

I have been to close 50 concerts at this venue ( Great Canadian Casino Show Theatre ) and never has the sound been so bad. Prism is a decent band with pretty good material but this show was almost unbearable. The sound was too loud and quite frankly it hurt my 60 year old ears with its grating , distorted blaring. The sound engineer needs to be replaced or told there is no 11 anywhere at any time. This was also the first concert there that my wife and I left early , and we weren't the only ones. Very disappointing!

  • A bit better mixing and volume control would have helped...

by KM on 2024-05-06Great Canadian Casino Vancouver - CoquitlamRating: 3 out of 5

Al still has the pipes for the most part, but he could have used some stronger back up vocals. Stage presence was ruined by the twit from the audience who seems to think we all want to see him dance around miming and air guitaring like an idiot.

  • Prism Delight!

by Dale on 2024-05-06Great Canadian Casino Vancouver - CoquitlamRating: 5 out of 5

Great Canadian Casino - Coquitlam is a wonderful venue with a great stage, sound, seating and sight lines. The PRISM show was spectacular! High energy performance from the band and lots of wonderful memories of their hit songs. Couldn’t ask for anything more! 🎶❤️

  • Prism

An attendee felt that he should get up in front of the band and pretend that he was actually playing the music. Security should had him removed as it was very distracting. The band was good give their ages.

Performance was awesome, mixer needs to remember they're mixing sound for a small venue, not Rogers Arena.
