Criss Angel will make you want a refund

by TimeWasted on 2009-11-23Luxor Hotel and Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

I'm a fan of his show on A&E but his Vegas show is not for fans of his TV show - there are very few illusions/magic tricks and it is mostly a Cirqu du Soleil pantomime, it's not entertaining in any way shape or form. There were six of us that went and each of us absolutely hated the show, it's a complete waste of time and money. It's suprising that word of mouth has not shut this show down yet.

    Don't Waste Your Money

by Disappointed9 on 2009-11-08Luxor Hotel and Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

I'm a big Criss Angel fan from his TV show, but this Vegas show left me greatly disappointed. He was certainly having an "off night", and I heard the same thing from other people that saw the show at other times this week which tells me this is not just an isolated incident. Keep watching the TV show. Forget the Vegas show.

    Extremely Disappointed

by DoRonRon on 2009-10-31Luxor Hotel and Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

We've seen 2 Cirq shows live and Criss Angel on TV and were really looking forward to this collaboration. What a disappointment!!! The Cirque was mostly only dancing with Criss dancing with those performers. His magic tricks weren't anything awesome, you could see through most of them (how he was doing them), etc. We really expected the Cirque performance to enhance Criss's magic but there wasn't enough of either and they didn't blend. Save your money and go see another Cirque de Soleil show or Le Rev when you are in Las Vegas.

    I don't BELIEVE the price....

by SmilinVamp on 2009-10-27Luxor Hotel and Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Well, I started out thinking this would be soooo cool to see. But after seeing, I thought, that's it??? Production value was really good I though. Cool stage, cool effects, great costumes and all that. But the show lacked content. The couple of tricks Chris did were - whatever - kind of thing... all really seen before stuff. The show was cool, but I'd say save your money for something more interesting....

I found the show rather short. The audience wanted to have more....No one wanted to leave the theater.

    A bit anticlimactic

by 40can on 2009-10-01Luxor Hotel and Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

We enjoyed the overall performance of the Cirque performers: loved the music the setting/theme. Loved the idea of getting into Chriss' twisted mind through the storytelling of the performance; although the story distracted a bit from what most of the people were there to see: Illusions, illusions, illusions. We felt that we were still waiting to see a bit more of a 'magic' show if you want to call it that. Chriss has much potential to be a "lasting" performer. I think he may need to tone down his need to freak us out and to show us the magician/illusionist that we all love.

    Disappointing

by st1234 on 2009-10-01Luxor Hotel and Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Criss - you can do better than that. The show was poorly written and the story line cheezy. Criss had a videographer on stage at first who gets pissed off at him because he insists she put the camera light on some audience members and she says the camera doesn't have a light and the rest of the show she tries to kill him but in the end he kills her. Then through out this story line he does illusions that for the most part I could figure out. Criss you are such a cool guy, so talented. What are you doing? On the positive side. The theatre decor is very well done.

Can't Believe it's Cirque du Soleil!

by Pusit on 2009-09-30Luxor Hotel and Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Me and my husband came to watch the show with great expectation. I could have chosen different shows of Cirque du Soleil but I convinced my husband. I told him "imagine it's like watching 2 shows for the price of 1, a magic show and a circus show". But to our dismay, first there is nothing so wow on the magic tricks (same old tricks) and I can't believe the show was even called Cirque du Soleil because there is nothing I MEAN NOTHING like any shows of Cirque du Soleil. It's more of like theatrical gone bad! We came out very disappointed and I know a lot of the people who came out of that show with us were not pleased too.

    Criss Angel is Unbelievable

by Coxy on 2009-09-30Luxor Hotel and Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Awesome seats, 3rd row centre. Great Show! Timing is perfect. Music is great. Would like to see more Criss Angel and his illusions. Kinda thought he was late for his show as he didn't have his trademark jewelry and black make-up on, however, he's still 'hot'.

Criss Angel was a huge waste of tine and money.

by Myrna1 on 2009-09-28Luxor Hotel and Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Having seen many shows in Las Veas over the years, and being a huge Chris Angel fan I was looking forward to seeing this show very much. Although he is an extremely personable and likeable performer, this show ranked among the worst that I have seen anywhere. What a disapointment. I would urge you to save your money and just watch t paint dry. I has bout the same entertainment factor, and is much less expensive.

