I wanted to see a Cirque du Soleil show when I went to Las Vegas, as I had seen one a few years before, and remember the human feats that they did were incredible, and I thought it would be even neater with some magic thrown in.
Well, it was a disappointment.
First of all, it is not your typical Cirque show, there are NO (bar one small event ~2 mins), acrobatics or human feats, only DANCING!
Second, the magic was terrible, Criss Angel should not call himself a real Magician, the tricks were terrible. There was one where he was "Cut in half", just after he was cut in half, and seperated, he noticed that a piece of the prop was not quite where he wanted it to be (no one would have noticed), so he decided to move it, in turn this lifted the panel that he was hiding under! Not very professional. Also, all of the magic tricks were staged to be very "dramatic", but they were just too over the top, and not "believable".
Third, it seemed like he was just using the show to promote his TV show, with many times throughout the show talking about his show, and saying "watch my show". Also, for a good 10 mins, he showed clips of his show on a projector, if I wanted to see his tv show, I would have just stayed at home.
I was so disappointed from this show, that I had to make up for it by going to a 'normal' Cirque show the next night (Mystere at "Treasure Island"). That one was spectacular and would definitely recommend it!
