His magic wasn't anything spectacular-just simple basic magic. I was expecting more of an acrobatic show from Cirque du Soleil. If I wanted to watch dancing, I would have gone to another production.
Waste of some precious time and money. I wish we would have talked to people before we went to the show. Chris has no stage presence, the tricks were few and he spent very little time on stage. The only effort he really put forth was trying to round up applause. The lack-lusture show only deserved a luke-warm response from the audience, which is what he recieved.
Criss Angel is sooo full of himself!!! It makes me sick!!! You can tell how he did each and every "trick" (if you can even call them that!!) The show is a DISGRACE to Cirque du Soleil, which is extremely entertaining and each and every show is well worth the money (I know, I've seen 7 Cirque shows...) I would not go see this show again even if I was PAID to see it... there are hundreds of better shows on the strip to see... Want a good Cirque show? Go see LOVE at the Mirage... it is worth EVERY PENNY, and then some!!!
I would of like to see more of Criss Angel's amazing tricks and feats and less of the dancing by the Cirque du Soleil dancers.
Well, where start. Coming to Vegas to see Criss Angel was defiantely major hype for me. We were third row center, and to see Criss up close like that was the best part of the show. it was nice to see him up close and to experience him talk and do a few tricks. he interacted well with crowd at beginning and all loved that. Now don't get me wrong, it wasn't overly a bad show. We were just wanting a little more Criss Angel as we see on tv. So, yes I will recommend but do give a heads up to all that it is more show and dance then Criss Angel. As for Criss, keep pluggin away. You are amazing and I hope to see you one day on the Strip when we come back.
If you're a fan of the show mindfreak I think you'll be very disappointed! I really like Chris Angel on t.v. I expected a lot more of his illusions. What we got was alot of the cirque du soleil dancing. It was very limited on his illusions.Although the few stunts he performed were done well i still expected more.No matter where you sit in the theatre you can see the whole stage.
The biggest disappointment and rip-off in Vegas is this lame, train-wreck of a show. I cannot believe Cirque du Soleil is associated with this mess. I've seen every Cirque show in Vegas (and almost all of their other shows as well) and this is the worst show by far. Even as a magic show it is pretty bad. Stay away. Actually run away from this show!
First let me say, that none of us are super big fans of Criss Angel. The row of teenaged girls sitting in front of us clearly were as everytime he appeared on stage, they burst into screams as if he were a top notch boy band. However, I am a big fan of Cirque so I figured there would be something for everyone. I can see how the show is trying to appeal to a broader audience base by having the cirque elements tied in with the Criss Angel elements. I think I would have prefered one or the other over the mixing of the two. We went to the show for my son's 16th birthday. He thinks Criss is cool and wanted to go as a part of his birthday trip. His disappointment came because there wasn't enough magic. He said after the show that he was expecting something miraculous to happen every other minute. He did not appreciate the story telling or the dancing because he was there to see magic. Overall, I think the show is okay but not spectacular. It did not live up to the expectation of either my 16 year old, myself, or my parents.
Well worth the money to go and see. Cirque shows never seem to disapoint. However, I would have thout I would have seen a little bit more of his bizzare illusions - considering his mindfreak show.
Believe is a good show, you see the signiture Chris Angel stuff that can be done on stage. The Cirque du Soliel charactors that came out initially were so, so. You definately have to get your head in to the twisted head space of Chris Angel to appreciate parts of the show, and if you keep that in mind the show is pretty good. I would understand if some people don't like it, but it is all your frame of mind at the outset that will determine your like or dislike for the show. Our cab driver tagged it as the worst show on the strip, which planted a seed before the show even started however, I would not agree with his assessment , it was still pretty good.
We had high expectations of Criss Angel Believe with Cirque Du Soleil in Las Vegas. We are big fans of Cirque and never miss a show when they come to town. So, we thought the combination of Cirque's typical brilliant acrobatic performances and vibrant costumes with Chris Angels sinister style of magic would be a match made in theatrical heaven. However, we left very disappointed and found the whole thing to be an over-marketed underachievement. Although Cirque's costumes were beautiful, there was very little acrobatics. In fact, Angel could have easily replaced the Cirque performers with professional dancers to achieve the same effect, had it not been for Cirque's positive reputation that would draw people in. I know we would not have been attracted to this show with Criss Angel alone. Angel's performance was all glitter but with no substance. The tricks were tired old "ghosts of the past " enhanced with elaborate staging, props and costume design. Although, none of those made an attempt to conceal wires and trap doors. The attempt at some semblance of a story line were week and pretentious. We found ourselves wanting to leave half way through the show, yet we stayed, hoping it would improve as it further progressed. I would recommend side-stepping this show and going to see any other Cirque du Soleil show. You will be enchanted and find their brand of magic far more "Believe- able" sans Criss Angel.
This was more of a musical / dance show. We were so disappointed. I would never recommend this event to anyone. The little 'magic' there was and I use that term very loosely was pathetic. The LIE in BELIEVE should be noted and honoured. Complete waste of time.
This was the phoniest show I have ever seen. Truly a wast of money. It may look believable on TV, but live it was a joke. I just can't say anything good about it, a real disappointment.
Enjoyed the very few illusions performed by Mr. Angel, however not a fan of the cirque de soleil that accompanied him. Show was short and too expensive!! When we took taxi back to hotel, the taxi driver asked us how we enjoyed show. I told him what I've just written here and he said the Believe show has not had very good reviews in Vegas, it actually has had the worse review of all the Vegas shows. Too bad for us, should have been told before we spent a small fortune.