Should have seen another Cirque show!

by WantedToLikeIt on 2009-09-25Luxor Hotel and Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

I wanted to see a Cirque du Soleil show when I went to Las Vegas, as I had seen one a few years before, and remember the human feats that they did were incredible, and I thought it would be even neater with some magic thrown in. Well, it was a disappointment. First of all, it is not your typical Cirque show, there are NO (bar one small event ~2 mins), acrobatics or human feats, only DANCING! Second, the magic was terrible, Criss Angel should not call himself a real Magician, the tricks were terrible. There was one where he was "Cut in half", just after he was cut in half, and seperated, he noticed that a piece of the prop was not quite where he wanted it to be (no one would have noticed), so he decided to move it, in turn this lifted the panel that he was hiding under! Not very professional. Also, all of the magic tricks were staged to be very "dramatic", but they were just too over the top, and not "believable". Third, it seemed like he was just using the show to promote his TV show, with many times throughout the show talking about his show, and saying "watch my show". Also, for a good 10 mins, he showed clips of his show on a projector, if I wanted to see his tv show, I would have just stayed at home. I was so disappointed from this show, that I had to make up for it by going to a 'normal' Cirque show the next night (Mystere at "Treasure Island"). That one was spectacular and would definitely recommend it!

What a waste of time/money we will never get back!

by DisappointedCustomer on 2009-09-21Luxor Hotel and Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

We walked out of the show because it was absolutely boring, cheesy and nowhere near the caliber of a Cirque show. In fact, it shouldn't even be affilliated with Cirque. We heard poor reviews AFTER we had already purchased the tix, but went with very low expectations and an open mind. Couldn't believe it didn't even meet those expectations! Now we know tv editing sure makes a difference. This show doesn't even deserve a 1 star rating, but a star rating was required for this review. Criss Angel is ripping people off.

    Up Close & Personal

by Traceylee on 2009-09-21Luxor Hotel and Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

I really enjoyed "Believe". We got to see Criss Angel right up close. He interacted a lot with the crowd. It was a nice mix between magic, theatre and dance. A real fantasy and look into Criss Angels imaginative dream world!!

    The magic was missing!

by Frankyboy on 2009-09-15Luxor Hotel and Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

I always been a great fan of Cirque du Soleil, interested in magic, i though that this show would blow me away. I use to see most of Cirque du Soleil shows and never had been disapointed but for the first time i can say that this show does not delivers what it could be. In fact, the theater is really nice, the whole set up of this show is what Cirque du Soleil is all about but Mr Criss Angel do not perform as we can expect from him. This show could really be one of the best if the magic was there and Mr Angel do what he can do best. Finally, my week in vegas was not all of the because i saw other Cirque du Soleil shows and those were great performances!

Chris Angle not typical Cirque show

by tapstar on 2009-09-15Luxor Hotel and Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Chris Angel was disappointing, .His magic was unimpressive. I was impressed however with the rest of the cast. They were outstanding.

    Not the best match

by Ginette on 2009-09-14Luxor Hotel and Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

We were told that Chris Angel was not the best show of Cirque du Soleil. Now that we saw it, we are in a position to confirm. The Chris Angel's fans are disappointed because there are not enough magic tricks, and Cirque du Soleil's fans are disappointed as well since they expect more acrobatics. The introduction with the four clowns is way too long, and we did not like the fact that they were present throughout the show. Finally, there were too much talking...

    big disappointment

by riane on 2009-09-09Luxor Hotel and Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

We were extremely disappointed in this show. The cirque de soliel dancers were not in sync, the dancing was less then what you would see on a reality TV show. Criss Angel spent more time talking than performing. When he did perform, it was the very basic of magic...pulling birds out of a hankie and making people disappear and reappear somewhere else. At one point Criss walked down the theatre curtain, however, when he got to the floor, 3 clowns ran over to unhook his harness. There was a lot of time fillers with clowns, who did the same thing over and over again. At one point in time a stuffed rabbit comes on to the stage to talk. i found it boring, childish and the poorest Vegas show ever..in fact the poorest show I've ever had to pay for. Would not recommend to anyone. A lot of hype for absolutely nothing.

    Would rather miss the Criss!

by EnTee on 2009-09-09Luxor Hotel and Casino Las Vegas - Las Vegas

The entire show consisted of no more than 4 mini Criss illusions. As for the remainder of the show, dancers dressed up in not-so-attractive bunny costumes occupied the stage. When it ended, I was certainly not the only person surprised that was disappointed. To put it lightly, folks were quite unsatisfied leaving the show. However, if you are a Criss fan, he did kiss two strangers, so if you want to pay for the chances, I wouldn't blame you.
